I'm not saying that John Tavares will be anywhere as good as Mike Bossy, I'm just saying that people had the same kind of comments about him, but they're certainly not saying it now.
i'm a big isles fan.. but in my gut, i worry that tavares will spend 2 years on the isles, where he'll barely perform. then they'll trade him for a veteran or two. the veterans will get injured and retire. tavares, now on another team, will thrive and become a superstar.
I think the days of trading for veterans are gone. The Islanders are building their core and John Tavares is a big piece of it. I think you can expect him to stay around for a long time. And he will perform, just give it time.

He is an overrated fucker. You can rate me down as many times as you want but that doesnt take away the fact that he is a product of TSN in Canada.
He's a one-dimensional scoring forward who will likely struggle in the NHL.
