@renfieldvonklauss Only one track out of the entire Social Network soundtrack was based on a classical song, the rest of the tracks are all original, which wouldn't disqualify The Social Network in any way.

@renfieldvonklauss I think the acadamey rules are that a certain percentage of the score has to be original for it to receive nomination. I'm not sure what that percentage is though, and i'm sure its one most ppl aren't happy with. i don't think one song would have DQ'd reznor in this case. Mansell's black swan score was for the most part based on the original tchiakovsky music.

I see nothing wrong with this video, everyone has their own tastes. I personally loved the Social Network, both the film and the soundtrack. You don't, that's fair enough.

The Social Network does NOT define my generation. The score was mediocre compared to How to Train Your Dragon and Inception. The only award nomination TSN deserved that night was Best Director.

Social Network had the best score, hands down.

I seriously doubt Trent Reznor, an independent musician who has severed all commercial ties with recording labels, would have managed to 'Rig' the awards ceremony. People who follow that train of thought in my opinion are the same type of people that wear tin foil on their heads to avoid having their minds read.

But i do agree, time is a brilliant song. listen to it almost every day.
