  • What about using vinegar isntead of ammonia?

  • I dont bother getting the outside, it gets dirty again in no time

  • Hey man good vid!

  • The medical rags work great. The ammonia though damages window tint big time. Use 50/50 mix of alcohol and distilled water for tinted windows or a tint safe window cleaner.

  • Nice vid. I rated your video too. Check out my videos on auto detailing and tell me what you think.

  • i find using ammonia on your car as a car wash works really well too.

  • Just to let you know, ammonia ruins window tint. use alcohol instead!!!

  • just a question...is it with your medical rag? or wich your medical rag?

  • where can you buy amonia?

  • tons of places sell ammonia just have to look

  • excellent tip! but doesnt ammonia smell bad?

  • very succint and informative...great job

  • great video man but is pretty sad how people start talking without paying attention to what you say but nothing thanks for the tips

  • I use cotton diaper cloths & it works well. I bought yellow microfiber cloths at Costco & I didn't like it because it left lint residue hairs that sticks to the glass and mirrors. So I went back to diaper cloths.

  • hey do u have to have ammonia or could u use window cleaner??

  • What do you suggest for cleaning tints? I've so many things...my tints develop a nasty hazy crap over time. I'm a LIGHT smoker "cigars" but even open up the windows when I smoke.

  • ur good!!top marks

  • would you not let the glass down a small bit to clean the top of the window?????? FOOL.....

  • Someone doesn't pay attention very well, huh? Watch the video again, and see where I instruct how to "roll the window down and clean the areas that are hard to reach"

  • great tip ryan, thanks for posting.

  • dont use ammonia on tinted windows BTW :) cheers

  • what should i use for tinted windows?

  • concise, clear clips, I'm gonna subscribe, keep 'em coming

  • I use to have surgical towels and vinegar still works. But I have switch to just microfiber towels and zep window cleaner from home depot its only one step spray and wipe looks perfect. Your way works also.

  • Well to get a streak free window you can clean, and rinse the window, then use newspapers to dry it!

  • Yes, very true. However the microfiber towel only costs you about $1.25 per towell and lasts you a few years of use. Everytime you use a newspaper, it will cost you $0.50 which can add up week by week.

The ink in the newspaper with the combination of the paper material itself make an outstanding way to clean your windows. Thank you for your contribution.

  • A detailer will also clean the rim of the window!!

  • You are absolutely right....that's why at the end of the tutorial I mentioned to "roll the window down" and get the areas that would be hard to reach while the window was closed completely shut.

    Thank you for the observation.

  • I had this Rain-x window treatment on my SUV, it was terriable at night, everytime the wipers passed there was BAD STREAKING!!! After trying just about everything in my garage I used the Castrol Super Clean on it and let it sit for ten minutes or so , then hit with the water hose. My goodness it's better than new now!!!!

I use the Super Clean on all my toys now.. I got the idea from your other video , removing bugs! ha!! Thank You....

  • Ok, thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying the benefits of Super clean. Super Clean is no longer owned by Castrol though, it's just simply superclean.

  • Well owned by Castrol or not it's on my shopping list when I head to the store... I tell you why I purchased it . All of my boating friends including myself use it on our boats to remove the marks on the side of our vessels made by the fenders. It easily removes all black marks.... Cheers.........

  • These Micro Fiber cloths are the best. I think that the best deals are from Smeer Free. I like the fact that they are ECO Smeer Free. We need to really start caring about our earth.

  • I thought you are not saposed to use amonia on tinted windows.

  • Factory tinted windows is fine, but no, not on aftermarket tinted glass.

  • WHAT IF THE WINDOW IS TINTED

  • Like the tips. Now this may be a dumb question but perhaps you can help. Can dog scratches be removed from the doors? They are deep enough for rust but deep enough to notice. Don't have a buffer so was just wondering if there's a tip and average Joe can use instead of affording a detailer.

  • The reason a detail shop is a great avenue is because the detailer has a rotary high speed buffer. This builds friction and friction generates heat. YOU WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. Why? because the heat (along with the buffing compound "designed for the rotary buffer") reduces or eliminates scratches my melting a tiny thin layer of the top layer of paint and "FILLS" in the scratches.

  • Another tip you want to use when even determining if you want to spend the extra money to have your paint buffed is a scratch test. Use your fingernail to feel the scratches. If you can feel the scratches with your fingernail, then no amount of buffing will eliminate these scratches, only reduce them.

  • scratches are surface scratches. understand the detailing but thought there was an easy fix. liked the tutorial on windows and thought you had something else for the everyday man.

  • I'll be posting more How To videos in the future, AND one on Buffing.
