I have a question if you please...is it possible with hypnosis to say to someone when hypnotised you'll go home tonight and dream your james bond and you'll drive a flash car and rescue a pretty woman etc etc or is it another part of the brain that is used for dreaming? thanks...someone I know had the falling in love with a brush trick done on him,so I know it works he admitted he loved the brush like a girlfriend as was suggested he said he wouldn't do it again mind you cuz it felt strange.

Joe you can hypnotise someone and get them to believe almost anything - whether or not that is what is happening - well that's a different discusion.

Looks like he went at about 1:20. There were probably no less than 30 suggestions to that point. You have to continue to give suggestions until one is accepted and the weight goes off the arm. The rest is just for effect. A weightless arm is illogical = unconscious. Is that a pretty good summary Jon?

The rest is to deepen and train his mind to respond. Your brain, or intellect, can not do illogical, only the emotive and creative mind, or subconscious, can do that.

So illogical = hypnosis.

I tried this on a friend. I tried to do exactly as in the video.

My friend was very relaxed. In fact he was so relaxed that his arm never went cataleptic.

What can I do to make him cataleptic?

remember that hypnosis is the acceptance of suggestion not the creation of relaxation.

If it didn't work either your intention is wrong or your friend isn't good at being hypnotised.

Does he need to know what hypnosis is in order to be hypnotised?

Very nice Jon. I have used this successfully a few times now. They simply focus on the one thing, the arm, at the exclusion of everything else, which IS hypnosis. I also enjoyed your chinosis video. It makes a great relaxer for difficult subjects and gets them started following instructions. Brilliant!!

Hypnosis is the art of suggestion and creating a suggestable state. Observant of you. Hypnosis can't be psudo science because it is an art, otherwise evryone could be as good at it as everyone else and that is not so.

ok, thank your for your statement. In that case, I do not think I am suggestable. Does that mean that the subject has to want to be put under the influence? Is it possible to hypnotise someone who does not want to be hypnotised then?

Ofcourse you just as much as anyone else. Including me.

Only people with a total lack of imagination are hard to 'put under' and apparently 'will' has not much to do with it. (although weak-willed persons tend to not be able to hold thoughts sufficiently and will be harder to hypnotize). All in all you can hypnotize anyone, some simply require more work than others.
