This was the first album I ever bought, I was stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco in the early 80's and I would hear him on the quiet storm, I've been a fan every since.....
This is one immensely lush and sensual song done by Michael Franks and the cover done by Natalie Cole is as equally sensual ,in fact she owned this song like she had orignally written it but Michael gets full credit for this masterpiece....
@Socaman20 Yes she did own this song, almost to the point where she should've been back paid royalties and residuals for it. Still, Michael Franks is magical on this song (he wrote it). Like you said, he has a masterpiece here:)
@flyty9393 "Rainy" was actually the reason I bought Passionfruit but over the years I grew to love "Tell Me" as my favorite! I love them both, along with the rest of the album (not really found about "sly" but I still listen to it lol)
Love hearing him singing with the strings on the back half of this, and I just love his background vocals. I really do love this song in it's entirety, but I just adore hearing the latter portion of it:)
