I'm overjoyed that this is taking place in the UK, just walked past Sloane square and saw the roadworks today, exciting stuff for the amateur cityplanner.
It encourages motorists to think and that's a good thing as they ignore road signs normally. But there are some problems that need to be improved. Ramps could have been cheaper
I'm actually quite surprised to see London's council decide to embark on such a progressive and positive scheme, not to say it isn't a great step forward! I always associate London with pollution and traffic, so it is nice to see this transition to human movement rather than car movement. :)

could anyone tell me what is the difference between 'before' and 'after'? traffic lights? pedestrian crossing (except for the granites)?
priorities of the road using?

No to very low kerbs. Roads are almost level to pavements.
Similar textures between road and pavement ie. no more asphalt roads.
No railings or traffic lights.
Possibly no crossings (because you can cross literally anywhere).
