In reality the guy on the laptop will have been beaten up for being a long haired "fag" and would have had his laptop stolen while the driver did nothing, and the lady wouldn't be able to put her seatbelt on because the clicky bit would have been filled with old chewing gum.
I saw a Youtube video of one of these at the 2011 SEPTA Roadeo and noticed Greyhound used the same steering wheel the older D Series coaches have. I would have thought they would have the same airbag steering wheel the Prevosts have just like other D Series coaches have including D Series commuter coaches.
i remember taking a greyhound from Evansville Indiana to Tampa Florida it was shit, from having a inmate on the bus with a junkie girl snorting pills and some weird lady asking to use my phone so many times.
@WhatsReallyGood941 An inmate would never be on a greyhound bus unless he is an escapee. Inmates mean they are still incarcerated in whatever institution.
Those seats look kinda of comfortable, and seat belts too? I'm putting this one in my fav's. It's been a few years now, but I use to travel on Greyhound a lot from time to time. Two months from now I will travel on Amtrak or Plane. I'll see, haven't decided yet. I think Greyhound is more expensive than Train, maybe.
Is it your policy to remove passengers in the middle of the night, because you don't agree with their views? This is disturbing to many of the 99% who utilize your services daily. The actions of your employee are disgusting. I demand an immediate apology, refund of the fares paid by the stranded 13 in Texas, and termination of Mr. Ainsworth.
I think they're great, but also think it's kinda strange to see a bus with seat belts. Whats the purpose for seat belts? I thought seat belts weren't required. That's awesome that they have plugs to charge phones, ipods and so on.
Do you know that Greyhound charges an $18 fee for 3rd party e-transactions. Over 8,000 people have signed an online petition. Google:
Eliminate the $18 Gift Ticket Fee
for the direct link to the change dot org link.
On 11/21/2011 Greyhound received a very detailed letter from Shawn Ambrose, along with 7,000 signatures, asking Greyhound to eliminate the gift ticket fee. 12/26/2011, Shawn Ambrose hasn't received a response. Ask Greyhound on Facebook why they have not responded.
oh man, Greyhound has a big ass asterisk on their website saying "on select routes" so I'm guessing because they REFUSE to provide details about the bus on the route info (like every other form of transportation) that they aren't this nice in California. from the comments below from 3 days ago, it doesn't look good, anyone know if these are in california yet?
I got on the new bus. the wifi didnt work, the outlets didnt work. the bus stunk. I didnt get a refund. your suppose to get what u pay for I thought. not with grey hound they offer shitty service and have the most assholest but drivers.
@veeseee128 I hope you're not surprised! Hell, I have yet to see ONE of these new buses in California. It's the same old buses I've seen since I was a kid. i would never expect greyhound to modernize. they've been bare bones forever. why change now? you ALWAYS get what you pay for...always
@cbaldwinjr I know right? grey hound could give a flying fuck if we receive good service .they should change ther name to ghetto hound because that lives up to the service and the buses.
@cbaldwinjr oh man that was what I was afraid of. in california too, heading from OC to lodi, can't find out anywhere if the buses have wifi and plugs
@aeonjoey I'm sorry dude...I'm kinda in the same boat, but I'm headed all the way to Saskatchewan, Canada. Amtrak only goes so far lmao. That's who you should've gone with...dunno where in the OC you're in...but Fullerton, Irvine...I am sure there are stops on the way to Union Station in LA you could've taken. Their bus from LA to Bakersfield is MUCH better than a Greyhound and then Bako goes all the way to Lodi. I've been looking too...nothing new from anything I've seen man.
@northshoore, Yes, their are some niiieeeccceee, looking coaches out there but looks mean squat-doddley when it comes to tested, true, and tried performance.
@northshoore, The main coaches you see doing all the short stop, and go runs as well as the long hauls, are the very ones that are the "work horses" of the industry.
@northshoore, because most Euro-buses (not all) will fall apart from under you if you try to push them through the rigors of an inter city-transit style of runs. Most Euro coaches are geared for long haul, with curtains, snack bars and all that "air-liner" amenity stuff.
I rode one of these new buses and I like them. Seatbelts for the first time on a Greyhound bus. Now the seatbelt part is what Greyhound should have installed on the buses long ago. Now the passengers has added safety for incase the bus flips over or if the bus driver has to hit the brakes hard.
@restoreunto I agree, there are alot of idiots that ride Greyhound and make the ride unpleasant for the rest. The thing I hate the most is that they don`t have any direct from city to city service, all the buses stop and every town there is before getting to a major city. That sucks!
Greyhound sucks! They wake you up at 2-3 a.m. to get off the bus, make you wait a long time to get on aboard again and thye make to many stupid stops. The Mexican buses and bus system is the best! They have direct non-stop first class buses that travel from city to city, with tv screens to watch movies and they have the ones that travel through the towns. Their buses are very comfortable and make Greyhound look like crap.

@delacerdaa Well before they installed seatbelts, yes. But now, they have wheelchair lifts and seatbelts on their buses. They still have a lot of work to do, but they are improving. Greyhound does receive many complaints from customers, but they send you a letter stating that they are never satisfied if a customer encounters improper service. They are now creating express runs which run mainly non-stop runs over certain routes.
Go GreyHound. i like the new buses with the paint job. opinion: the driver uniforms are ugly to me.they don't match the bus colors. Thank you for bus transportation. one day i hope to buy an Ameripass ticket and ride from sea to shing sea.
They forgot the tv. Everything looks great especially the seat belts. I never understood why all busses where made with out seat belts. Isn't that against the law? I say tv because not everyone can afford laptops and for those that travel far with kids it would be nice to entertain them with. In Mexico most busses have tvs in them and ride is that much better.
@restoreunto I can relate to that. I wish the driver would step up for the benefit of the passengers once in awhile. Since he is legally responsible for the safety of the bus he would be in a position to do something about it. At least you had leather seats.
i might be taking a greyhound from Indianapolis to Nashville in October or November & i was wondering if they were using the new buses in Indianapolis
These new buses are breaking down as often as the old ones. The wifi is slow barely usable. The leg room isn't that different, and the only true benefits are the outlets for chargers, and the seat belt if you get stuck in the aisle seat and need to sleep. One of these things sent off a red light signal to Dallas and go us stranded in Blythe, California for 6 1/2 hours. Never use greyhound if your trip is longer than 18 hours it torture.
I hate greyhound bus trips, however these new buses were nice. The seats were comfortable, two 110v power outlets for each set of seats, and wifi. I tried to connect to wifi with my netbook on one of these buses, and it had a password on it, and the driver did not know the password. What a let down that was.
Greyhound doesn't need new buses, they need new employees, and new scheduling. Most of the Greyhound employees treat you like shit no matter how old you are, what race you are, what religion you are, or what sex you are. And they are NEVER on time. Screw those bastards, I will never take them again unless they pull the sticks out of their asses.
The people who ride on these buses don't deserve it ., bunch of trashy stink., no showering ., I'm a bus driver myself an been on a greyhound ., would never get back on one.. I drive a C2045 Vanhool an love it ..
Yesterday I saw one of the 2011s at Baltimores artscape which was 86132. They say eventually all of the coaches will look like that coach. So does Greyhound eventually plan to be an all Prevost fleet or are they only referring to the interior?
Also I think the new 2011 Prevost X345s have arrived. I spotted 86122 and 86123 in Philadelphia and possibly 86104 also in Philadelphia. They look the same on the exterior but the engine sounds more clear then on the 2009s and to my understanding the 2011s have Volvo D13 as the 2009s have Detroit Diesel Series 60 which was discontinued this model year.
It turns out the new 2011 Bolt Bus MCIs were of courtesy of Peter Pan Trailways. So basically the coaches are Peter Pan Trailways fitted however they were retrofitted with the driver safety barriers as the rest of the Greyhound/Bolt bus fleet. And they do have the same extra legroom as Greyhound now gets along with seatbelts. But I think the seats are a different design and the interior is green.
i know you can get the X3-45s on the Montreal-Ottawa route but whats the chances of getting a D4505 like this on them? also your laws on photography, am i aloud to film or photograph them outside of the terminal ( public streets ) i am a Transit enthusiasts who photographs all sorts of buses
SERIOUSLY?! You guys need SEAT BELTS in coaches?! That D4505's already safe enough. I thought that kind of things were for cars and vans... You see any seatbelts in Coach Canada? NO.
@GordonFreemanD40 The seatbelts were added as a safety feature. However it is optional for passengers to wear them if they wish to do so. I rode the Bolt Bus from NY to Philadelphia Wednesday. I put the seatbelt on and it felt uncomfortable so I decided to remove it and not be buckled. So its your choice if you choose to wear your seatbelt. You dont really have to if you dont want to. And I never wear my seatbelt on a motor coach.
Have they started using the new buses for trips from toronto? I am leaving on monday going to newark from toronto. Hope they are using the new buses for the trip :)
@cheystar There are new buses being used in this area, but we recommend you contact the terminal prior to departure to learn if you’ll be traveling on a new bus.
@IH3ARTN30N There are baggage checks before boarding. The legal age for possession of tobacco products is 18. Please do not bring cigarettes on your trip if you are under age.
also on that sanitary issue with your bus restrooms, in the 21st century if you can't give your passengers sanitary bathrooms on a bus, then you deserve to continually lose business. You should've sacrificed Wi-Fi for more cleaner conditions on your buses. Get a real toilet, toilet paper, and some hand sanitizer on your buses. Showing off your new buses while failing to address critical issues doesn't solve anything.
No offense but the bathrooms are crappy because people miss use them. My school(and my school was a nice school) built a new 9th grade building and by the end of the year the building looked older than what it was, people just treat things like shit these days.
@beautyquenn101 the Greyhound I was on had no toilet tissue and no soap and the bathroom still smelled even after the bus was at Greyhound terminal. They just don't do a good job maitaning their bathrooms on that bus. They brag about their new buses yet their bathrooms on the bus are still low quality. Good for shorter runs of 2-3 hours but wouldn't rely on that service going cross country. Drive or better yet fly. Don't see many lines competing with Greyhound.
The greyhound bus isn't something I normally use(infact I have never even been on one), I was just pointing out that bathrooms could look bad due to other passengers. And in this day and age, I couldn't see people not having their own hand sanitizer I have one in my purse at all times.
@beautyquenn101 LOL, it is not the people. It is those responsible for maintaining the buses. Looks can also be deceiving so I wouldn't go blaming other passengers. Those buses pull into terminals across the U.S. and there is ample time to clean the bathrooms. Unfortunately I don't think they maintain 24/7 cleaning crews at all terminals. No excuse. It's cheap transportation and you get what you pay for but please do it right when utilizing new buses.
I understand what you are saying, but I also know that sometimes it is the people who ruin the bathrooms, as mentioned before, I have seen a brand new building, be ruined by irresponsible teenagers in one year.
@beautyquenn101 you'll notice in this video alone that they didn't show the bathroom on the bus. Now why is that? Believe me I've seen better on some luxury coaches I've been on. The least Greyhound could do is provide better toilets and an f'n sink to wash your hands and expand the room of their bathrooms. Greyhound fucked up big time. Oh wow lookie new bus. The overlooked their own bathrooms. More power to anyone that can travel Greyhound cross country.
@beautyquenn101 I'd rather I saw a competing bus line that offered better accomodations than Greyhound. I just don't see that competition and it is not like any real money has been put back into Greyhound. In the 21st century if Greyhounds still have unkempt bathrooms, then it is a company on worth doing little or no business with. You also take your chances: Drivers falling asless and crashing the bus, insane/homicidal passengers, and my personal favorite the fat lady sitting right next 2u.
But there isn't a competing bus line, you want one so badly, than start one yourself(not to be a smart ass, but seriously it would be good for greyhound to have competition, too bad all people do is compalin instead of doing something about it). But just to let you know. Small connection airlines are no better, pilots fall asleep, planes crash, people are crazy sometimes on airplanes, and fat people ride planes too.
@beautyquenn101 LOL and I agree with what you just said. And yes some airline restrooms are no better but lo and behold at least those restrooms have soap and a sink. I think the major issue with Greyhound is that they are so inefficient and don't go in all directions. Sounds like they just don't have the money to cover the U.S. properly kinda sad. No you are not a smart ass at all.
Well the train or planes aren't really any better. I live on one end of Ga, and atl and my hometown are on another. If I ever wanted to get to atl/hometown without driving, the tain, bus, or plane are my only options if take a train it isn't a straight shoot to atl(a 4 hour drive is a two day trip practically on train). On a plane it is the same thing, it should be a 30 min. flight instead it is like 4 hours. The bus is the only option, and there isn't a luxury option.
And connection flights(supposedly the cheaper option) are scary there is actually a documentary on how scary they are. Practically no regulation at all.
@beautyquenn101 depends on who you fly. Southwest, Jet Blue, Alaska, and the new kid on the block: Allegiant. I do believe no airline is immune to problems. I was flying many years ago as well. No issues. Made my connections (then again I took the first flights of the morning which was probably a smart way to do it). I don't travel heavily anymore. All I can say is, it can be a heck of a lot better across the board when it comes to any form of travel. Plenty of fault/blame to go around.
I love flying have no problem with it, but I don't want to really pay for a ticket going to like chicago, just to get to atl, I want a straight shoot to atl. I haven't travled sinced I moved, but my only true options to get from one area of ga to another is thru driving or a bus.
@beautyquenn101 I hear what you are saying in having to go clear out of your way to make a connection. I've been able to manage my flights accordingly to minimize and/or avoid that. FYI, I miss Georgia. Saw Atlanta a few times and heavily drove the area. That and I miss my Waffle House fix because we don't have that in my neck of the woods and that is a shocker. They would probably make a killing in my area. I want my sweet tea and boiled peanuts back. Where I'm at SUCKS!!!!
How does one not have a waffle house? Strange. I'm not that into the sweet tea you get here because it is too sweet, arizona's and micky d's is sweet enough for me. However I agree about everything else you are saying there should be more bus lines and rails. Unfortunatly amtrak sold their rails to non-commercial rails so they basically suck, they need to do something now, not later like Obama is planning to do.
@beautyquenn101 none out here in CA or in the Pacific northwest. Waffle House did get as far as AZ and if they were to come into CA, then that would be some real competition. You have no ideal how much I miss having my hashbrowns done in a variety of ways. FYI a little factoid about Waffle House, in Indiana they had to change their name to Waffle Steak because there was a family owned business called Waffle House. I agree a lot should have been done over prior decades.
Didn't know that fact about waffle house, but I go there all the time, and I signed up for specials, because I like them so much. Their hashbrowns aren't as crispy as I'd like them to be though. Waffle house is certainly popular here(I believe there was like 5 just in my small area alone), wanted to move to CA, but that fact makes me rethink that. Do they not have steak and shake either? Can't live without that either.
@beautyquenn101 Steak and Shake is another negative which is unfortunate and I did have access to one where I was living awhile back. I'm suprised CA is not as diverse as it should be when it comes to chain eateries and I think Waffle House or Steak and Shake would do extremely well out this way. I'm kinda spoiled because of all the traveling that I did long ago. CA does have its good food however I just like having the additional food franchises around. Perhaps one day when things r better.
@beautyquenn101 my preferred meal at Waffle House was the chop steak and poached eggs well done. Though at this time of night I could certainly go for a Waffle House right about now, sit in a booth or at the counter and just reflect on life in general. Other parts of the U.S. do have their charm. CA? Depends on where you go. Believe me it's tempting to relocate elsewhere just to be around a Waffle House. Guess I should try for AZ.
Well I'm just picky about fast food places, I like good fast food. waffle house, steak and shake, chick fi la, zaxbys fast food places like those are more my style. I'm not a mcdonalds, burger king, hardees type of girl. I don't eat fast food much, but when I do, I want it to be good.
@beautyquenn101 I hear ya there. I got my spots where I'm at though and I'm picky when it comes to certain types of food when eating out. I really can't come back with any good fast food chains. You might have heard of In 'N Out burger ah but that is nothing but name recognition. I'd rather I have Steak n Shake vs. In 'N Out. Breakfast I'm picky on: Waffle House or bust. Been a long time since I've walked into Chic and can't remember ever walking into Zaxbys.
@beautyquenn101 I seem to recall Folks restaurant and a few chain steakhouses. I was getting paid good money back then when I was traveling. I've always liked fried okra out that way.
Not sure if I have been to folks(probably have been there but it was like ten years ago) and I actually used to live up the street from steak and shake.
@beautyquenn101 I wasn't too far off from a Steak and Shake at one time to but that was clearly over a decade ago. As far as the southeast, that is a very well developed area with plenty to do. I'm just sorry that area can be subjected to severe weather. While beautiful to view from far away, it is still pretty dangerous weather to be caught in and I wish you well out that way in your pursuits. Just if you ever leave the southeast, do consider where you are moving to etc etc.
@beautyquenn101 to be honest I don't miss where I grew up. Ever since getting out into the real world, I found my niche and eventually I'll get back out that way. For now, just making due where I'm at. Great chatting with you tonight. Stay cool out that way.
Thanks, good chatting with you too. I like Ga, but I'm not much for America and its Govt. After school I'm actually contemplating moving out of the U.S.A
@beautyquenn101 yeah I agree to some effect about America in general and where corrupted govt has taken us. Though parts of America still have their charm. All the more reason to stay in school and graduate with a major that enables you settle somewhere else in the world. Give yourself that option but in the meantime enjoy where you are at and hope you get to where you are going. Good luck. Peace.
@beautyquenn101 when considering moving to a new area (something I didn't do all to well) know what is around you and scope out the area. Google maps is a great tool as it can give you some snap shots of your ideal moving location. For myself, I'm stuck where I'm at now for the moment. After seeing what I've seen though in the U.S., some places I'm living at just don't do it for me. Not enough around and I know too much.
@beautyquenn101 Atlanta woudl be a very excellent choice. GA has a charm all its own. If you ever have the money to go and relax locally in the area, then you might want to try Chateau Elan sometime. I also had the opportunity to hike Stone Mtn as well and it is just something being able to look straght into dwntwn Atl from the top of Stone Mtn. Tried to go with a company based out of there a long time ago but nothing ever materialized.
@beautyquenn101 to level with you I'm kinda shocked no one has ever looked into opening up a Waffle House franchise in CA or in the Pacific Northwest. First person to do that would make a killing however location off a major interstate is everything. Hmm something I can research for kicks. Waffle House franchise in CA, who knew?
@beautyquenn101 I traveled heavily many years ago so I'm familiar with a good many places. From a local standpoint if you are going 2-3 hours tops, then the bus might suit your needs or a car if you want to get there slightly faster. Another part of the south I liked were areas in and around Birmingham and Columbia. Wish I could find my way back to these places and I have that option if I so choose to exercise it.
@beautyquenn101 if I had to take it a step further, all I have to say is our infrastructure is a joke and is only good as its weakest link and there are plenty of weak links regardless of what form of travel you choose. Risks can only be minimized but never truly eliminated. The mimimal your risk the greater your chances of surviving your trip. Most of it is common sense however somethings are just out of your control. Still a scenic country though with a rich history.
@beautyquenn101 we could use more bus lines going in all directions and more rails and seriously have some competition with the airlines for a change. The only difference being with a better ground infrastructure that you can go direct for once. I'd love not to have to rely on a car as much and just get around more directly to my destinations. Unfortunately it is just not like that.. Perhaps one day however it seems we've squandered the prior decades getting somethign decent developed.
@beautyquenn101 and don't get me started on some of their terminals which are NOT 24/7 or the times you have to wait for some of these rides in remote areas. It is just not good customer service. At last check they didn't treat their drivers all too well either Some of the terminals are in fact shady across the country so one has to watch their back at all times.
on the example I used, from Reno to Vegas, that is a 7 hour trip minimal and I find it ridiculous that you can't put a dedicated bus running up and down U.S 95 going more directly. Same goes for remote areas like Redding to Reno where you shouldn't have to connect in Sacramento. Your routing system is in serious need of revision as it is just not economical for people looking travel more directly to their destinations.
why are your restrooms still unsanitary on your buses? Also I think I the big problem with your entire network is your failure to go more directly to your destinations. Having to go out of my way to make a connection to a destination say like from Reno to Vegas by way of Salt Lake City is not going direct and there would seem to be better effective alternatives. Your system is still not very efficient in some aspects.
I HAVE BEEN TRAVELING WITH GREYHOUND FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS . I HAVE TRAVELED 12 TIMES . I HAVE 2 SIMPLE QUESTIONS FOR YOU! WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON DRIVERS ON CELL PHONES? MY LAST TRIP WE HAD A DRIVER TALKING ON TWO SELL PHONES AT ONE TIME ! SOME OF MY FELLOW RIDERS WHERE GETTING CONCERNED WHEN HE ALMOST SWERVED INTO ANOTHER LANE AND THEN AFTER A OLDER GENTLEMEN(WHO LATER TO FIND OUT WAS A TRUCK DRIVER) TOLD HIM HE NEEDED TO GET OFF THE PHONES,OR HE WOULD REPORT HIM! WHAT CAN BE DONE IN FUTURE?
I noticed today Bolt Bus 0871. It is an MCI D4505. Is that among Greyhounds 2011 order or is it a 2010 model? And are Bolt Buses D4505s the same on the interior as Greyhounds regarding features?
this is great! please make all the new buses with non fabric seats, i have got bedbegs 2 times from a greyhound and scabies!! and non tinted windows, and a little opening for fresh, air would make it sooo much more comfy!! i get claustrophobic and not always room in the front of the bus by the driver and big window! and i take it from cali to nyc!! and showers at your terminals would be great!!
I am a bus enthusiast and just joined your Flickr group. What is your policy on photography at the stations? also, can photos of your subsidiaries like Crucero USA or Autobuses Americanos USA be posted?
@jfs1988 Great to hear from you! We don’t currently allow any filming in our terminal unless it is media with a release form or pre-approved for movie production purposes.
@GoGreyhound Hello, I though Americans care about their freedom?
What a fucking joke... Seriously, "what is your policy on photography at the stations?" - you Sir, are free to do whatever you want.
Greyhound already prohibits photographing, videotaping, audiotaping, or otherwise exposing any part of the system while on board its own coaches or within its system-operated stations, unless permission is obtained, although this is often ignored by passengers.

Well... nothing new in bus service in United States.... In Mexico 21 years ago the bus service has been very personalized: coach (better than Greyhound), First Class, Bussines Class and First Luxury... Several bus lines served around the country in these services.... ADO PLATINO, Primera Plus, ETN, Omnibus de Mexico, Turistar... Look up a advirstment typing : Llega de Lujo, llega ADO Platino and you will see how is the Bus service in Mexico...

I don't like these new buses, they stink real bad. You have feeling like riding whole trip on the toilet. G-Models (the white ones) are the best in how they go and in design.
@mmffl123456 Thanks for this question, mmffl123456. In 2007, Greyhound was acquired by FirstGroup, a transit company headquartered in the UK. The new buses were designed and released after the acquisition, and the American flag was removed because Greyhound is now part of a global organization!
I was reading about the Greyhound Student dress code. Is that only for student Greyhound drivers or all Greyhound drivers? I know it stated about white collared shirts and black ties. As well as no hats and no coats while driving. And Ive seen Greyhounds uniforms do have hats. So are drivers allowed to wear them while driving?

@veeseee128 I hope you're not surprised! Hell, I have yet to see ONE of these new buses in California. It's the same old buses I've seen since I was a kid. i would never expect greyhound to modernize. they've been bare bones forever. why change now? you ALWAYS get what you pay for...always

@cbaldwinjr I know right? grey hound could give a flying fuck if we receive good service .they should change ther name to ghetto hound because that lives up to the service and the buses.

I've been looking too...nothing new from anything I've seen man.

doggsho 2 months ago
@northshoore, The main coaches you see doing all the short stop, and go runs as well as the long hauls, are the very ones that are the "work horses" of the industry.
doggsho 2 months ago
@northshoore, because most Euro-buses (not all) will fall apart from under you if you try to push them through the rigors of an inter city-transit style of runs. Most Euro coaches are geared for long haul, with curtains, snack bars and all that "air-liner" amenity stuff.

I rode one of these new buses and I like them. Seatbelts for the first time on a Greyhound bus. Now the seatbelt part is what Greyhound should have installed on the buses long ago. Now the passengers has added safety for incase the bus flips over or if the bus driver has to hit the brakes hard.
Streetcar1743 5 months ago

Matyme 5 months ago
@restoreunto I can relate to that. I wish the driver would step up for the benefit of the passengers once in awhile. Since he is legally responsible for the safety of the bus he would be in a position to do something about it. At least you had leather seats.

Yesterday I saw one of the 2011s at Baltimores artscape which was 86132. They say eventually all of the coaches will look like that coach. So does Greyhound eventually plan to be an all Prevost fleet or are they only referring to the interior?
MrWill1985 7 months ago
Also I think the new 2011 Prevost X345s have arrived. I spotted 86122 and 86123 in Philadelphia and possibly 86104 also in Philadelphia. They look the same on the exterior but the engine sounds more clear then on the 2009s and to my understanding the 2011s have Volvo D13 as the 2009s have Detroit Diesel Series 60 which was discontinued this model year.
MrWill1985 7 months ago
It turns out the new 2011 Bolt Bus MCIs were of courtesy of Peter Pan Trailways. So basically the coaches are Peter Pan Trailways fitted however they were retrofitted with the driver safety barriers as the rest of the Greyhound/Bolt bus fleet. And they do have the same extra legroom as Greyhound now gets along with seatbelts. But I think the seats are a different design and the interior is green.

SERIOUSLY?! You guys need SEAT BELTS in coaches?! That D4505's already safe enough. I thought that kind of things were for cars and vans... You see any seatbelts in Coach Canada? NO.
GordonFreemanD40 8 months ago
@GordonFreemanD40 The seatbelts were added as a safety feature. However it is optional for passengers to wear them if they wish to do so. I rode the Bolt Bus from NY to Philadelphia Wednesday. I put the seatbelt on and it felt uncomfortable so I decided to remove it and not be buckled. So its your choice if you choose to wear your seatbelt. You dont really have to if you dont want to. And I never wear my seatbelt on a motor coach.

major problem with this vid, you will notice how they don't shoot the bus restroom as if Greyhound has something to hide.
shaithis80 8 months ago
also on that sanitary issue with your bus restrooms, in the 21st century if you can't give your passengers sanitary bathrooms on a bus, then you deserve to continually lose business. You should've sacrificed Wi-Fi for more cleaner conditions on your buses. Get a real toilet, toilet paper, and some hand sanitizer on your buses. Showing off your new buses while failing to address critical issues doesn't solve anything.
shaithis80 8 months ago
@shaithis80
No offense but the bathrooms are crappy because people miss use them. My school(and my school was a nice school) built a new 9th grade building and by the end of the year the building looked older than what it was, people just treat things like shit these days.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 the Greyhound I was on had no toilet tissue and no soap and the bathroom still smelled even after the bus was at Greyhound terminal. They just don't do a good job maitaning their bathrooms on that bus. They brag about their new buses yet their bathrooms on the bus are still low quality. Good for shorter runs of 2-3 hours but wouldn't rely on that service going cross country. Drive or better yet fly. Don't see many lines competing with Greyhound.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
The greyhound bus isn't something I normally use(infact I have never even been on one), I was just pointing out that bathrooms could look bad due to other passengers. And in this day and age, I couldn't see people not having their own hand sanitizer I have one in my purse at all times.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 LOL, it is not the people. It is those responsible for maintaining the buses. Looks can also be deceiving so I wouldn't go blaming other passengers. Those buses pull into terminals across the U.S. and there is ample time to clean the bathrooms. Unfortunately I don't think they maintain 24/7 cleaning crews at all terminals. No excuse. It's cheap transportation and you get what you pay for but please do it right when utilizing new buses.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
I understand what you are saying, but I also know that sometimes it is the people who ruin the bathrooms, as mentioned before, I have seen a brand new building, be ruined by irresponsible teenagers in one year.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 you'll notice in this video alone that they didn't show the bathroom on the bus. Now why is that? Believe me I've seen better on some luxury coaches I've been on. The least Greyhound could do is provide better toilets and an f'n sink to wash your hands and expand the room of their bathrooms. Greyhound fucked up big time. Oh wow lookie new bus. The overlooked their own bathrooms. More power to anyone that can travel Greyhound cross country.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
wouldn't it be distasteful to show the bathrooms? Not classy at all.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 I'd rather I saw a competing bus line that offered better accomodations than Greyhound. I just don't see that competition and it is not like any real money has been put back into Greyhound. In the 21st century if Greyhounds still have unkempt bathrooms, then it is a company on worth doing little or no business with. You also take your chances: Drivers falling asless and crashing the bus, insane/homicidal passengers, and my personal favorite the fat lady sitting right next 2u.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
But there isn't a competing bus line, you want one so badly, than start one yourself(not to be a smart ass, but seriously it would be good for greyhound to have competition, too bad all people do is compalin instead of doing something about it). But just to let you know. Small connection airlines are no better, pilots fall asleep, planes crash, people are crazy sometimes on airplanes, and fat people ride planes too.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 LOL and I agree with what you just said. And yes some airline restrooms are no better but lo and behold at least those restrooms have soap and a sink. I think the major issue with Greyhound is that they are so inefficient and don't go in all directions. Sounds like they just don't have the money to cover the U.S. properly kinda sad. No you are not a smart ass at all.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
The bus is the only option, and there isn't a luxury option.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
And connection flights(supposedly the cheaper option) are scary there is actually a documentary on how scary they are. Practically no regulation at all.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 depends on who you fly. Southwest, Jet Blue, Alaska, and the new kid on the block: Allegiant. I do believe no airline is immune to problems. I was flying many years ago as well. No issues. Made my connections (then again I took the first flights of the morning which was probably a smart way to do it). I don't travel heavily anymore. All I can say is, it can be a heck of a lot better across the board when it comes to any form of travel. Plenty of fault/blame to go around.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
I love flying have no problem with it, but I don't want to really pay for a ticket going to like chicago, just to get to atl, I want a straight shoot to atl. I haven't travled sinced I moved, but my only true options to get from one area of ga to another is thru driving or a bus.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 I hear what you are saying in having to go clear out of your way to make a connection. I've been able to manage my flights accordingly to minimize and/or avoid that. FYI, I miss Georgia. Saw Atlanta a few times and heavily drove the area. That and I miss my Waffle House fix because we don't have that in my neck of the woods and that is a shocker. They would probably make a killing in my area. I want my sweet tea and boiled peanuts back. Where I'm at SUCKS!!!!
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
How does one not have a waffle house? Strange. I'm not that into the sweet tea you get here because it is too sweet, arizona's and micky d's is sweet enough for me. However I agree about everything else you are saying there should be more bus lines and rails. Unfortunatly amtrak sold their rails to non-commercial rails so they basically suck, they need to do something now, not later like Obama is planning to do.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 none out here in CA or in the Pacific northwest. Waffle House did get as far as AZ and if they were to come into CA, then that would be some real competition. You have no ideal how much I miss having my hashbrowns done in a variety of ways. FYI a little factoid about Waffle House, in Indiana they had to change their name to Waffle Steak because there was a family owned business called Waffle House. I agree a lot should have been done over prior decades.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
Can't live without that either.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 Steak and Shake is another negative which is unfortunate and I did have access to one where I was living awhile back. I'm suprised CA is not as diverse as it should be when it comes to chain eateries and I think Waffle House or Steak and Shake would do extremely well out this way. I'm kinda spoiled because of all the traveling that I did long ago. CA does have its good food however I just like having the additional food franchises around. Perhaps one day when things r better.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 my preferred meal at Waffle House was the chop steak and poached eggs well done. Though at this time of night I could certainly go for a Waffle House right about now, sit in a booth or at the counter and just reflect on life in general. Other parts of the U.S. do have their charm. CA? Depends on where you go. Believe me it's tempting to relocate elsewhere just to be around a Waffle House. Guess I should try for AZ.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@shaithis80
Well I'm just picky about fast food places, I like good fast food. waffle house, steak and shake, chick fi la, zaxbys fast food places like those are more my style. I'm not a mcdonalds, burger king, hardees type of girl. I don't eat fast food much, but when I do, I want it to be good.
beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 I hear ya there. I got my spots where I'm at though and I'm picky when it comes to certain types of food when eating out. I really can't come back with any good fast food chains. Just if you ever leave the southeast, do consider where you are moving to etc etc.

beautyquenn101 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 yeah I agree to some effect about America in general and where corrupted govt has taken us. Though parts of America still have their charm. All the more reason to stay in school and graduate with a major that enables you settle somewhere else in the world. Give yourself that option but in the meantime enjoy where you are at and hope you get to where you are going. Good luck. Peace.
shaithis80 6 months ago

Waffle House franchise in CA, who knew?
shaithis80 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 I traveled heavily many years ago so I'm familiar with a good many places. From a local standpoint if you are going 2-3 hours tops, then the bus might suit your needs or a car if you want to get there slightly faster. Another part of the south I liked were areas in and around Birmingham and Columbia. Wish I could find my way back to these places and I have that option if I so choose to exercise it.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 if I had to take it a step further, all I have to say is our infrastructure is a joke and is only good as its weakest link and there are plenty of weak links regardless of what form of travel you choose. Risks can only be minimized but never truly eliminated. The mimimal your risk the greater your chances of surviving your trip. Most of it is common sense however somethings are just out of your control. Still a scenic country though with a rich history.
shaithis80 6 months ago
@beautyquenn101 we could use more bus lines going in all directions and more rails and seriously have some competition with the airlines for a change. The only difference being with a better ground infrastructure that you can go direct for once. I'd love not to have to rely on a car as much and just get around more directly to my destinations. Unfortunately it is just not like that.. Perhaps one day however it seems we've squandered the prior decades getting somethign decent developed.
shaithis80 6 months ago

What is your policy on photography at the stations? also, can photos of your subsidiaries like Crucero USA or Autobuses Americanos USA be posted?
jfs1988 11 months ago
@jfs1988 Great to hear from you! We don’t currently allow any filming in our terminal unless it is media with a release form or pre-approved for movie production purposes.

@GoGreyhound Great video showcasing the new buses. Looks like it was filmed in Portland, OR. But how about filming inside the bus itself?

@GoGreyhound Hello, I though Americans care about their freedom?
What a fucking joke... Seriously, "what is your policy on photography at the stations?" - you Sir, are free to do whatever you want.
Greyhound already prohibits photographing, videotaping, audiotaping, or otherwise exposing any part of the system while on board its own coaches or within its system-operated stations, unless permission is obtained, although this is often ignored by passengers.

New Greyhound Bus Technology,
1. Lane Keep Assist.
2. Lane Departure warning system.
3. Hydrogen with on board generator.
4. Back up camera with ultra sonic sensors.
5. Two Person Crew for resting.

I don't like these new buses, they stink real bad. You have feeling like riding whole trip on the toilet. G-Models (the white ones) are the best in how they go and in design.

@wtoiqufalkshglaksghe their bus bathrooms still suck to this day.

Nice bus, I saw one in newark today, I like the new rear bumber design but major question, Where is the Ameican flag?
mmffl123456 1 year ago
@mmffl123456 Thanks for this question, mmffl123456. In 2007, Greyhound was acquired by FirstGroup, a transit company headquartered in the UK. The new buses were designed and released after the acquisition, and the American flag was removed because Greyhound is now part of a global organization!

@GoGreyhound That is sorry as hell, you are doing business in the United States and as such the buses should display the American Flag!
clarinetman100 11 months ago
@GoGreyhound There should still be an American flag, Greyhound is an American Icon.
