@BunnieStar13 and the sign for sign she sign it.. more to the side.the front..but she is starting.. so we should give her credit for trying and learning quick cuze of the show.. :)
Does anyone know where I can look for a tutor to teach me ASL? I know a little over 100 signs already but I know that the grammar system is different and I don't know where to begin!
@HORSELOVE59 little words like is,to, the ect arent used. theres a website called aslpro dot com. But if you were say asking Wheres the bathroom? In gloss (how you write out the language-its in all caps and you only write down the signs) BATHROOM? WHERE? or if you were introducing yourself HI MY NAME K-E-L-S-E-Y (you fingerspell your name mines kelsey though lol) WHATS YOUR NAME? Then theyll reply and you could be like NICE TO-MEET YOU (: if you have anymore questions feel free to message me
@dk5388 you're just retarded. Until you know a thing or two about ASL, don't say anything. People have previously told you little things about it, like you don't need the filler words that us hearing people are cursed with. Just stop, please, and save yourself the embarrassment.
@HORSELOVE59 i know a bit of ASL...my girlfriend has deaf parents and i have been learning it quite quickly, but yes her parents did tell me the asl language doesnt need every single word...it was a mistake of mine
@BunnieStar13 Really?? So are mine!! Hopefully, you know what a Coda is right?? B/c that's what we both are!! I'm 14 years old & I've been learning how to sign since I was 18 months...
I don't like the way she signs. My parents are deaf, so I know sign language. She doesn't sign all of the words she says. Like, for instance, "I". When signing, you have to sign all the important words, "I" being one of them. It's not necessary to sign words like "the" and "there" but it's important to sign the pronouns, so the person you're signing to understands who or what you're taking about.
@shoupuhdoop I know what you mean. But the truth is that a LOT of hearing parents of Deaf children sign like this, or worse. That said, it's better than not at all, which I've also seen. I see this all the time, and it's frustrating.
@kimberlyjennery Yeah, I know what you mean. Both of my parents are deaf and neither of their parents learned how to sign, so it gets a bit frustrating.
the syntax of ASL gets me. I always catch myself doing signed english. but i know a lot of words thanks to the show and the clips :)

@k333mcr you can also try lifeprint com or signingsavvy com those are more reliable then aslpro my deaf teacher told me that.. so yup. :)

she forgot "as i" in the sign
dk5388 5 months ago
@dk5388 No, the "I" was already mentioned at first, so there's no need to repeat the "I" again.

@dk5388 when using sign it'd be too long to use every word into sign... so sign language gets rid of all the redundant words you don't need.

This show reminded me of sign language right when I was trying to decide what language(s) I want to learn throughout life.
It's definitely high on my list.
