  • There R many Great GODly Warriors that've left us & I definitely consider Sister Dorothy Love Coates one of them. I did not know her personally :(, but going by the comments & compliments from various sources & people, she was a GOD-fearing Woman & she stood up for Civil Rights for GOD's People :) And, my LORD, her Music, her vocal delivery & writing, her style; she knew how 2 phrase, where 2 put it, etc. I feel so Blessed 2 hear & see her & The Harmo-nettes on video working 4 The KINGDOM.

  • Beautiful!

  • im from Alabama and this how we do it in our baptists church. I love it!

  • Is there any way that you can get a cd copy of this album to me...It's on the album A New Day Dawns? I will be more than happy to pay for your trouble...I'm her only niece from Cali! Hit me @ my gmail Addy. Thanks and Bless you!

  • Thank-You, I have down loaded this to my Face Book page. I am in Prayer that the people visit my profile page get as much from this song as I do. Especially GREAT for this season of the Passion.

  • @checotahkid Thank-You, and I pray that people will visit your profile page and be blessed by your ministry in what God has called you to do. I pray you have a blessed and wonderful Easter.

  • God bless you for this. I have just come across these postings. I have seen some of them but not this or some of the other ones from the documentary. This sounds like her in the later years- the voice is more contemplative, yet the singing is still just as forceful as when she was younger. May she RIP knowing that she and her group have not been forgotten.

  • They will forever be remembered for their contribution to gospel music. ...Dorothy Love Coates, Mahalia Jackson, Willie Mae Ford Smith, Thomas Dorcey, Sally Martin, and the list go on and on. No matter what the difficulty or what challenge they faced, God used them to be a blessing to His people. Dorothy Love Coates once said, "At night I'd sing for the people, days I'd work for the white man," ("The Lord has blessed our going out and our coming in. He's blessed our sitting in, too.")

  • So much expression in her voice. Wonderful.

  • Alright you gotta give me some history on this one...sounds like maybe in her later years (but her phrasing is still untouched and unbeatable). I hear her timing touches in voices like Albertina and some of that lot. Man bless you for posting great songs like this. Luv ya man (in a manly brother way lol)

  • Thank you for viewing and commenting. Luv to you too my friend.

  • I cannot thank you enough for posting this. It is great! DLC was in a class all her own. She did not just have the musical part, she walked the walk and the anointing flowed. Thank You!

  • Thank you for listening and you're very welcome. I agree with you 100%, gospel singing like this just gets all over me. Thank You!

  • I thought I had heard everything by DLC, but this is one that's new to me. This is awesome. Thanks for posting. She was one of a kind.
