  • Going to visit the elvis presley home is not going to be easy for the owners of the house.. why? because imagine how many people come visit the house every month every days and every year and year to year ? you would think anyone would tempt to go upstairs when no one is looking. And been so that also.. the place would change abit its not like everything is where it was exactly. Why? people end up touching things finger marks and leaving scars all over the floor same walking areas everydays.

  • These photos were taken in late '73 by Linda Thompson's best friend and Graceland secretary, Jeanne LeMay. She has a book out with them in it... if you buy the softcover you get them in black and white... if you buy the hardcover you get them in colour. She also has two DVDs out... called Elvis, the beauty queen and me Vol 1 and 2.

I'm assuming all the makeup and toiletries on the vanity belong to Linda and Jeanne.

  • Why was the upstairs closed to the public for so long? Is it open to the public now?

  • elvis sucks he raped his own wife that prick and he cant even sing

  • @MultiRushfan You bleat like a lamb in a storm drain desperate for life saving attention. I hear your squeak of pain you poor , tiny, invisible, meaningless fuck.

  • I've been to the house three times, and every time felt different. You just get this feeling that his presence is very strong there.

  • it's open to the public now

  • @ElvisGraceland77

NO WAY! They opened it to the public????????

Awesome if true, Im leavin now to go see :)

  • @Intheshed123 No they didn't... and they don't plan to... Photos taken in '73 by a friend of Linda's

  • I got a really heavy feeling lookin at the picture of the bathroom.

  • I wish go there to be in his house , I miss you Elvis T_T

  • i would love to see upstairs for a few min but even going in to his house would be a big honor for me im glad my parents made my middle name Elvis Arron i feel really honored to have his name :D

  • @Humes53 That'd be my guess, I'm guessing these were probably taken like in '75, '76 or early '77, I seriously doubt that there are still '70's vintage toiletries on the bathroom counter.

  • @ford9572 These were taken in 1974. No one really knows what it looks like up there now. Got a friend that has worked there for 20 years and she has no clue. I hope they leave it that way. It was private in life and should be in death. It is just some rooms.

  • Does anyone know when this pic of the bathroom was taken??? Probably before Elvis died???

  • @Humes53 1974.

  • i was at graceland yesterday and i dont really like this bc they said that elvis never even allowed anyone upstairs and they still dont allow anyone out of respect. sooo seeing upstairs is pretty disrespectfull to mr presley

  • MusicByGreg, thanks you done a great job on this,

  • Am I the only one, who think that it is incredible sexy that his doors and ceiling where soundproof ? d; <3

  • @kevindiinc Yep!! Elvis must've LOVED those tricked out Chevy vans!!! I'm a bit curious as to why he didn't own one though, Maybe he did & we just don't know about it.

  • To the left by the towel ring you can see a face smiling

  • Elvis' bedroom looks like the inside of a tricked out Chevy van

  • At the 1:09 point if you look carefully you can see the mattress is sagging on the right side of the bed. Elvis must have slept on that side of the bed, Interesting.

  • Elvis must have been a "screamer" if he soundproofed his bedroom : O

  • I love Elvis, but his bedroom was creepy looking.

  • That X is pink

  • How did you see that?

  • Thank you "MusicByGreg" for this very interesting clip. I am an Elvis Tribute Artist and I have been to Graceland several times for the tours and also to perform during Elvis Week at Graceland Crossing which is located directly across the street of the mansion. This video provides all us Elvis enthusiasts with something that we have never been able to see before. Thank you so much.

    Sincerely,

    Mitchell Johnson

  • excellent!

  • If you watch the movie This Is Elvis they show the upstairs rooms in it.

  • wernt the sheets and everyting takin out of the room by maids

  • how u sneak up there and take pictures?

  • u dont u get da picks from the cameras in there

  • i would like to thank all of you for the nice word until we meet again,

  • I wonder if anyone (staff) goes up there to dust and vacuum???

I also wonder if Priscilla and Lisa go up there. After all these years it would be creepy to go back up there knowing it's been untouched since 8/16/77.

  • Priscilla and Lisa do go up there, and have mentioned that fact on "Elvis by the Presleys," and Priscilla says it on YT on the Larry King interview. I would think that somebody has to clean on a regular basis, and I doubt it is Priscilla or Lisa! The upstairs has NOT been closed since the day Elvis died, & Lisa even mentioned when Oprah visited & they ate at the dining table that her Aunt Delta upset her when she was 11 or 12 (abt 79 or 80), & she ran up to her room & slammed the door.

  • Also, they even shot the opening scene to "This is Elvis" up there in 1981. They used to have that scene on YT, and i saw it not long ago.

  • Thanks a lot for the reply. There's so much mystery about Elvis. It's like I want to know everything about him and Priscilla. I visited Graceland in Sept of 2007 with my mom and my aunt. I would love to go back their with my hubby but he's not interested in Elvis like I am. Maybe I can take my kids next summer.

  • Hi, check my other answer below to ElvisFreak77 about the Presidents, etc. Also, I want to mention that Elvis's grandmother Minnie lived at Graceland until 1981 when she died in the downstairs bedroom. and Aunt Delta lived there I think up to 1992 or 94--they had the kitchen closed off for her to use until she went to hospital or nursing home. They still cook there at Christmas because that is shown on "Elvis by the Presleys."

  • They say the only person allowed up there was Nicolous Cage, they turned down Bill Clinton when he asked to see it, and I think George Bush.

  • Yes I also heard that Nicolus Cage got up there when he was married to Lisa Marie. Can you imagine turning down the president though. Makes you wonder?????? Greg

  • Music, I wonder if they really turned the Presidents down? They may have said that just so people would not get a little miffed by it, I know if it were me I would not let anyone up there either, Elvis did not mind sharing with the world but he did have a private place he treasured and that was his upstairs, he loved all of Graceland but he needed that sanctuary of his bedroom and I respect the family for letting that still be honored.

  • ElvisFreak77 It is well known that any time a President makes a scheduled visit that the entire building has to be checked so they went upstairs, and Clinton, Bush, the Japanese Prime Minister, and probably Oprah all got private tours of upstairs. I'm sure all the close family that wants to go upstairs does also. They just don't talk about it because they like to keep that mystery going!

  • Thanks epmelodygirl, I read that there is a code and key that has to be used to get in, Priscilla and Lisa Marie have to be notified and given 2 days notice before Jack Sodan or the girl that does the artifacts needs to go up there for something, they say jewelry and clothes have been removed but I don't know about anything else, also Lisa has redecorated her room to today's standards but won't sleep there.

  • I know this sounds creepy but, before I knew that Elvis' bathroom was overhead, the first time I ever walked into the Graceland foyer, I felt an incrediable feeling of his presence, his spirit, I only felt it one other place the Jungle Room, it was a special feeling, although I felt a strong feeling of peace when I was outside in the back of Graceland.

  • @ElvisFreak77 What you were feeling is the energy left over from Elvis being there. The more emotional a person is at the time they are in one place, the more impression of that is left. When people see or hear, departed ones, it isn't ghosts, but energy. Sometime you can hear people who are still alive when they aren't near by. I heard my son outside calling his dog, when he was 5 miles away at work. It was energy left behind.

Hauntings are just left over energy. Not saying Elvis is haunting.

  • @epmelodygirl That makes sense but when I was there they said that a president requested to go upstairs & was turned down.

  • I heard from someone who would know that upstairs was a "dealbreaker" for the Oprah people. Meaning that was off limits and Oprah would not be allowed upstairs.

Security wise the house was checked before the presidential visit but the dignitaries did NOT go upstairs. This is a fact. Upstairs is off limits. Period.

  • Thanks so much for posting this video! I have looked everywere for a pic of Elvis's Bathroom, it just really creeps you out knowing that ELIVS died up there!

  • Joe E sure as hell took care of business

  • great video! ive always wondered what it looks like up there! but then again i can see why Lisa Marie wouldnt want anyone up there besides family. its like the last thing of her father she can keep to herself.

  • I agree. But it still would be nice to be able to get up there for a few minutes! Greg

  • Awesome pics.. I've often wondered what the bathroom looked like! Are there other pictures? I'd love to see them.. I'm a new Elvis fan at 27, so it's really interesting to learn all the stuff there is to know about this fascinating man.

  • These are the only ones I have found. I am sure there are others...but where they might be is anyones guess! Greg

  • @CarriesNo1fan Check out rareelvispresley.(om the site has a shitload of pics

  • i'm surprised after all of these years no one has snuck up stairs

  • I sure would like to try! Hang out for a hour or so! Greg

  • This is a nice video. If I remember correctly Linda Thompson used to have her personal pictures upstairs at Graceland online. I am not sure if they a re still there. Looks like these are similar. This is the real thing.

  • I think your right about the pictures being related to Linda Thompson. In one of the pictures I've seen Linda Thompson is setting on the bed. Thanks for the comment. Greg

  • I read that the pics were taken by Linda's sister when Elvis was out of town.

  • Do you know how many friggen lasers they have? You can't even let your shadow hit the basement pool room without setting off an alarm.

  • I was there in April 2007 and in April 2009, and they got so many lasers and cameras that nobody is going upstairs even if they could sneak up there. I saw three stairways to upstairs - they are on the tour - in the entryway, the kitchen, and then the stairs near the jungle room.

A annex room is used to set up a "upstairs exhbit" -

To be honest I wish they cut off the lasers just so I could sit in the jungle room for 15 minutes.

  • Just one night in the house with no security is all I ask! Greg

  • Hiya Greg I was gonna share with you those, ya already have them..I have some more.. God Bless

    WadeElvisMan

  • I dont think I have seen any other upstairs pictures besides the ones I have in the video. I would love to see others! Greg

  • You beat me to it. Your pictures are clearer. Nice work.

  • Yes but your video is better! Good job! Greg

  • that was really neat to see all of that, did you take all those pictures?

    nice job.

    Tammy

  • Nope. The closest I have gotten to the upstairs is the velvet rope at the bottom! Greg

  • Very interesting video. 5 stars for you.

  • Thank you! Greg

  • I was at Graceland twice. Once in 77 and again in 89. In 89 the house was open for tours. No one is allowed upstairs. So pictures are rare. The begining of the movie This Is Elvis was filmed for about three minutes upstairs but after that it was closed to all. Dont you live close? You should go see it. All the artifacts are great to see. greg

  • you arent aloud to go upstairs

  • No. It is a private area. The entire upstairs is off limits. I would imagine family go up but not the general public. Thats why photos and such are rare. Greg

  • Very informative.

  • Thank you! Greg

  • Thanks for this very interesting video Greg. Never been to the home, although I have friends who has been there. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO GREG, C.W.

  • Thank you CW. Greg

  • very intresting vid mr countryman! poor elvis still we will never forget him thanks greg this is going in my favourites....

  • Your welcome. There is not much in the way of pictures of the upstairs! Greg

  • Thanks for all the video, awesome 5 stars

  • Your welcome. Glad you enjoyed it! Greg
