@lenalena111 The teacher at the beginning's probably checking for signs of radiation sickness like growths or wierd blistering/red patches... Doesn't seem like the outdoors are very healthy there.
This song makes me feel nostalgia. It makes me think of how a few years ago I really didn't have any real expectations. It makes me think of how my best friends and I really have grown apart, and it makes me pine for moments I'll never experience again. Everyday now is just this same apathetic feeling.

@ohMyMelissah Unfortunately that's not always the case either. Listening to some of the 'music' coming out these days is almost sickening to the stomach. Gladly we still have great bands like Sigur Ros around to make sense of all this madness.
@chellybean06 Uh...none of the songs in the ( ) album have lyrics in them. What sounds like the vocals in the song is the nonexistent language the band members made up. Research it on their website. Their music focuses little to none of words and lyrics, but rather how the music itself affects the listener. That's why they made up their own fake language. Beautifully horrible. So incredibly depressing yet uplifting at the same time. I fear I am in a state of emotional termoil right now. T.T The power of music amazes.
I think this video says a lot about innocence. I mean, these children are in the middle of what appears to be a nuclear holocaust, yet they are completely oblivious to it and making the best of the situation. Wow.
There was an article written about me basically saying that my videos are the best thing they've ever seen, but the masses have not yet noticed. I have received emails asking me why I am not famous. This kind of pisses me off because I work on a farm for no pay but room and board. I'm a professional writer.

I wish all parents would realize what they have when they look into their child's eyes.
@SystelCyrus Innocence = Freedom from guilt or sin through being unacquainted with evil. In simple terms this means that most children are worry/responsibility free and happy because they are unaware of most of the horribly evil bullshit that society spews out. Just because children are stupid and you're a cynical prick doesn't mean childhood innocence doesn't exist and some of us think that it's a beautiful thing. How about YOU stop acting like an arrogant douche bag and trying to tell me what to think when I didn't even direct my comment at you? Because...I honestly don't give a fuck how your pathetic mind interprets anything. Prick.
@SystelCyrus Haha...You put an apostrophe in the word "its" which is wrong. Any idiot knows how to properly use possessive pronouns but you're obviously much more of a fucking idiot than most. You're trying to twist words around and catch me in a mistake that I never made. The sum of its parts? Where the hell are you getting this from? You're babbling about nothing and throwing pathetic insults at me that don't even pertain to the situation. Keep it up, it's pretty amusing...
@kpad42o Sir, I honestly suggest you stop letting your kid on youtube if he's going to make stupid comments.
Also, you're saying it's wrong to put an apostrophe in "its", but "???" is fine? You forgot a comma between "sense" and "you", putting an ellipsis between "Because" and "I", and lastly, "Prick" by itself doesn't constitute a full proper sentence. Perhaps you should join your son in class some time.
@SystelCyrus Okay, you can start a sentence with the word "or" and it's never capitalized. You started a sentence with "..." which is horribly wrong. "Dip Shit" is two words, dip shit. Also, "cause" is not a word. I can also point out every little grammatical error you made in the past 4 comments. You're a douche bag troll and you're not worth my time. You replied to my comment attacking me for no reason and started arguing with me about nothing because you're too arrogant to admit you're wrong.
@kpad42o dictionary [.] reference [.] com [/] browse [/] dipshit One word. Starting a sentence with an ellipsis is common practice. I'm sure you don't even know what an ellipsis is. Cause is a common and widely accepted abbreviation of because, and on it's own actually IS a word. And my or is indeed capitalized. And if I may add, while my original response disagreed with your view, I in no way attacked you directly. You attacked me first. Besides, you can't prove my statement wrong.
@SystelCyrus By the way, you're a hypocrite insulting me about grammar when you make grammatical errors yourself. Look up "hypocrite" in the dictionary and maybe you'll understand what that means. Your pathetic brain probably can't comprehend it either way though. Also, you're calling me a "kid" but also calling me "sir"? You're a retard. Do you think I'm a man whose body is fused with his kids?
@kpad42o Actually, you started the grammar insults back and forth. I was simply pointing out that you, sir, are the hypocrite. I'm calling you sir because I'm sure whoever's actually responding is immeasurably inane and incapable of using a keyboard, most likely one of the aforementioned screaming shit machines. Thus, I am assuming you need a slightly less stupid adult to type it for you. I'm addressing both you and your drunken waste of life father simultaneously.
@SystelCyrus "you need a slightly less stupid adult to type it for you. I'm addressing both you and your drunken waste of life father simultaneously." I don't know what you two are arguing over, but this made me laugh really hard.
@SystelCyrus Can't you just respect the fact that we have different opinions about it without insulting me though? Given the past comments I know you're not stupid and neither am I. We just view things differently and I don't hate you for that and you shouldn't hate me either. We don't know each other so lets just both be better people and end this nonsense.
This beats Hallelujah... there are no lyrics, you give it your own meaning. We all think of something different when we hear the opening chords... but it's just as powerful as it is for the next person.
you sigh low tonight you're so alone you're so you sigh alot and fight you're so lost you're so you fight so low you're so alone you sigh low your sighs are low you're so
Rest in peace, Geneveve. Every time I hear this I think of you and cry. You were so young and beautiful. I hope you're happy now. I love you. I wish you would have stayed a little longer.
In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful peices of music ever written. I have been listening to this for the past 8 years, a Sigur Ros fan since I saw them in a small 50 seat venue about 12 years ago. It carries so many powerful memories of where I have been, what I have been experiencing pysically & emotionally that it never fails to evoke a feeling. Now I am close to tears in a small open plan office, with people all around me. Thanks be to god for Sigur Ros, my favourite band.
@Qstyles18 Keep the music close, but don't let too much of the darker stuff set in. Keep some playing that makes you happy. That's how to get through it...
I understand why youtube videos now have adverts at the beginning of them, to make it free for us, but once you've settled down to listen to a beautiful piece of music and you're stillness is disrupted, it isn't half aggravating.
The Video, The Music, The depiction of the world its all beautifully done.
What makes this so moving is that while watching it i wonder to myself if this depiction of the world is in the future of my life. With everything thats going on it makes you wonder. This song, video is haunting, terrifying, beautiful, mesmerizing, stunning, poetic, and above all else it moves you.
This song is my own personal lullaby, drifing me to sleep on the nights where my thoughts keep me awake. The gentle tone of this song is like no other, unique in every way and more meaningful than any note ever played.
@joerocks624 It is a made up language called Hopelandic that has the same sounds as Icelandic but has no meaning. They want the listener to create their own meaning from their songs.
makes grown men cry because of just how beautiful it is. this music changed my life after a very hard move to the west coast from the east. left behind alot of good people and didnt know anyone to start high school but i would listen this song or any sigur ros song and realize that everything will work out. <3 and yes im a man and i am crying but im proud and happy. :)
Sigur Ros makes me cry and think, and at the same time feel good about myself. I have everything, I have food, shelter clothes, and to me that makes me feel rich but imagine how rich people can feel with all that money and power! Sigur Ros, Please make this world change<3
I'm assuming you probably can't get this on Itunes because they seem to have a thing where they just don't put foreign bands on their site, which is irritating, Anyway...Can you get it as an MP3 download?
@TheElsewhere19 yes you can get it on itunes, its the first track on the ( ) album. (the album has brackets on its cover) you should get the cd as it is awesome. i also have the 3'' cd EP. Untitled is also name 'Vaka', which is the name of Orri's daughter (Orri is the drummer, i find it lol that there is no drums in the song) Get the record youll love it
you know, i kinda got my own interpretation, to me it seems like a false sense of security, the school, the teachers, and especially the gas mask, we feel like we are perfectly safe from what lies outside, even to the point of willingly putting ourselves right in the middle of the problem (in this case, the dust) and as soon as one thing goes wrong or out of plan, we drop dead, unable to take back our mistake, whether we made the mistake ourselves or not, just my thought, take it or leave it.

@99SodaCans Very few people see past the blatantly rude exterior and into the polished sarcasm I aim for in my comments. :C
SystelCyrus 3 months ago
@SystelCyrus Can't you just respect the fact that we have different opinions about it without insulting me though? Given the past comments I know you're not stupid and neither am I. We just view things differently and I don't hate you for that and you shouldn't hate me either. We don't know each other so lets just both be better people and end this nonsense.

This beats Hallelujah... there are no lyrics, you give it your own meaning. We all think of something different when we hear the opening chords... but it's just as powerful as it is for the next person.

Regardless, however, absolutely amazing.

Simply Beautiful...

The gentle tone of this song is like no other, unique in every way and more meaningful than any note ever played.

that high pitched vocal bend at 5:12 and 5:23 always kills me. I dunno, there's something so beautiful about that sound

This is such a beautiful song, but does anyone know what the meaning is? I'm just wondering.
joerocks624 5 months ago
@joerocks624 It is a made up language called Hopelandic that has the same sounds as Icelandic but has no meaning. They want the listener to create their own meaning from their songs.

makes grown men cry because of just how beautiful it is. this music changed my life after a very hard move to the west coast from the east. left behind alot of good people and didnt know anyone to start high school but i would listen this song or any sigur ros song and realize that everything will work out. <3 and yes im a man and i am crying but im proud and happy. :)

I'm assuming you probably can't get this on Itunes because they seem to have a thing where they just don't put foreign bands on their site, which is irritating, Anyway...Can you get it as an MP3 download?

you know, i kinda got my own interpretation, to me it seems like a false sense of security, the school, the teachers, and especially the gas mask, we feel like we are perfectly safe from what lies outside, even to the point of willingly putting ourselves right in the middle of the problem (in this case, the dust) and as soon as one thing goes wrong or out of plan, we drop dead, unable to take back our mistake, whether we made the mistake ourselves or not, just my thought, take it or leave it.
