  • Hi,

You can go to the Reverbnation site and type in:

    john martin

    (under the search tab)

There you will find many pieces to listen to. I will also be uploading a video

soon. I thank you for your long term patience and interest in my work.

    With kind regards,

    John

  • fantastic

  • Still no new vids? You've been promising for a year man! Do you have any albums I can buy?

  • Great playing John. Where are you from man?

  • Many thanks. Sorry for the delay in answering.

I am in the Atlanta area.

  • The pleasure of new discovery of a notable artist in watching and hearing you play ; superb.

  • Beautiful playing, John. Very clean, great tone. And i love the Sauron figure over your shoulder you should have that in all your videos!

  • John Boy, You are great, but then again, you always have been. I remember why I had such a crush on you once upon a time. Laura Ortiz Beltramini

  • what type of guitar you use exactly ? thats a beautiful arrangemwent, , amazing playing , such a great understanding of the thematic idea. wow

  • wow...

  • I beginning to think you simply don't care about your fans. Where's the new song you big liar?

  • Now don't be mean. I have a lot of other things I am dealing with at the moment. I will have one for you very soon. Patience is a virtue.

I have dropped the ball on this one, though.

It has to be a good one and I am thinking what best to record. This is a tough one to top.

I will post soon, I promise.

Oh, and I don't know if it's just me, but you remind me of a later Julian Bream lol... which isn't a bad thing!

    Keep up the splended work!

  • A rare compliment, indeed!

  • That is freakin' hilarious. OK, I just recently finished refurbishing my home and moved in. I have some other tasty Corea and Giuliani that I

    will put up.

I don't understand why I only have 8k in hits after a year. All these other cats have 100k+.

    j

  • I am sorry to have to add to your woes, I think it was me who watched this 8k times. Sorry dude, I will pass on the word. hehe.

  • oh - have you written tab or sheet music for this?

  • I am in the process of engraving and recording a suite of these works and publishing soon. I will update here soon.

    Thanks for the kind words,

    j

  • As a classical guitar player and jazz lover I wanted to say how much I admire your playing. It's very smooth (quite rare, even among classical players) and very well arranged. fantastic!

  • Congrats to the excellent playing and fine arrangement! Wondered how you managed to synchronize your Edirol R09 and the camera. I have a Edirol and wanted to make some vidoes but i don`t know how to do it. Is there a line in for a camera on the Edirol??

  • I used Windows Movie Maker. I used one track for the video and took the audio off of the expansion card from the R-09 in mp3 format (to keep the file small) for the 2nd track. It was

then just a matter of shifting the audio until it synced up, saved and uploaded. I did put a bit of reverb on the audio track first, however, through Cool Edit Pro.

    Thanks for the kind words,

    John

  • I also have a video camera that will record mpegs on an expansion card.

  • too pro

  • ... too pro

  • Exquisite playing and arrangement gtrdriven. You captured really well the Coreaesque phrasing for guitar. Keep those videos coming and thanks for sharing.

  • so this is the amazin guitar for sale eh!

absolutely lovely beautiful tone, seems very responsive too!

not a fan of the piece sorry to say but the playing is great, fantastic infact!

i recently purchased a ramirez centenario sounding very much like that. do you that rodriguez is better?

  • I will post some more videos from the classical rep, including some Giuliani and other works.

I have played a Ramirez for many years and this has a similar play and feel, however, my Ramirez was a 664 scale length and was becoming more of a challenge to play as the years go along.

I have also played the Ramirez Centenario and it is comparable to this instrument.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    With kind regards,

    John

  • awesome. I want to start playing classical guitar, now!

  • Have you removed the demonstration of the manuel rodriguez guitar? I loved the video. You are a terrific player and inspire me to play more. Thanks very much!!

  • I will be uploading new videos soon.

Many thanks for the kind words.

Was feeling a bit down, but that helped.

    Thanks,

    j

  • you make it look so easy that i think im going to stuck my guitar in my head.

    amazingly beautiful

  • Do you have a microphone in the guitar or is the tone unaided? The sound is just great!

  • The sound (although compressed) is from the Edirol R-09. Very cool unit to do recordings.

    j

  • This is simply BEAUTIFUL. You inspire me to play more and learn more. Thank you

  • my jaw drops every time I hear this, which is , like, everyday.

  • Wow!! Amazing!!!

  • Nice playing man, keep up the good work.

  • AWESOME ! Incredible! I am one of the greatest Chick Corea fans ever, I have made many transcriptions also, and I can assure that your adaptation is amazing. I don´t know how did you get, but I´m astonished by the way you did, you didn´t merely replicated, you ADAPTED for the guitar. great!

  • Thanks for the kind words.

I used the score from his Piano Improv. folio. I scanned the score and photoshopped the melody line to a new score and added as much of the bass as I could fit in and remain playable. It was in D major already and seems to lay on the guitar quite well.

    j

  • Very nice... Good to see you again

Got the pleasure of seeing you play once

at Kudro's house back in the late 70's

and you where excellent even then.

  • Unbelieveable. Humbling. Now I'm going to throw my guitars into the nearest dumpster.

  • Beautifully played man. Absolutely jaw dropping. Well Done

  • Hey Man-

Beautiful. I've always loved this little known tune by Chick from the early years. Harmonically interesting as Chick always is. Great job.
