Its the fault of the owner if they intentionally turn their dog loose and it is trespassing on someone elses land. They give the tradition of hunting a bad name. Don't take it out on the dog. Stand up to the owners dog. Some cases you can even get paid for damages. If you catch the hunter on your property and you have - No Trespassing signs, in some states this becomes Criminal Trespassing. Its sad, but, more land is becoming private and the beautiful sound of the hound baying is disappearing

over here in britain we hunt with lurchers, which is a sighhound crossed to a working breed. for instance greyhound x collie or instead of a lurcher you can use a long dog on very open country, this is a hybrid sighthound (saluki x greyhound) most of these types of dogs will do well on deer provided you know where the deer are, if not you need a scent hound like the ones in the video, that can find and bay. an amstaff is a show pit, by all means use game bred pits to x to greyhounds for bull x's
any dog can be broke/trained to run deer or any other scent in the woods. but its easier to train dogs that have been breed for this purpose. and the body type of an am staff is not ideal for deer hunting. the walker hounds we use are tall, lean, long leg dogs with great stamina for all day and all night running.

Deer are prolific in NC. I'm from Raleigh here, grew up in Wilmington. Dogs aren't a threat to deer, most of the deer will just go deeper into the woods, the dumb ones might go out into the open. These guys are following the rules, hunting a nocturnal creature during the day. If anything they're selecting for smarter deer by culling the dumb ones that rush out into the open. Evolution in action. Not to mention they're going to cook what the kill, who cares?

over here in britain we hunt with lurchers, which is a sighhound crossed to a working breed. for instance greyhound x collie or instead of a lurcher you can use a long dog on very open country, this is a hybrid sighthound (saluki x greyhound) most of these types of dogs will do well on deer provided you know where the deer are, if not you need a scent hound like the ones in the video, that can find and bay. an amstaff is a show pit, by all means use game bred pits to x to greyhounds for bull x's

any dog can be broke/trained to run deer or any other scent in the woods. but its easier to train dogs that have been breed for this purpose. and the body type of an am staff is not ideal for deer hunting. the walker hounds we use are tall, lean, long leg dogs with great stamina for all day and all night running.

deer dont have a snowballs chance in hell standin under a candy feeder so u can look at it for n hour the most exciting times are deer run right over top of me and its that split second to see if its a buck they dont just run out in the open bucks especially they slip through, this year i had one i shot at knoked it down i followed the dogs in the woods to find it and it was still alive fightin the dogs off so i ran in and shot it nice lil eight now tell me thats not exciting seein that go down

Deer are prolific in NC. I'm from Raleigh here, grew up in Wilmington. Dogs aren't a threat to deer, most of the deer will just go deeper into the woods, the dumb ones might go out into the open. These guys are following the rules, hunting a nocturnal creature during the day. If anything they're selecting for smarter deer by culling the dumb ones that rush out into the open. Evolution in action. Not to mention they're going to cook what the kill, who cares?
