I've got 3 egg laying hens in my back yard in San Diego. I love it! The eggs end up costing me about the same or more than the store, but they are much more tasty, I don't have to go buy them, and I know they are from healthy happy chickens. Each hen has her own personality. And they eat my food scraps and bugs in the yard. Go chickens!!!!

Fantastic! Eggs are about 10 cents a piece, so you are really saving alot of money raising your own chickens. Try growing some spinach to go with your eggs, it can be blanched and frozen to be used later. Yummy spinach and egg quiche. Cheap and filling =)
