It's, I believe, Shin Megami Tensei If... which is a gaiden released after 1 and 2. Unlike 1 and 2, it had a Guardian system that served as the predecessor to the Persona system (looks like this main character is being protected by Shiva at 0:12 ). I can't tell which version it is, but as Bakutakamine wrote, it looks like it might be the on the GBA...
@FarelTheGecko World of Devil Summoner and Persona is created through events of SMT If..., which happen before SMT2 due to Raidou 40th fighting Raidou 14th.
SFC版はクトゥルー相手に地道にLV上げしてましたがLV90超えた辺りでセーブデータが吹っ飛んだ思い出

@Sigma1395 I heard people call IF a predesessor to Persona since many aspects of it were continued in Persona and evolved

アキラは狭間に成り代わって魔人と化したので、狭間を圧倒する強さが必要でした。
ですから、ラストボスの狭間が弱く感じるのは、ストーリーの上で必要なんです。
つまり「魔人皇との最終決戦では、既にアキラは狭間を越えていた」と。
チャーリー編では、狭間は強敵でしたよね。当時の攻略本に書いてました。
