  • Is a shame Millions of dollars placed in the desert, they should sell them to other country o donate them instead

  • wealth of U.S. tax payers rotting in desert :(

  • @aeiou772 They are placed in the desert so they doesn't rust, but sure it's sad that they will never fly again

  • Great choice in music.

  • I saw this map at google map, jets fighter i know, F14,F18,F5,F15,F16,A-10,COBRA GUNSHIP, C130, B17, F117, B52, SR71, F4, and the rest are i don't know as far i can see those guy fighter jets, trainers jets, bomber, gunship, transport plane, spy plane.

Man i was thinking those plane might be reserved just in case of all out war. scary equipments.

  • I'd love to see this, but if you're herded around in a bus whats the point???? I wanna get up close, touch & take my own photos.....what a wasted tourism opportunity.

  • all those thoigh planes...i just wanne go there and steal one

  • I wanna punch the guy in the face who thought of this

  • wonder why usa is going broke they are wasting our worlds money on this sort of crap

  • They should turn them into CONDO's or Apartments

How cool would it be to reside in a plane

  • Can't stand when I see graved F 16 :<

  • Kinda makes me sad seeing that, bet they've seen some sights :/

  • Good vid, with a nice, but questionable sound track.

  • is this all used for spare parts? and is it me or do most planes look like they are new with plastic on it? amazing how much is there:O

  • Prob a silly question, would any of these aircraft have seen active service in Vietnam? And would said aircraft likley ever see active service again?

  • @Bolooks hei man, im really interesting in those two questions too. Deam, but there is sooo lot of planes out there.. Wondering if world war would be raging on and resources coming to an end, would the be used for protection or whatever the situation is? ....

  • how much for the f16? il only use it for demonstation purposes...

btw where can i get jet fuel?

  • Don't be fooled by this being a graveyard! All planes are still in full operation and serviced all the time! Look at the engine covers on the fighters and choppers all covered for a purpose so you never to get to see in them!! The F4's still have fully loaded fuel pods just like the F16's!

All it takes is the green light from Obama and these will be back in the air if another major war breaks out like WW2.

  • now thats what you would need to conqurer the world 5500 of planes :))

  • R.I.P.

  • They are more so preserved than a grave yard, if you had the money and wanted to restore one you could. lessons of the past learn't from the loss of other great aircraft. personally I wouldn't mind my own F16 minus weapons of course, but with long range or extended fuel tanks. mind you I don't know if I could even fly the damn thing. :-)

  • is it possible to take a plane? i mean, their just sitting there!

  • Отношение правительства США к истории свой авиации-это лишь наглядный пример отношения к своему народу к победе научной мысли.Величайшая оценка стране.

  • Music's nice. Fitting. "Time to say goodbye" played at my mother's funeral and my mother-in-law's too. Brings a lump to the throat, believe me.....

  • 0:35 F-4

    1:02 C-130

    1:05 MH-53

    2:03 B-52

    2:39 AH-1W

    2:40 UH-1H

    3:35 C-5

    3:49 F-16

  • no word in my dictionary can explain it....

  • whats the song called

  • @sam4973

The song is called Time to say goodbye by Andrea Broccoli :)

  • by the way, i've searched a soviet equivalent on google earth once but didn't found one. does anyone know the location of a similar graveyard in russia ?

  • @PierreBraquemard by the way a russian told me, the soviet didnt made graveyard. he also told me an interesting site is the monino museu (музей в Монино).

  • sweet, i wanted to see this place other than in picture and satellite view.

why do they keep these old stuff and spend money to dissasemble them while they could destroy them with bombs or throwing them in the ocean ?

  • @PierreBraquemard The metal is worth money ,and they sell spare parts to other countries .

  • @mwillblade ah ok. i missed that point.

  • @PierreBraquemard The parts are worth a lot of money.. Just like why junkyards have wrecked trucks and cars....

  • Steal me a tomcat XD

  • Why don't the RAF just call up our American cousins and ask for a few chinooks? I'd bet we'd could get them much cheaper than off boeing. We supposedly haven't got enough choppers for Afghanistan, and yet these lot are rusting in the desert.

  • It hurts :(

  • what song is this

  • The Aircrafts are sealed and ready to use !

Not a graveyard but a backbone.

  • Ok, let's correct one thing. This is clearly not an "Aircraft Graveyard". These aircraft are all pickeled. This means that they are kept in a condition that they can fly within 6 hours of being called. The US military keeps thousands of such airplanes.

If these were junked airplanes they would have not spent the money on all the covering and the engines would have already been removed.

  • I was a crewmember on the C-141 at 2:12.

  • Одна ядерная бомба и пиздец всей этой вашей хуйне!

  • quick math says there's about 1.1 TRILLION dollars worth of aircraft there.....gotta love how our Government loves to throw money right out the window..

  • @briandrum1

Well they're scraping them, so its not a complete waste.

  • Agree

  • @briandrum1 yea thats true, but what are ya guna do :P

  • So much money and resources thrown to the trash, a tribute to the "American way of life!!". Millions and millions of dollars dedicated to war, and now just a wasteland. If all those resources had been put into helping the poor, creating jobs or saving the planet...............

What a hurtful waste, a tribute to human wrath and stupidity.

  • Go fuck a tree. Fucking liberal.

  • Go start a war fucking proud.

  • Haha liberals have the worst comebacks.

  • Reublican redneck here, don´t mess with America or my christan children.

  • Actually I am from Miami and Atheist, try again.

  • because they keep them there to remember the wars and the other main events that happened in the USA many years ago.

  • why can't they just fix the planes and take them on a spin! Sor sell parts from the planes!

  • Oh but they do sell the spare parts, quite often

  • and why are some parts covered in white? are those planes mummified? lol

  • They are....even in the desert you get some elements that harm the planes

  • what a waste...you wonder why the USA is bankrupt

  • why would they use old planes thought, would cost even more money to run = more bankrupt

  • why use them ,they are outdated anyway,I am talking about when they built them. Tax dollars not at work, but the Germans and Japanese are not here.Thats a good thing,I think.

  • Comment removed

  • Why make so many thats just a plane waste no pun intended

  • all the f-4's and the c-141's are bye bye now. the c-5's are slowly being cut up now.

  • wow id love a jobe in the recycling plant imagine the fuel left in them ,to recycle

  • Zomg, they are lined up so perfectly!

  • yeah i think i could spend a day or two checking out the place ! too bad its restricted to only bus tours !

  • id like 2 hueys and a side of f-4 please ! lol!

  • Airplane graveyards are bargin busters (wierdly) heck mythbusters bought a whole DC 3 or 5 for just over $6,000.... for a plane!!! thats a lot cheaper than building a house lol

  • yeah astronut68 id like 2 cobras and a double order of a-4 skyhawk plz ...lol!

  • yes,id like 3 hueys with a side of f-4 please !

  • haha!

  • planes have feelings too

  • this is amazing

  • Great job on the video ! They really seem to have a lot of F-4's At least they were getting their drone package installed and being shot down for pratice. Free up some space

  • love the music crazy waste of money id love to visit the place!!!

  • lol i want to go down there and steal a plane xD

  • @ingz1993 , How will do that? Get a tow truck or something?

  • @zeesham13 when you are so super awesome like me you dont need a truck.

  • @ingz1993 , You can just lift 13 tonne fighter jet by using strength, obviously you need something to tow it with.

  • @zeesham13 the only thing i need is a pair of gloves^^

  • @ingz1993 , Come on be realistic.

  • @zeesham13 well my first post was not that serious^^

  • @ingz1993 ya steal a plane and die trying to fly it thats why its called a gravyard lolz

  • @ingz1993 some one did try, they just got there truck stuck coz the f 14 was to heavy

  • I spent my 1st 18 months in the Air Force there (1969-70) It was pretty interesting. The farther back towards the mountains you go,the older and weirder the stuff gets.

    Thanks for posting!

  • I would love to take my bf here!

  • Seeing all of those C-141s there seems so odd. it seems like yesterday I was flying in them. amazingly, they had better Reliability rates than the C5's the entire 4 years I was active duty. It was my favorite aircraft. I liked it better than the C-17.

  • Wow seems like a lot of wasted tax money there.

  • Well, we're doing more with better aircraft today than 30 years ago; we aren't driving 1970's cars today either!

This parked airframes are providing parts for those aircraft types that are still flying too, around the world, in other air forces ...

  • imagine the amount of innocent people them there birds are after killing,id say vietnamese people mostly

  • There are no innocent people in a war, that's why it's in a country's best interest not to start one. Once a country has joined in war, there are no innocents. You kill enough people and break enough stuff until one side decides not to fight any longer.

  • Dead or just sleeping??

  • is this in the us

  • duboised31 $500 lol its probably worth more than that in scrap aluminum and copper

  • lol

  • This song is just beautiful, who is singing it?

  • Lol, I live less than 10 minutes away from there.

  • They all look so sad. I just wanna take one home with me. Too bad I only have a sport pilot licence.

  • i agree entirely with you

  • I have been to the AMARC and hope to go there again again. It's an odd sort of attraction because as an aviation geek my eyes start misting up every time I see it, as a photog my mind runs rampant with all the photo possibilities I see if you gave me 1 hour off the bus, as fan of history my thoughts turn to the all the events these magnificent aircraft have seen. Even sadder than the AMRARC is is scrappers yards all around the area. A4s, F105s, C47s and 100s of others all in pieces.

  • what a waste

  • T_T my loves in aircraft graveyard

  • um what more can a person say about all this wasted potemtial here?

  • are any of them for sale, like the choppers. just for recreational use. kind of like the p51's are ww2

  • This is a really sad video all those beautiful aircraft just sitting there, the music is so fitting

  • These planes/bombers/helicopters are still functioning and they are well covered up against corrosions and dust. I think 70% of these were made during the AMERICAN-RUSSIAN conflict of 1960's and the RUSSIAN-AFGHAN war of 1970's to 1990's(WAR CONFIDENTIALS:TOP SECRET).

  • perfect song for this video.

  • Can you please tell me the name of this beautiful italian song? thanks!

  • Con Te Partiro by Andrea Boccelli

  • port te volare is another

  • -Salutes- those planes protected America and they get sent there, not right if you ask me id still have them in the air.

  • The pilot's protected America, the planes were their weapon. ;)

Just like if you saw a M16 or something, it's the soldier that did everything.

  • Why are they covered up?? are they just sitting there ready for the next big one??

  • There covered up so they are preserved every plane works theere engines are still in tacked they so yeah they are getting them ready in case if shit hits the fan.

  • they are covered up for preservation, and most do have engines, but they are all used as drones. we make them remote controlled and then shoot them down.

  • whats a Tomcat? is that a F1-11? also are most those jets stil got their engines in or taken out? thanks from New Zealand

  • f-111 is aardvark, f-14 is tomcat. both have speed venerable wings

  • Wow! That looks amazing.

There's ten times the firepower in that graveyard than Britain has in active service.

  • Yeah well it's all decomissioned.

  • hell,,,what's it take to get one of those Beechcrafts out of there? I know there's an AD on the spar if your going to do aerobatics,,,but I still want one. Any advice on rescuing one of those old beechcrafts?

  • You can get one for $500.00 through the military disposal corporation.

  • dude,,,,would you explain to me in detail how I get one of the old Beech's through the military disposal corporation. I've never heard of it. I'd go buy a hand full of these birds if that's the case. Could you give me a website or number please.

  • This is a great video. For anyone who knows alot about aircraft this is a real heart breaker. I am from the UK so many of these aircraft didnt server over here but ive seen many of them at the International Air Tattoo at Fairford and it is a crying shame they are all put here and left to collect dust. So many amazing aircraft i cannot even begin to describe, Thankyou all for countless years of service.

  • This is so sad, it made me cry.

  • Don't be ridiculous. How can this make you cry ?!

  • they served their nation well, they were the best at their time. so sad to see such things. i love aircraft and this looks grim. nice music

"it's time to say goodbye" - andrea bocelli & sarah brightman

  • OMG at 2:30 All the wonderful Beechcrafts !

  • That white stuff on them is a protective coating? I thought those were ghost planes.

  • Rest in peace. You all served us well!

  • What are they being saved for? Will they ever be used again or sold?

  • Many are scrap and will never be used. However, some of the later model stuff (F-18's, 16's and so on) have the avionics and engines removed and are wrapped in protective coating so they can be re-instated if needed. The F-4's get shot up as unmanned drones.

  • Thats sad.

  • lol sleeping airplanes they may be used again for world war 3? or the "sleeping planes" may wake up because i heard that they may be takinged aparrt and built new prototypes or somethings like that?

  • So all the planes will be cut up and sold for scrap?

  • sweet

  • Amen to that.

Whats the name of the song?

  • The artist is Andrea Bocelli, song: Con te partiro, he is blind an Pavarotti helped him to become a great artist.

  • So I take it these aircraft are past their effective service life? Are they in the fields just so the Ruskies can see they have been demilitarised?

  • This is so the Generals who have follow on jobs with Boeing or whomever can get new airplanes for Christmas...just like little boys.

  • hey dobedobydo i think there is part of it that people can walk around and think there may be a musem or something but the rest i dont think they let you but i only saw it on tv show dont know for sure

  • I want one Phantom.. for scrap-price maybe..?

  • xmeda - me too! And maybe one that works!

  • So sad. I was wondering if civilians are allowed to walk the field. Anybody know?

  • No this is a bus tour you can take for extra money at the nearby Pima Air And Space Museum were you can walk around and see the old planes. Suggest to visit in spring or fall summer time is to hot.

  • This was supposed to be a reply to DobeDobyDo.

  • Beautiful and sad. Respect.

  • whats the music with this vidio

  • It makes me sad:(

  • Been there! Those plane defended our freedom! Salute!

  • ...freedom? ejem ejem ejem

  • ejam?

  • no, ejem

  • I'll bite what's ejem?

  • To all the plane that currently in the graveyard. REST IN PEACE!!! We'll NEVER forget YOU!!

  • Look at it like this, each plane in this vid brought their crews home alive! Thats pretty darn good for warplanes!

  • Woul you be able to buy one of these ?

  • Dieterdtt- I was just wondering the same thing. How much would they let an F-4 Phantom go for? Oh, well, nice to dream....

  • gimme a starfighter...

  • iam sad about the f-4s those only had 35 hours of flight

  • Could the wright brothers have ever imagined, that not only did we master flight but there would be a surplus of flying machines.

  • nice vid I just saw this place on tv

love to have a walk around and look at them all take a few days i think though any one know if this is the same place that was on mythbusters (not sure on spelling there)

  • It pains my heart to see those C-141 Starlifters there. I have loved those planes ever since I was a little kid.

  • may they rest in peace [NOT THEIR AIRPLANES]

  • dang, look at all those f-4's

  • I got a bad gouge then, thanks for the info though. I got mine from a salty S-3 Cheif who will hear from me shortly, lol. Man, to have a Phantom with 50 flight hours...

  • Those poor B-52's were cut in thirds so that the Russians could see we were following through with the nuclear de-armament pact via sattilite imagery.

  • Not just satellites..the Russian inspection team can show up with no notice. We can do the same thing to them. They also can do it with our closed GLCM bases in Europe.

  • These beloved aircraft are striken from the Navy/Chair force record upon reaching 80% of their service life. They go here. Some are parted out, most remain ready for WWIII. In their state of preservasion, they can be "Daily'd" and flown within 72 hours. What we have now times three airborne. Back from the dead kinda trip, brings a tear to my eye...

  • A few corrections here. First, the majority of the aircraft at AMARC have not even eclipsed 50% of their service life. The Ex-USN S-3 Vikings and ex Luftwaffe F-4E's (some with under 50 flight hours!). Secondly, the minimal turn around time for aircraft even in level 1000 storage without spraylat is 30 days, 60 more than likely. It takes months for BAE systems to refurbish a Phantom just so it can be converted into a QF-4 full scale target.

  • To be honest,i cannot see how those planes can still be reactivated coz they have been standing there for so long but who am i to know...LOL

  • There are 4 classes of aircraft here. 1000 type aircraft are ones that will fly again when they are sold to a NATO ally (F-18's to Spain,16's to Italy etc.)2000 I believe are used for spares,3000 type are used for museums and 4000 type are destined for "rapid" destruction (B-52G)This Boneyard is the only military function in the US that makes money. 17 dollar return on every 1 dollar spent.

  • Very Poignant...

  • Great Flick!

  • can you buy this stuff ? from the army

  • 2:40 thru 2:42 cobra helis!
