  • It appears jennifer Anniston copied Brians haircut which she became famous for later

another rip off, can't people of the now generation come up with their own styles and ideas or do they have to copy everything which has already been done.

  • If Brian wouldn't had been in the front (not seeing what the others did), he'd problably be lying on the floor laughing with tears. Don't really want to know what Stevie said to Brian at 1:51. Probably something about the "very excited" audience. But Brian had a hard time concentrating on the song and not laughing out loud. Look at Andy at 1:56 - isn't it Funny How SWEET Coco Can Be???

  • the unforgetable song was the beginning of the raising star(s) > (The) SWEET !!!

  • @Uwirubi was around 12 years old when this song came out..........lol

  • Those people are so fucking boring . It would have been nice if one of the band just lost it and started throwing cocoa in their fucking faces .

  • Looks like a bunch of Germans in the audience with their usual response, i.e. what the fuck is going on here ? Entertainenzeement ? Zees eez not possible, because vee are all a bunch of meezerabellen besterds ! ;-)

  • They were really bubble gum, and then suddenly glam.

  • Bin zwar absoluter Brianfan aber auch Steve hat was, er hat ein lustiges Lächeln und ist immer am strahlen. Er sieht hier echt toll aus

  • this was all Nicky Chin and Mike Chapman "hit stuff" if you want to know what the Sweet realy was listen to de "b" side of there singles.....much rougher and better, I still miss them......

  • awesome

  • if i was in that audience id wake them up a bit steve looks like he cant believe it after all they are the sweet not opera...

  • Such a versatile of genre :) Love them

  • Sweet weren't really a Punk group. And the heavy tunes they did because they simplay wanted to try something new. I guess you can't compare the Sweet with Punks. Take the Sex Pistols for instance, take them! But don't take the Sweet! Sweet were simply the Sweet. As Andy once said in an interview, you could put them into every shape! Just put them into the Sweet Shape!

  • Does listening to today’s music leave you with feelings of anger, dread, anxiety, despair, and mild arousal? Well, our band can change all that. We’ve managed to produce music that will only give you the arousal.

  • Are they saying, "Ca, Ca"? Doo-doo in espanol?

  • sylvie 833 they are glam rock

  • don't think the old farts in the back got it

  • VERY sweeeeeeeeeet! Some pretty good music though!

  • Yeah, this is a real Heavy Rock Group performing in front of a rioting audience. Phew! The true Icons of Glam here and the Godfathers of Punk!

Those were the days..screaming girls in Hotpants...spitting and violence everywhere...wow!

  • Brias voice is soooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • I have got a sister who is 13 years old and she listens only music from the '70s,'80s, little '60s and early '90s.She believes that today's music such as Lady Gaga,Beyonce and Justin Bieber sucks! She wishes someone could write something really good. She loves '70s!!!!! She loves the Sweet!!!!!

    She wants to say that,too:

R.I.P. Brian and Mick. You will always stay alive in our hearts and thoughts.

  • @88alekos

Yes, Youtube by-passes today's pop publicity campaigns, and presents decades of recordings in a timeless zone, where bright young people go for superior classic pop/rock.

  • @88alekos i am happy to be just 17 when Sweet recorded this , but the flip side was much better

  • Sweet Brian!

  • this is the first record I ever bought

  • La unica cancion del rock con un solo de marimba en el medio, genial, ja

  • I agree with ox092. Steve priest made that bass.

  • I love this song sooo much!!!!!

  • Can't believe I found this!!!! First heard it in the UK in 1971. Bought the 45 but forgot what the flip side was. But I remember this. Don't think this ever made it in the US or Canada. Their later stuff like "Love is LIke Oxygen" was great - that was 1978!!! Thanks for posting :)

  • i like it is

  • it looks like that Steve sees fun in everythin ^__^ luckly he shows his cute smile in this video very much :D

  • Los parroquianos no estan ni ahi con los Sweet.

  • chuj ci w kakao oo coł coł

  • What the fuck? Were they performing at a businessman's lunch? Weird...

  • @ShakeySteve1964 HAHAHAHAH

  • girls hair cut!!!

  • @lbustam1 It is called a shag and was unisex. Brain.

  • this is good

  • hilarious , whee did they get the crowd . Was it a promo or something . One of my fav. bands when i was a young fella . Nice to see all their stuff.

  • this was before they could play their instruments, the bass player is strumming it like a guitar, and the drummer totally lost

  • This video is worth watching just to watch Brian. The man was incredibly sexy

  • Bitch slap the idiots watching them into sense!

  • err i'm jealous Steve has a nice Danelectro Longhorn bass. I suppose it's because hes a pro and pros get all the good stuff.

  • The start of the greatest succes in the 70s... Love it!

  • I wonder if they slapped their manager or promoter for making them play to the cast of cocoon. They sure handled it well though lol...

  • ho chi ka ka ho co co :)

  • wholly crap this song just has the memories ot the skin tight bell bottoms, tight fitted silk shirts, platform shoes and long hair back..

What an awesome time it was to be a teenager..

  • I am 17 and my dad listens to them and so do I :-)

  • fantastic song

  • Nostalgie!

  • Rock till you drop

  • and you are so gullible!

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman hahaha!!! They probably heard it somewhere where polish emigrants lives.

Kakao means cocoa but also an... anus. Whole phrase: "chuj ci w kakao (hooy c'i f kaka-o)" or rather occurs in form "chuj ci w dupe" means literaly sth like "dick in your anus (or ass)" and its used in many situations as an insult. I can say it's pretty common in Poland:)))).

  • i was 14 and had just moved to newcastle, it was all slade, d.cassidy, donny osmond, sweet, glitter band, mud, showaddwaddy etc, also bell bottoms, budgie jackets and super high shoes, such great days x

  • There's really a party going on :-)

  • 2:11...it sounds like the Looney Tunes theme song. It starts off with a "Errrrrrrr...." to it.

  • Littlestewie has the best comment !

  • I'm 48 now - can't we just all go back to that time - it felt so good and so Sweet.

  • brian was an alcoholic,he took 13 heart attacks over a few years,terrific guy,sadly missed....yes he is sadly dead,what a voice....

  • my youth,god rest brian,i miss you....

  • is he dead??-

  • "The boys do well considering they are performing to the least excited audience in the history of pop. "

    so true

  • @t3hforgottenmissHell xDD that is soo true XD

  • the audience look like their dissapointed the bingos not started yet. Especially as the top prize is a trip on the titanic!

  • PMSL....After all the time watching this clip I have never noticed the audience.....thanks for pointing them out

  • but the titanic sank in 1912 thats impossible

  • how pedantic of you. right of course but is your speciality questions on the painfully obvious?

  • OMG the audience!!!... no wonder the guys are laughin!!!...

  • @fluffywoof buncha major stiffs and people's grandparents wondering when the bingo game is about to start it appears wondering about the choice of "Dinner Music" chosen for them! Note the polite unsure claps.

  • Sweet was a great band that went through many musical styles. Brian Connolly the best forever!

  • The Sweet is just great!! Best Glam Rock Band ever!

Brian Connolly was the BEST, Rest in Peace!!!

  • It looks like Steve is laughing at the audience, they all are!

  • I think they're laughing cuz they're stoned out of their heads - check out their glazed over eyes - LOL

  • The 'b' side, 'Done me wrong alright' is a fantastic example of what Sweet were really about, not this pop stuff........im sure Done me wrong alright is on here, have a listen :-)

  • "What Sweet were really about, not this pop stuff..." This drives me nuts--we get this all the time, including from Steve Priest. It's like this weird arrogance from the remaining band members and their fans--as though it's necessary to apologize for the pop and accent the rock. Listen, the Sweet were about both pop and rock, and neither is more worthwhile than the other. This light pop is every bit as good as the hard rock they did, and it's a lot more fun than most of the heavy stuff.

  • I totally agree with you!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song fom "Sweet"

  • I have to wonder what kind of bet they lost to wind up playing this gig. Or maybe they owed Lawrence Welk a lot of money. I really feel sorry for these guys

  • its german TV (nord deutscher rundfunk)

  • Funny how Mick, Andy and Steve seem to be almost embarassed being up on stage and Brian is so into this cute song. I especially like part 1:42 and 2:33

  • and what do you know! thats the type of music they played until funny adams! there they started playing REAL heavy metal! FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME!

  • I think "N3" is a German TV station, which might explain why the audience are having SO MUCH FUN !!!!!!

  • I believe its a Dutch TV station.. We have Nederland 1, 2 and 3...

If its true im embarassed by the enthusiasm of the audience xD

  • Dutch or German, i agree it is embarrassing to watch !!!

  • Sweet sure seems to be having a good time :-)

  • What the heck is up with this audience? They look like they couldn't be more bored. Sweet gives a great performance as always, Andy is hilarious!

  • They're at a Bier Festival GODDAMMIT!!

I thought bier makes you happy......

  • I just love old bands! so this is perfect!...i prefer a little heavy-er...lol

I love the random-ness from alot of the older bands...like this one...lol

The lead singer (sorry i dont know their names yet) just cant stand still can he??

  • Lead Singers aint suppose to stand still

  • Yeah i suppose...lol

  • They are/were as follows....

Brian Connolly (not to be confused with the comic Brian Conley O_O LOL)

    Andy Scott

    Steve Priest

    Mick Tucker

    Hope this helps :)

  • Thanks...it does :)...

    Now...next problem...matching names to faces... -_-

    Lol...part of the fun!

  • OK, here goes...

Brian Connolly - lead singer (died 1997)

Andy Scott - guitarist, vocalist, and synthesizer

Steve Priest - bass guitar, keyboard, harmonica, singing

Mick Tucker - drums perhaps? (died 2002)

  • Czy mi się zdaje czy w refrenie słyszę

    Ch*j ci w kakao xD

  • ej ja tez to slysze xD

  • aunque sea playback, los musicos pudieron tratar por lo menos de finjir cantar con mas ganas, el cantante es el unico que lo hace.

  • Brian is so handsome here. (:

  • Another great ditty from Sweet. RIP Brian and Mick.

  • I love this Sweet Reggae song too! I also love their other Reggae song "Poppa Joe". I also love their early Bubblegum music-"Little Willy", "Funny Funny", "Wig Wam Bam"-as well as their hard rockin' songs like "Ballroom Blitz", "Teenage Rampage" and "Fox on the Run"! The Sweet is so versatile-they did all those styles, and did them well! Does anyone know where I can find a copy of Sweet's cover of The Archies' song "Get on the Line"? I know it was on a record with The Pipkins on side B.

  • i my ! punaise , i knew that without knowing the group ! what a surprise ! so long ago ! thanks !

    quel pied !

  • This song and Poppa Joe the best song of them, you shouldn't have change your music line...was so good

  • Great how Mick Tucker playback's the drums.

    Very cool!!!!

The Sweet still does it for me.

  • Steve er så søt i denne videoen. Helt skjønn!

    :-)

  • they had fun while performing

    and had fun while watching

    i love these guys!!!!!!!

  • I had the Action album, I liked the reverse gong effect. Were any of the members gay? just curious.

  • None were or are gay. All were or are married and have children. I realize that is not necessarily an indication of heterosexual, but no... none were gay.

  • I forget the name of the DVD, but it was about Sweet, and Andy Scott was talking alot about thier image saying they were going for the "androgenous" effect. But all of them were chasing the girls around and making the groupie rounds. so i would say that No they probably weren't gay. He mentioned that alot of the other Glam bands took off with the androgenous thing after they made an appearancwe on one of the British music programs. Basically it was a contest to see who go the furtherest with it.

  • Did you all know that the lead singer Brian Connely was the brother of the origonal Taggart?

I grew up with this band al through school ...great memories ,,thanks .

  • someone gave you a thumbs down for your comment,

I guess you meant you grew up listening to sweet all through school? . . .

only Steve Priest is 60 now - and still gigging, his birthday is Feb 23 - the year 1948

  • ?????????????

    omg

  • härliga 70-tal

  • lamest audience ever :D --the band didn't deserve that. it reminds me the "hedwig and the angry inch" venues.

  • Wow, where did you find this song? I have always heard it in original but I couldn`t find it:-)

    Thanks!

  • thins is thit origial....

    is it,

if its not, can someone send me the original please??

  • thanks for showing this video....it brings back mina ungdomsar i sverige for 35 ar sedan. Svunna ungdomsar men fortfarande bra musik.........thanks.........tack

  • Ja, det är otroligt bra trots att det hunnit gå några år. Sweet var mina stora idoler när jag var 7-10 år och Brian min första kärlek!!!

  • The Audience Suck - Where is this? Barnsley?

  • It said at the begiing of the video..Bier Festival..do Barnsley have one?

    Germany you twat !!

  • They definetly weren't gay.....

  • Looking at Steve Priest you couldn't be sure =]

  • Your gay. This band is easily the most underrated band of the 70's. You clearly know nothing. So GO AWAY!

  • actually, you must be gay

  • waar is de tijd Steve Priest was toen mijn fav bij the sweet

  • the lead singer ended up cabbaged

  • Proper cabbaged!Wish I'd seen'em.

  • Oy, wot's "cabbaged" mean?

  • 'cabbage' is a slightly unkind way to say Brian became a wreck, ie a vegetable, in his later years.

  • Maybe he snorted too much "co-co"?

  • Against my better judgement, that made me laugh!

  • Ahh I'm sure Brian would laugh at that too!

  • NO drugs....he drank himself to death. The band did not do drugs.

    Don't spread any bad rumors!!!!!

  • Of COURSE not. No longhaired British rockers in the Seventies did!

  • @rasputin63 shut up -.-'

  • @ramdonpeople

Just keepin' it Real, that's all. I guess you are a big Sweet fan. I wasn't knockin' them. I like 'em, too.

  • @rasputin63 to be honest ... i didnt wrote that O_O .. prolly my sister did .. cause i would never say shut up to some person i dont know

  • @rasputin63 XD

  • Brian more beautiful than ever

  • Halt dei Maul !

  • INCREIBLES

  • Great song, crap audience!!!

  • Remmber this was no 2 for weeks behind Middle of the Road Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep.

    Sweet are Glam Gods.

  • When they have appeared and became known,

And not who did not know still that will be farther

The Sweet Funny Funny Adams - ingenious group!

    Quite healthy optimism cubed

  • Hola....tengo 50 añitos ya y este fue mi primer single de 45 rpm. Me he alegrado mucho al volver a oirlo. Saludos

  • *giggles* go go co co *bopping along*

Before my time too , but I like it :)

  • Same here.

  • This song is weird but such a great song!

  • i half agree with you there hardstylephil i used to think he was the best looking guy in the world to but then along came jon bonjovi what can i say he still looks great at 46 but still got a soft spot for brian always will have happy memories eh

  • hahahah.that's funny hardstylephil.I would have commented the right way but wouldn't want your son going what the hell?.....mom!!!!when he reads his email l.o.l.yeah they were before my time too.but thanks to all those compilation commercials and my dad I knew who they were growing up.

  • My son will kill me. I'm on his posting site - or whatever it's called. Never mind. He's too young to know anything about them - long before his time.

  • 'funny funny was the first record I ever bought when I was 13. I was maadly in love with Brian and was gutted to hear he had passed away. Really sad. Funny thing is when I just watched the old clips I discovered that I still think he's the best looking guy in the world - nearly 40 years on!!

  • in a ranking of the most successful oldies ever in germany this song was ranked in 5th place.

  • 6th Place ;)

  • haha ^^ are you sure? you might be right.. i only remembered it was around the 5th place ^^ i thought that nobody who also saw the show would see my comment here ^^ but okay.. 6th place is not bad either^^.

  • Heavy metal from 1971, isn´t?

  • Brian Connolly the lead singer died a few years ago from alchoholism, what a shame aye. Think the others are still alive, one of them has reformed the band and touring... i think they still are anyway.

  • I'm afraid Mick the lovely drummer is no longer with us too. Guitarist Andy has a band called 'AS Sweet'.

  • surpriseing that the sweet sing this beacuae there songs are mostly GLAM ROCK but this is doiiffrent cool.

  • wow pretty good but i think fox on the run is way beter and ballroom blitz sort of like too happy no dARK ITS LIKE HAIII I THINK THEY COULD OF DID BETTER I LOVE THE SWEET.I WOUND ER IF THERE ALIVE STILL

  • "Hoochie ka-ka ho..???" Man..The Sweet were way ahead of their time and they inspired many "gangster rappers" with their colloquialisms when referring to woman. I can see Snoop Dog or Fitty Cent singing.."hey..! hoochie kak-ka ho..!!....where's my money, ho?"

  • Wonderful i love the sweet

  • ohhh i like steve when his hair was red...thankfully he changes it back. Throughout the song he looks really happy lol..great song

  • It means oh gee, yes yes, oh.

  • The Sweet were my first favourite group (before I moved onto the Bay City Rollers). I loved this song and thought Brian was gorgeous! Still love all their stuff now (and even the BCRs) ... looks like I never grew up!!

  • The one thing, that we all live for,(Hood gee ca ca goo, or something like that.) Whatever it may be. :)

  • A wonderful song written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman this was the bubblegum/teenybop side to Sweet completely different to song's like Fox On The Run,Turn It Down and Action

  • I always wondered about the lyrics in the chorus. It sounds something like "Hood gee ka ka oh" to me. God knows what it means (if anything!).

  • I noticed Steve colored his beautiful RED Hair!Bad mistake.Thank goodness he changed it back! Cute song.Great video clockworklou!

  • first single that i buy at just nine years old.
