  • Thumbs up if you heard the "Solder!" scream in the background. ^^

  • Kipkay don't need no human friends!

  • press 8 for i did it

  • @jacisin85 8

  • What you're soldered is a mono microphone, which will not create a binaural effect

  • @nrdesign1991 The jack he's using has 3 contacts: Left+, Right+ and Common Negative. That way you get two seperate audio channels. :)

  • @gosmiti He just solders the two wires to one connector.

  • @nrdesign1991 Ahh, I see. I didn't notice that.

  • i'm not shure if you get the binaural effect if you wire both positive wires to the same positive connection on that stereo jack... but i'm pretty shure that you don't, its mono sound anyway and mono sound makes no sense with binaural recording rite?

  • @ffKingcreole Indeed, It's a stereo jack, but both microphone outputs seem to be soldered to just 1 pin, meaning you'd get, at best, summed mono output on either the left or right channel. Also, these electret mics need a power supply, around 3-9V supplied via a suitable resistor and then capacitive coupling to remove this DC from the output, so the only thing I can think that you could use this with is a PC soundcard mic input, which has this supply, but is mono anyhow!

  • jab!!! JABER!!!!

  • omg he said pearl jam i love them

  • heatshrink tubing inside heatshrink tubing???

    HEATSHRINK-CEPTION!!!

  • @nicksfans123 thats why i keep running this in my head, what he did makes no sense

  • 1:44 someone is screaming!

  • 1:44

  • dude, it's tot metal alloy. It's solder.

  • @MachineExperiment1 IDK it just is

  • @GreenPois0nKilla Shut uuuup! >:(

  • @Shadoweaver407 SPAM!

  • @GreenPois0nKilla How is my previous comment spam? Please explain.

  • @Shadoweaver407 NOOO! Shut uuuup! >:(

  • @GreenPois0nKilla Fine, if you're going to be a douche about it, i'm blocking you.

  • @Shadoweaver407 man, Im kidding, why can't you take a joke?

  • @GreenPois0nKilla ... everyone knows

  • @GreenPois0nKilla THAT IS SO COOL!!!

  • @GreenPois0nKilla amamzing

  • @GreenPois0nKilla NO SHIT

  • @GreenPois0nKilla omfg dude thats been there forever... it loads automagically if a video is loading.. just press any direction key on your computer while that circle.. thingy with the dots is spinning.

  • @GreenPois0nKilla i know that at least 1 year and it doesnt need to be in 0:00

  • @GreenPois0nKilla ok thats really old :l

  • @GreenPois0nKilla dude ive known this for something like two years and almost every youtuber knows that too

  • @GreenPois0nKilla admit it. half of you tried that.

  • THAT IS JUST CREEPY

  • he just made mics for i-dosers....

  • 1:45 SOLDER!!!

  • @scarehorror98 what tf=he fuck is a solder its SOLDIER

  • @PutLettersHere if u watch kipkay, u wold know what solder means. it how u weld 2 wire 2gather

  • @scarehorror98 i know wut solder means im just messing with you

  • someone screams at 1:44 twice xD

  • I was hoping that you'd give a sample of what the audio sounds like... too bad.

  • Brainda (Did I spell right?) Is on a youtube channel called "In Quotations" Made by a guy named Whiteboy7thst.

  • @oswalina1 I heard boner xD

  • @ventusz the guy is saying sol-der when kipkay says sod-er

  • 1:45 someone screamed wtf

  • why whould i do that?.... kipkay...please make somethink that enyones can do

  • Comment removed

  • @nicksfans123 You're a fucking idiot. It's metal. All he's using it for is to draw current in the direction he wants. That's like saying because the 1st and 4th pin on a standard USB interface is the positive and negative terminals that those are the ONLY ones that can carry positive and negative.

  • 0:51 kitty!

  • sony vegas in the computer :D

  • where in florida do you live

  • fuck yeah he's back bitches

  • I don't think i would like to record a bunch of garbly gook round me.

  • HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTSSSSSSHRINK TUUUUUUUUBING

  • #lol #talking

  • You actually made a vid after the truth wristband said u were lying lol

  • brainda

  • @jamieboyrockon I think kipkay is the one who shouted "soulder!" everytime kipkay says souder

  • You have two mic's, one on the left and one on the right. Why do you solder them both at the same connection when you have a stereo plug????

The result will be even better in stereo!

  • @calmatosport hey man, can you explain that to me? how do you get the stereo image when only one terminal and ground is used? I'm kind of struggling with this experiment, I just get the sound of out one speaker, for obvious reasons.

  • @Knightmetal The jack plug kipkay uses is a stereo plug. Most audio recording devices can record in stereo, so why don't use it?

You have two wires from each mic. Solder two of the wires together and solder them to the ground of the plug (the longest pin seen in the back at 1:58) Then solder the remaining wire from the mic's to the left and the other the right pin. Kipkay only solders both to the left one. If you have done this you should have stereo sound.

  • @calmatosport thanks for the reply, actually the problem I have is different, I found out today. I soldered both mics to ground and left and right channel to their respective terminals in the plug but I just found out that my laptop computer has a monaural input, that's why I can't get that stereo image, when I hook up the mics I can only hear one speaker, the other one is dead.

  • i named my styrofoam head too

his name is oscar and he has a moustache of human hair

    no joke

  • WTH is that noise 1:44

  • I wonder why he chose to call 'solder' instead 'metal alloy in this video?

  • SOLDER!!!

  • metal alloy. hm, good term for SOLDER :)) :D

  • people will probaly know your recording them if they see the mics

  • brainda

  • or u could just buy the new apple headphones with a mic

  • wtf he doens't show if it works well or not?

  • he uses a condensor microphone....the where is the circuit..? U soldered both the stereo pair as if he solder a mono cardioid mic....this is no use dont ever try this ...will not work

  • wat was that in the background it sounded like somebody saying soldider

  • you can do that with any kind of head phones! with no work done. to try this plug it in to the micro phone spot in your computer

  • wat was that sound at like 1:49

    just hear it

  • lol, did you know you can do the same thing with a pair of already made headphones lol

  • lol @ 'SOLDER' XD

  • 1:43 wat wat that in the background??

  • Comment removed

  • @ponyboy556 hahahahahahahahaha

  • Did you pry that head off from the recent project:How to make your own sex doll.?

  • Did you pry that head off from the recent project:How to make your own sexy doll.?

  • Kipkay has a big nose.

  • @Lax14IsCool who cares? :-D

  • Can u use on iPod touch?

  • .....you know what he does with Brenda at night...

  • whos buster ??

  • @MrHIIMYOMAMA a Dummy from Mythbusters

  • wait a sec, cant we just take some headphones, open the earbud parts, rip out the speakers and replace them with the mics? that would remove all that heatshrinking and whatnot

  • lol 1:46 some one yells solder

  • at 1:49 wat was dat noise in the backround?

  • @ConnorRAwsome just a troll saying soulder instead of solder. lmao.

  • @ConnorRAwsome A bird?

  • hmm heat gun ... sounds like a hair dryer

  • so the intro says right, okay, no?

  • @ponyboy556 yea

  • What yells when he says "solder"?

  • it busters wife! omfg he should blow her up !

  • Lol 1:56 "hot tool"

  • i have a really hot tool... a soldering iron you pervs!! jeezus

  • Seriously.. the way this project was wired up, you wouldn't get even basic stereo, much less Binaural. Then we could start to talk about how poor the quality of sound would be, since the wires they're using aren't twisted around each other, or shielded (by a braided or foil metal sheath), which are both absolutely imperative for audio circuts to work without suffering from EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference). Also, sticking 2 $10 radioshack mics upside your head doesnt address HRTF (look it up).

  • @jonny12key Ok, seriously.. the way this project is wired up, doesn't mean it is supposed to be HD (look it up); he never said that it had great quality, its just a fun, binaural mic set. These Weekend projects are only supposed to be fun, if you would like to create a better binaural mic set, then do so and create a video better than this.

  • @futuresoldier7 WRONG. What I posted is bare minimum stuff.. not "HD" (whatever that means, for audio??) IF you wire the 2 mic elements TOGETHER, then it's NOT 2 circuts (bi, or TWO); it's 1 circut (uni, or ONE). Cant have BI-naural sound, with UNI-aural wiring. Also, my weekend time is in short supply, I sure dont want to waste it building something that's wires may pick up AM radio stations better than the delicate sounds i'm trying to hear, binaurally. The design is FLAWED, not "too simple".

  • @futuresoldier7 ACTUALLY, what's being wastefully assembled here in this project, would probably give results more closely resembling an intermittant Crystal Radio Set, than a Binaural mic set. People would be better off just going ahead and intentionally building a little Crystal Radio set for a weekend project.

    C-R-Y-S-T-A-L R-A-D-I-O S-E-T...

    Look. It. Up.

    Dude.

  • i farded watching this

  • dont join the positive leads. just sauder one to the right lead on the stereo jack, and the other to the left lead on the jack to make it sound realistic.

  • 1:48 me too i forget to put the casing

  • lol at the person shouting SOLDER

  • Didn't you just make a simple mono recording device with two mics? I mean you joined both the negative and positive wires of the mics... :/

  • @ventusz I don't think that would work. no capacitor, no resistor, no power source, no ground, this is a joke or this guys retarded... there would be two single lead conductors to pin 2 and 3 of an xlrm and a single to ground on pin 1 for most efficient use, use a dual conductor braided shield xlr cable.

  • @mikechecks I think it would work if you connect it to a stereo jack like in the video but you shouldn't connect both pairs together, only the negative I think. (or the positive, I'm not sure which is the common wire the stereo mic's are using. And it should work without any power source, why not? Normal mics that you can connect to the pc wont need a power supply. It get's the needed power source from the pc's connector where you plug in the mic. Now it's just two mics ..

  • buster gust got his wife taken away from him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol solder! in the background

  • im eather hearin ''HOMER" or "SOLDER" the way it sounds and not said...i thought it was my phone for a second

  • @mlwy45 i heard shoulder lol

  • I LOVE HEAT SHRINK TUBING

  • @treehouseman3 true dat if u burn it if makes a cool fuse

  • your intro and outro is binural

  • i just heard a ''homer'' voice at 1:46

  • Kipkay is fckin epic, he dominates his job so bad

  • @denniswarcrafter1 he dominates your mom aswell

  • that just shows you how the binaural effect sounds like

  • o ye

  • was someone shouting "soulder!" in the background?

    1:45

  • yeah...weird...

  • i do not know? LOL

  • think so!

  • @jamieboyrockon Yes, a bit weird..

  • @jamieboyrockon HEs yelling "SOTTER" or "SODDER" or w/e it is to connect wires

  • @TeamRuneFtw Well, yes. I'm rather curious as to why he added it in though. Haha.

  • @jamieboyrockon

    It was his cat.. o.O

  • @jamieboyrockon yeh i herd that..?

  • @jamieboyrockon also in 1:49

  • @jamieboyrockon yes they did buddy yes they did

  • @Lokito999able Thank you, Captain Obvious.

  • @jamieboyrockon Their was!

  • 1:44 turn up sound there noise in backround :)

  • yeap!

  • plug a pair of earbuds into the mic jack and open audacity and set up a stereo recording to get this effect also

  • LOL PAUSE AT 0:06 HAHAHAHA

  • you need to attach the lead to separate channels search the original project on google

  • search for virtual barber shop for an example of this!

  • Why would you use two microphones with a stereo output and solder them to a single lead on the output. Just making it a mono. Why?!

  • Watch the whole video.. 2:15

  • To make the right effect, one should NOT join both the positive and negative wires inside the jack! That will make it a boring mono signal. Instead join the negative ones on the negative part of the plug (the largest part) and connect left side to the tip and right to the middle ring. Then you will get stereo and the right effect..

  • KITTY!!!

  • i want to do this project but i need to use the 4 connection 35 mm (1/8") plug. What needs to changed?

  • lol 01:44 SOLDER XD

  • ubove the make magazine there is a ling picture that says makers shed how do you make one

  • SOLDER! xD

  • Brain-da?

  • LOL... nice video! :) Thank you it was very informative.

The LOL part was for the corrections that were added in the background for the word solder :D Nice touch! :D

  • And I've been a jackass for not realising that you've already been hammered a lot for this (o.o)

  • kip kay u should hav recorded somthing from these mics so we could check it out

  • wouldn't everyone need headphones then, wat ever thats a good idea

  • If I use an audio jack splitter with two identical microphone will it works the same way?

  • good

  • who cares who ppl pronounce solder it dont matter

  • It is spelled Solder but it does sound like sodder!!! check radio shack if you don't believe me

  • lol in 1:44 aND 1:48 if u hear good and hear in back ground u can hear somthing like "Bannger" ????? WTF??

  • @DavidRockin1 its solder

  • not it's not

  • Y does everybody think it's "sodder" or"soldier"!!!

    OMFG! it's SOLDER!!!!!!

Americans pronounce it sodder but it is solder!!!!!!

  • 1:48 SOILDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sounded like ''BonnerR!!'' lmao xD

  • he said solder not SOILDER play the video back your wrong

  • SOLDER! Not saulder

  • No actually it is Solder.

  • i think it say homer xD
