  • Nazis, "the master...my brother?", scrolls of Rassilon... I really wonder what this original script looked like.

  • I liked Paul's Doctor but I'm so glad that this script wasn't used. The script that they ended up using wasn't great but this bears no resemblance to Doctor Who.

  • @dustbiter445 I'd say that's because that's when this was filmed...

  • he reminds me of Paul Young from Mike and the mechanics here. circa 1995

  • @exclusiveforus I've heard, and I'm sure story wise it is... But let's face it, it's not canon. Susan IS the Doctor's Grandchild, Time Lords WERE once children, and they DO age normally. Yet, I still have it on my IPad as an Ebook, and I plan to read it... After about 100 other Doctor Who ebooks...

  • @martang66 I find that to be a stereotype. I think British people have trouble doing it to... I mean, did we write TimeLash, or Dimentions in Time, or Lungbarrow? No, you did, and I's rather watch the TV movie or this than any of those...

  • @OttselSpy24 lungbarrow is really good!

  • @OttselSpy24 We also invented Doctor Who and we also wrote Genesis of the Daleks,Tomb of the Cyberman,Curse of fenric, Blink etc

  • @Nigellusdarkchild I know, I'm just saying that Americans mess up just as much as British people do.

  • The script is appallingly dreadfully horrible. Americans genuinely cannot do Doctor Who...I pray they never get a proper chance. "I find you beautiful..." HIDEOUS.

  • Ohh... He is so sweet in this movie... But what episod is it? Something from audio series or what?

  • @Astroni800 This is his audition for the TV Movie.

  • Wanted to say too that although I'm glad they didn't have the US Series (as it would have trounced the Classic Series and we'd never have gotten the 9/10/11 Doctors and magnificent series we've had from RTD and The Moff) that this clip does sound intriguing. At the time I was upset at no series, and glad in retrospect, but perhaps they could revive some of these ideas in a different way - a quest for ancient lost Time Lords sounds way cool - perhaps ones who escaped House in The Drs Wife? Guess

  • @Chillo - this is PM's real hair - just saw an interview and he said when showed up to film the tv movie he had since had his hair cut - and the producers were furious (thus the hated wig was brought in!). PM said he was later upset that Chris E. was allowed to have his shaved hair and that had he had his way (Paul M) he'd have been all sorts of "9th Doctorish" but as the 8th back then! :-)

  • is that a wig on his head or is that his real hair? I just read that he hated wearing his wig in the movie...

  • WE WANT MORE McGANN!!!!!!!!

  • What a badass.

  • God that would have been one cheesy Who episode

  • holy crap! the master is decended from rassilon?!

  • poor sap only got a movie

  • I love PAUL MCGANN!

  • I am glad this isn't canon...

  • He's such a beautiful man!!! OMG!!!! ~swoon~

  • This is awesome but I'm so glad it didn't get made.

  • now I am glad RTD made Doctor Who!!

  • does anyone know what script they were reading from? is this an audio play? I would love to find it. Help out this Whovian in distress! cheers!

  • @Jolly11808 It would seem to be the John Leekley script for the TV Movie, with many elements that were not picked up when they decided to make it a continuation of the TV series, such as the Doctor and the Master being brothers.

  • "Excited, Paul! Excited!" :D

  • Fingers crossed for the reunion in 2013.

  • gosh he was soooooooo cute back then....

  • @kamwrites Thank you for the rude and patronising remark. You clearly didn't understand what I was saying, "chicky". Mr McGann is about 25 years my senior and, regardless of that fact and the fact he is the same age as my Dad, I think he's attractive. Sorry I had to make my point crystal clear for you, that is kind of sad.

  • @ladycatkin Now, now, wveryone calm down.

  • McGann needs more Doc Who time. One movie isn't enough.

  • oy...his hair is gorgeous...he's gorgeous :o

  • Uhhh, just incredibly gorgeous and still is. I don't care that he's a year younger than my Dad, he's just beautiful! *faints dramatically*

  • @ladycatkin Typical young response. ;) Men are gorgeous at all ages, chicky. Not just young ones.

  • he seems more imature than other doctors, more emotional

  • such beautiful eyes, and voice

  • Nice!

  • Hm?

    Excited!

    Oh! I think I have!!!

  • These scripts should have become actual episodes of Doctor Who. Paul Mcgann should have got a televised series for his doctor all together!!

  • given eccleston's reluctance to make an appearance, hopefuly mcgann will when the anniversary show comes around.

  • @YuutubeLosesAgainlol Well, there's a great difference between those two. Christopher hasn't done a single thing out of his thirteen episodes, while Mcgann has the record for the most. I mean- hell, even Tom Baker's propably gonna be doing the 50th show, but Chris refuses.

  • @YuutubeLosesAgainlol I HOPE SO LOL :) !

  • @YuutubeLosesAgainlol Stevie Muppet has little to no respect for anything DW before 2005. So, I sincerely hope none of the first 8 doctors return, he'll just give them stupid lines and insult them like in Timecrash. Our only hope is that a good writer takes charge before 2013. Anyway all the nuvians that watch nu-hu won't recognise the original Dr.'s. When Timecrash came out, they were all like: Who's that? The old one?

  • it's not that he lacks respect, i think he just has a more realistic view about it. it was a corny, campy sci-fi series that had a lot of charm and great characters. people hail it as the first coming of christ when in reality the old series did have some quality problems, and not just concerning the effects or anything, generally things like pacing. you're also painting new who fans with a very, very broad brush. myself and many others can name each of the other 8 and recognize them by face.

  • @YuutubeLosesAgainlol It was not corny or campy. nu-hu is cheesy, touchy-feely though. Nu-hu has quality problems! The original DW is a quality show - you should actually watch it sometimes, instead of just believing propaganda. Good pacing is talking fast without saying anything & running around without going anywhere I suppose. Wow, you can recognise the Dr.'s? What an achievement! A crap effect is when you have a cgi Dalek go up the stairs in 2005 instead of a REAL one, like in 1988!!!!

  • oh look, maniacal fanboy ahoy! MY OPINIONS ARE FACTS! MY TASTES>YOUR TASTES! get over yourself you fucking loon.

  • @YuutubeLosesAgainlol Just actually watch the original series. It might widen your vocabulary so that you don't have to use swear words. It is pretty much a fact that a real Dalek going up the stairs is a better effect than just using cgi, which (and this IS a fact) is the fastest and cheapest of all the effects, that's why they use it, NOT because it looks better. I suppose campy and corny would be a companion dying & it actually being said instead of companions dying & then coming back 2 life.

  • @LegoDaleks I think you are way off base about Moffat. He is a classic Whovian

  • @eckesg2 No, he is a nuvian and a RTD worshipper. He said in an interview how he truly feels about the original series, he has less respect for it than ReTarD. In Timecrash all he does is insult the 5th Dr. and make him look foolish.

  • @LegDalek That was all Tennant's idea.

Moffet does say he likes the classic series better, and that is because it IS better. Mainly because the episodes were longer and thus much more fleshed out. And you know what, it's the job of a multi-doctor storie to moch each of the Doctors. David also mocks Peter. Oh, of coarse you must not have seen any Multi-Doctor story pre-time crash, because you're a "nuvian," or as actuall fans of the series like to call you guys, "noobs." Please stop Spamming.

  • @OttselSpy24 I'm the opposite of a nuvian. 5 didn't get a proper chance to poke fun at 10. The criticism & poking fun were only going in one direction. He even made fun of his glasses, when clearly the only reason RTD has 10 wear glasses is cuz 5 did it. When on earth did Muppet say he liked the original better? He's said quite the opposite actually. I hope they never make another multi-Dr. story, it just wouldn't be the same, especially without the 2nd Dr. FYI: "n00b" is computernerd-speak.

  • "Shut! Up! There is something very wrong with my tardis, and I've got to do something about it very very quickly, and it would help, it really would help, if there wasn't some skinny idiot ranting in my face about every single thing that happens to be in front of him!" If you don't call that "poking fun"...

Now look, first off, the first three Doctors are dead. Second, if the only Doctors featured in the special were 10 and 11, then they might as well move it to 2015 for a "10th annivursary."

  • @OttselSpy24 Good idea about the 2015 thing. Only nu-hu will prob. not run that long. Don't you think I know that the first three actors who played the Dr. are dead? That's why I said it wouldn't be the same without Patrick Troughton, because he isn't around anymore AND because he has been in all the past multi-doctor stories: Three Doctors, Five Doctors & Two Doctors.

  • @LegoDaleks Uh, no. no, no, no, that would be a load of crap on a stick. Besides. Doctor Who will not be cancelled by 2015 as you suggest, and besides, Tom Baker has said he would want to be in the 50th speial, so it's be worth it. Now, once more, stop spamming.

  • @OttselSpy24 Crap on a stick is an accurate description of a multi-doctor story in nu-hu. Didn't you see what Muppet did to Davison in Timecrash??? It was bloody awful and insulting. And the 5th one was Muppet's favourite, Tom's his least favourite, so imagine what sorts of awful lines he would give him.

We can only hope that nu-hu doesn't go on that long. Hopefully Matt leaves soon & his successors make like Eccleston & only stick around for 1 season. Then they would have to end it.

  • @Daleks Now I won't have that. Doctor Who is the longest running, most succcsessful sCience fiction program of all time, and if you are a true fan you will, once more, STOP SPAMMING, and not talk of you cancellation fetishes.

Besides, for the last time, HE DIDN't MOCK 5 in Time crash! He has tennant say that he inspired him, he had him look intelligent whilst 10 looked like a "skinny grinning, idiot," and furthermore, IT'S 50th ann. DOCTOR WHO? WITH 7 DOCTORS, HOW COULD YOU GO WRONG? NO WAY!

  • @MillenniumDude I call him radio doctor!!?!

  • @ejcmoorhouse lol touche

  • @MillenniumDude no i'm not I jsut call him radio doctor because most of his adventures are audio!!?!

  • Look at McGann selling the shit out of that drivel about human mothers and half-brothers and Grandpa Borusas. He's so good I can ALMOST phase out the rest of the crap and just watch him in awe. Almost, mind, although they could've had Laurence Olivier play the Doctor and I still wouldn't buy all those tired, half-assed ideas about his mother being human and the Master being his brother and so on. A good actor can go a long way to save a bad film, but even he/she can't save a bad script.

  • @Saisinkolimonadin That's 90s schlock for you! Watching this, my brain keeps hoping they deliberately spewed out weak crap just to have SOMETHING to work with in an audition. And the fact it's unbelievably uncharacteristic with the literary themes of the narrative just makes it more of a challenge to act with a straight face, right?

Still, I like Paul McGann. I don't know why they made him wear a wig--his hair looks great here.

  • @ZaffireWolf I think McGann has said in some interviews that they cast him partly because of his hair, but never told him about that and when it came to actually filming the movie, he had cut his hair short not knowing that they wanted it long. So that's why he had to wear that wig he hated so much - too bad really, I like his hair here and in the movie. Here's hoping for McGann, wigs and all, in 2013!

  • @Saisinkolimonadin Personally as a fanatic Whovian myself, I'll never understand why people get so defensive over the half human thing. So what if the Doctor is half human? He's still more Time Lord than human so would that even matter a jot? It would explain why he loves Earth and humans so dearly if his mother was a human herself. But now it seems every Doctor Who writer and his mum are trying to retcon this. I couldn't care less either way. Same for the Doctor/Grace kiss.

  • @Kaagh178 It's cliche to make him half human. Like most American sic-fi they always use Star Trek as the thing they base it on. So the the half human thing is old news, cuz they did that decades ago with Spock's character. So it doesn't seem Doctor Whoish, just like the kiss. I like when the Master dresses up like the original Master would have. The Movie is actually truer to the original series than nu-hu.

  • @LegoDaleks Yeah, the old Master both acted camp and DRESSED camp especially in Anthony Ainley's case. But John Simm still captured the charisma, suavity and OTT Master personality perfectly. It still confuses me why fans complained over the movie kiss and yet not all the kisses+romantic/sexual tension that's included in the new series between the Doctor and his companions.

  • @Kaagh178 The movie was garbage, but compared to nu-hu it's gold. Get the picture? Every Whovian who hates the kiss in the movie also hates all the kissing in nu-hu as well as the sexual tension! Cuz it's totally out of character. RTD wrote all the kissing in, cuz he wants to live through the actors, he wants to snog Tennant himself & also cuz he's a soap opera fanatic. Anyway the original master never acted camp, he acted well. Simm, on the other hand, is just an extra who got above himself.

  • @LegoDaleks I like the movie, the new series and John Simm JUST as much as the classic series. Sure its changed but so do all franchises over time. And yes the Master did act camp during his Ainley persona (not Roger Delgado mind), but was also a cunning, dastardly, suave and even psychotic gentleman. John Simm recreated a villain you couldn't help but enjoy despite the underhanded deeds he committed. Just as the Master should be. As for RTD, I agree he should restrain himself sometimes.

  • @Kaagh178 It's changed the characters 2 much & made it untrue to the original. The original run went on for 26 years & changed hands often but somehow, even without internet&DVD's, managed to stay true. BBCTV in general back then was better, now it's written like an American cartoon with sex references. Have U seen the random bits they put in slow-moe for no reason, just like hollywood? Have U noticed that its always really dark with either a red, blue or green light shining on their faces?

  • @LegoDaleks Do you have literally nothing better to do with your life than spam DW videos with tripe no sane person gives the remotest happy flying fig about?

  • @LegoDaleks i think they explained that as a ruse, not the truth. and i don't know why people consider it an American movie. yes it was funded by Americans, and set in America, but the writers, director, and producers were british if i remember correctly

  • @Saisinkolimonadin BTW, the brother connection has been hinted between the Doctor and the Master in the past like in 'Planet of Fire'.

  • I gave this video a thumbs up on the basis of the description alone.

  • Gosh, he's beautiful...
