By the next fall Air France Boeing 747 is expected to be retrofited with ptv KLM did that and its time to do that for Air France.

Now i would be gutted if i paid for a business class seat and seen i could of had the 4 middle row seats together to use as a flat bed for 1/3 of the price of my business class seat..that would not be a flat seat..

yeah you right, i slept on the middle section till the landing, it was my most comfortable flight :)

@cnr4094 i did that once too!! NY to Dublin. supposed to be aer lingus but chartered delta. delayed from 5 in the day until 2 in the morning. slept for 5 hours.

So when I got back from Abu Dhabi to Munich I also had an almost empty Airbus A340-300. I was able to take a nap in the middle section because nobody was there :-).
