Priest were simply the best at innovating, expanding, and evolving the genre of hard rock and metal. My first taste was Unleashed in the East. That turned me on to all their previous studio albums (that happened to be on sale for $2.99 with the notch on top of the cover). Once British Steel hit...BAM! they changed the whole music scene again. Kudos for all those here that read into the lyrics and find meaning to them. My brain doesn't work that way. If you are a true metalhead, you always put Judas Priest or Black Sabbath at the number one spot, the innovators deserve best! He is giving a rose to his beloved because he knows he is leaving. He is telling her winter and death are not eternal and to remember him when the first rose buds in the following springtime...
