Just because a game doesnt have the most advanced graphics doesnt mean it has to look like ass( certain wii and indie titles have proved that). Good art direction or gameplay can make up for older tech, but Venetica as it seems, has neither.

It's possible that this vid is "in-dev" stuff? still, even with a graphics update, if the combat remains clunky and without the satisfaction of gore, it'd still feel last-gen. plot seems kinda "meh" too, and the so-called powers (the ones we've heard of) don't really seem that impresive. I think that at this point in time, developers should know that we expect more from our games.

Hate to be one of the bitching 'tech kids,' but it's almost 2011, you can have good graphics and a good story line. The graphics are a huge turn off for me. I think games these days should have high standards. I for one am a huge fan of Final Fantasy, (even the older ones on PS2 looked better than this shit), Fable, Dragon Age and even the Tales of series.......

The world looked interesting at first, then the combat made my interest go down and it looked like you were in some dugeon like place most the time and the graphics look last gen. people can get mad all they want thats just a fact.

seriously... graphics are like the cover of the book now a days. be nice if this showed actual game play. im rather disappointed with almost all the main titles this year on game play alone.
Lots of people are criticizing the graphics. Well, they have a right to. Generally graphics are a supporting feature of a game, and don't drive it. Sometimes graphics are so bad that they bring down the game. I consider animations seperate from graphics, but in this case, the animations sort of bring down the game. This appears to be just another rehashed RPG with nothing new.
The animations made me feel a little sick to my stomach. At least use cutscenes in the trailer if you want to sell...
About the graphics, they're not highly detailed, no. But they're smooth as hell. Makes me think of the Fable series, but I don't see any of the quirks that they have.

This looks like a PS2 game. And I'm not just talking about the graphics, I can get over that. But the animations, the combat, everything just looks last gen. Maybe this trailer is just making it look like it. But I personally, will not be getting this.

You guys are arguing about some really idiotic stuff here.... just because a game has good graphics doesn't mean it has a bad story, and just because it's new doesn't mean it's bad either. Look at all the other games out with good graphics as well as story, Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3, Heavy Rain, etc etc.... and most of these games took an extremely long time to develop, so you can't say they were underdeveloped. And YEAH Assassin's creed has a good storyline too. >_>
A good game has got good plot, nice gameplay, good music AND well done graphics. Any combination where one of the above is missing leads to a mediocre product. Or, at least, a decent one that could be improved somehow.

one thing i dont agree with almost everyone is those who considers Mass effect series(for example) to be great(9.0 score). It is ok it is full of anything unimagined about the universe,lots of stories,the codec data, the conversation interface, but just to that?, then the game gets repetitive and boring at battles,etc.

ummm about first Mass Effect.. its not THAT bad if u're playing main storyline of the game. then its not SO repetitive. Im playing it right now. Im not a great fan of cosmos-rpgs but... in the end i enjoy the game.. just sub-quests sucks hard... these are really boring. but overall the game isnt bad. I already got myself a ME 2. hope its better than first one. ;P

@nightwisher23 yup my friend. i did played both MassEffects and please dont say that this game is best of all... cause BESIDE main story side quests were boring as Hell! Even Gothic1 was way better in that aspect. i barely wanted to finish ME2. It was just not enough. I will never touch it again surely. Well but i guess u're not the only one liking this title...
ME2 might not be the best game, but it surely is one of the best game in RPGs , you can't deny it.. well, I am waiting for Fable3 on PC, played Fable: The Lost Chapters, that was realy good RPGame.. Also can't wait Diablo 3 to come <3

About Fable.. i don't know.. i guess im too picky. The game is well made, has a good story and is good looking too. BONUS.. you can choose your path... but somewhow i didn't liked it. Don't know why.. BUT! I like newly released Arcania =)

@TheChowster44 weeell... whole idea of AC wasnt that bad, but overall gameplay is pretty messed up. I really forced myself to play it cause even playing mmorpg's was more fun than this for me.. with newer releases of AC it changed a bit, givin' you a bit more things to do but still its good ol' AC. About Deadly premonition... its not that bad looking game at all. Hell.. its good. keeps u interested ;) I still play Chrono Trigger for snes :P
@oxoConstantinEoxo I do agree with you... Though I think Assassin's Creed does have a great storyline even with the repetitive gameplay. They did better in the second and third games then the first too. Graphics do matter a little, but everyone shouldn't focus only on graphics, it's story that's really important. The story for this game doesn't seem too exciting to me though, doesn't seem like it'll be anywhere near something like Mass Effect...

This looks like a PS2 game. And I'm not just talking about the graphics, I can get over that. But the animations, the combat, everything just looks last gen. Maybe this trailer is just making it look like it. But I personally, will not be getting this.

It really looks like they didn't take their time to make this game. Yeah, graphics aren't everything but it can almost signify how much work they really put into the game. I mean, the fact they skimped on graphics makes you question the quality of the whole game.

You guys are arguing about some really idiotic stuff here.... just because a game has good graphics doesn't mean it has a bad story, and just because it's new doesn't mean it's bad either. Look at all the other games out with good graphics as well as story, Grand Theft Auto IV, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3, Heavy Rain, etc etc.... and most of these games took an extremely long time to develop, so you can't say they were underdeveloped. And YEAH Assassin's creed has a good storyline too. >_>

A good game has got good plot, nice gameplay, good music AND well done graphics. Any combination where one of the above is missing leads to a mediocre product. Or, at least, a decent one that could be improved somehow.

i have the game already for my ps3. finished it two times. Its great yea! for sure.
But dont tell me its LONG. its taking like 10h for the first time. Though Story about getting to Shamballa is great, views are breathtaking, this isnt something i want to be... i can't even describe what i want xD its just... the games arent "deep" enough for me anymore...

Im fucking agree with you, the best game is a mix of Rol-Adventure-FPS, and fps with real balistic stuff, rather than an endless void argument and graphic boosted game.
one thing i dont agree with almost everyone is those who considers Mass effect series(for example) to be great(9.0 score). It is ok it is full of anything unimagined about the universe,lots of stories,the codec data, the conversation interface, but just to that?, then the game gets repetitive and boring at battles,etc.

well i bet that everyone that is a bit older than 15teen, will agree that Older games had "soul". You actually could feel that creators put their heart into the title. Games were selling cause these were GOOD. not GOOD looking... look at todays games... Awesome graphs and for me... BORING! and no... im not a whimp with low end pc. I can run Crysis and every other game that was released up until now in max details. New games suck! thats all! thank you :]

its cool constantino, there is something to add too, there is ,undoubtly, the factor that most people who has been videoplaying all his life, could experiment,all about getting unvoidably more exigent with games, called "growth", and i think one is tired of watching the "soldier" kill and want to be the that soldier...

well cause its not fallout anymore, its something else, new. But yeah, its still a great game, no doubt about it! For now im in love with Star Ocean International for Playstation 3. Simple story, i would say... linear as hell.. but damn playable at least, good game for a lil break beetween "bigger titles"..

ummm about first Mass Effect.. its not THAT bad if u're playing main storyline of the game. then its not SO repetitive. Im playing it right now. Im not a great fan of cosmos-rpgs but... in the end i enjoy the game.. just sub-quests sucks hard... these are really boring. but overall the game isnt bad. I already got myself a ME 2. hope its better than first one. ;P

Even Gothic1 was way better in that aspect. i barely wanted to finish ME2. It was just not enough. I will never touch it again surely. Well but i guess u're not the only one liking this title...

About Fable.. i don't know.. i guess im too picky. The game is well made, has a good story and is good looking too. BONUS.. you can choose your path... but somewhow i didn't liked it. Don't know why.. BUT! I like newly released Arcania =)
Cause its very close to the first releases, simple battle system with huge world to see :)

I agree with graphics do not make a game, but Assassin creed has an interesting story, and it is fun, if you are in the right mindset.
But People really need to learn to try new games, and not just the "prettiest" ones.
For example, Deadly Premonition isn't incredible in terms of graphics, but it is my favorite game.

@TheChowster44 weeell... whole idea of AC wasnt that bad, but overall gameplay is pretty messed up. I really forced myself to play it cause even playing mmorpg's was more fun than this for me.. with newer releases of AC it changed a bit, givin' you a bit more things to do but still its good ol' AC. About Deadly premonition... its not that bad looking game at all. Hell.. its good. keeps u interested ;) I still play Chrono Trigger for snes :P

@oxoConstantinEoxo I do agree with you... Though I think Assassin's Creed does have a great storyline even with the repetitive gameplay. They did better in the second and third games then the first too. Graphics do matter a little, but everyone shouldn't focus only on graphics, it's story that's really important. The story for this game doesn't seem too exciting to me though, doesn't seem like it'll be anywhere near something like Mass Effect...
