Tax-funded party conventions are reserved for the 2 major parties. 3rd parties have to fund their conventions from voluntary donations.

Carl Person is living in fantasy land if he thinks the Democrats and Republicans who currently monopolize our government would not see to it that 3rd parties are similarly excluded from tax-funded election campaigns.

What we need instead is ballot access reform, instant runoff voting, proportional representation, and hand-counted paper ballots.

Nice name there. Would you consider slavery as a necessity for human civilization? What about fiery child sacrifice and parent's tears? Is that necessary for civilization? If your answer is no, and you don't even consider the relevance of the belief, then you're far from empathizing with our leaders. Slavery as it was will only get replaced by another form, and thus new complaints arise. Instead of getting caught up in the details you gotta realize why certain things are done, or not done.
