Hey this is Lugia =D from Skatwot. Uhm, do senegal parrots bite a lot or make a lot of noise when not around? Or is that because other birds are around? I'm interested in a senegal...
It really depends on the senegal. As a whole, they aren't that noisy or vocal, and Elzie tends to pretty quiet but she does whistle and make "shh" noises when she wants attention. She does, however, bite alot. I don't know if senegals bite any more than other parrots on average, but she is sure a biter.
And like all parrots, senegals need lots of attention, so be sure you've got at least a few hours a day - on most days; it's ok if it's not every single day - to play with and talk to it.
Ah, a few hours a day? Mmm... Do senegals get stressed easily? I wonder why that one in particular bites a lot, maybe going through maturity? There's ways to teach it to bite lighter =D
I don't know if senegals as a breed get stressed easily, but Elzie is usually pretty relaxed. They do tend to bond to one favorite person and to lash out at others, and that's Elzie's problem. She's my wife's bird, and she doesn't want anything to do with anyone else - and she'll bite them if they get too close.
Anyways, i'm sided with buying a Lory/Lorikeet instead. Any ideas? I've tried state-wide with no luck, they're all $300. Lol. I need some reference...
I don't know that you'll ever find one at that price - unless of course you end up buying it from a really crooked dealer who cuts costs by treating his or her birds badly.
You may be able to find private dealers who will sell a quaker for $150 or so. We got our second quaker - the late, great Bogart - from a private dealer for $100, as I recall. I know it was no more than $150.
Well they're urns now! I don't think that was their intended use, but that's how we used them.

I don't have any experience with lorries, but $300 sounds right to me. What kind of ideas or reference do you need?
