@0prahTV However you might be right, I'd like to point out that Yuki Wada is an established organ player. I believe it's her playing, for 'the player's' technique and the technique of Yuki Wada are very, very similar.
They're careful not to show her face during performance 'cause it's not her playing. The person playing has a birthmark on her left hand, while she doesn't. The pianist must have been fugly.
@xan1242 Yeah. I realize that it seems kinda funny, but to us musicians it's nothing more than a digital messaging protocol. MIDI comes from the early 80s and still works perfectly. The funny (crappy) sounds you're used to are probably the ones from Microsoft's GM MIDI soundbank :)
After listening to Yamaha tyros3 or 4, I just don't understand why can't those technologies to an electone which priced much more than a tyros. The complexity to play an electone deserve the best technology. Even the flagship els-01x sounded inferior to tyros.
She is a MONSTER musician! Great player, so effortless. And she "gets" each instruments' idiosyncricies. I'd love to work with her. And the instrument is INCREDIBLE!! A winner! Congrats to Yamaha, and please tell me her # so I can call her for sessions :-)

I wished that this organ was available in America? Yamaha US informed that such Electones are no longer available in the USA. This organ sounds wonderful!
its always amazed me how someone(especially organ players) can keep track of what their two hands are doing and same time what their feet should be doing all at the same while using their brain simultaneously to read notes or something...
is this possible if someone has never played an instrument before and say is in their 20s?? or is this something thats you get when you're younger?
@dopemcee@dopemcee nah anyone can learn this stuff with a bit of dedication, it's easier if you start early but really once you figure out how to get your two hands independent figuring out the same thing with your feet isnt too hard. I've always been shit at reading music but looking at sheet music while playing isnt a problem cause after a while you figure out how to play almost as well with your eyes closed as with them open.
get yourself a keyboard and start practising mate :D
@BestNameEvar thats the part thats so hard for me..getting my hands independent..can you recommend a good book that i can buy with exercises that target that?
cuz the minute i start playing with my right everything is fine..put the left and you get some royal messing up thats ridiculous lol...its so frustrating sometimes
@dopemcee I had some lessons when I started out so all I can say is keep practising playing chords in the left hand and keeping the rhythm while playing a simple melody in your right.
It;s really all practise in the end, if you can afford a teacher get one even if its just a few lessons, but everything else is just practising until if becomes second-nature.
Ms. Wada not only demonstrates considerable talent as both a classical pianist and pop keyboardist, but also knows her way around a modern organ - notice she plays both keyboards, the bass pedals *and* the expression pedal simultaneously. She's really remarkable.
She is the most valuable addition to Yamaha since the inception of the Electone line. Her performance skills make me wonder if she isn't atokun111kyusyu. Makes me wish this instrument was available in the States: it's a dream machine I'd find a way to obtain. Kudos to Yamaha for the bravery in releasing such an instrument, and to Yuki for showing its potential. Check out atokun111kyusyu for a few John Williams performances on this magnificent instrument.
Is the Electone line available in the U.S.? If so, which dealer? Because I don't see the Electone line on the Yamaha U.S. website... Is it only in Japan and U.K.?
Great demonstration, machine sounds a bit thin; too bad there isn't a synth module to modify the sounds- I'd run it through a wah-wah pedal at the very least lol
it also shows how Western music has been 'discovered' in the East (nice to discover things); and that, no matter how 'good' you are, you can only master a few qualities of music- here they are skill oriented- reproduction, accuracy and speed; missing are originality, dynamics and emotion (for whatever suppressive reasons)...
@wbiro They are only demoing in "Western" music so as to get Western dollars. You wouldn't buy the synth if they demoed traditional Japanese melodies.
@ridemeup I researched the price. They cost as much as £10,000 and not easily found. But I don't want one. This is a specialized instrument that is useful in few venues.
Wow... I wonder how long it takes to master an instrument like this?? Its really amazing how it can be an entire band or orchestra in one instrument...
@acarocacaro After attending the Yamaha Music Festival in Bangkok a few months ago I am more than satisfied with any & all sounds of the Stagea. consider this: When listening to an amplified guitar those speakers will be much large than those on the Stagea. One of Yamaha's most wonderfully sound fantastic machine in terms of
sound quality. I am so interested that I visited a few Yamaha showrooms
today to try them out. I'm Yamaha old school boy who previously owned
Yamaha HS-8 20 years ago and planning now to upgrade.
I tested 2 Yamaha Digital Instruments : Clavinova CVP 509 and Stagea
ELS-01.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
When you powered ON the Clavinova CVP 509, this machine has some
thing very special. Very large 7.5" beautifully colored LCD with "moving
lights" of tiny icons just above the keyboard.
When you powered ON the Stagea ELS-01, you have large 6.5" color
touch-screen LCD however the output is not as beautiful or detailed &
no lights moving or tiny icons above the keyboard like the Clavinova.

Sound quality wise, I benchmarked the piano sound between the Clavi-
nova CVP 509 and Stagea ELS-01. I must say in general they sound
pretty close if you do not listen carefully.
If you do, you will feel the grand piano sound of the Clavinova is better.
Probably because the Clavinova CVP 509 has 5-level AWM while the
Stagea has 4-level AWM.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
The Clavinova has an integrated USB port located on the upper left for
saving registrations. The Stagea ELS-01 has no built-in USB port and
requires external USB or Floppy Drive module attached to the bottom
right underneath the keyboard. The newer model Stagea DDK-7 has an
integrated USB port on the left panel for example.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
Overall built quality on Clavinova CVP 509 is superior to Stagea ELS-01.
Higher quality buttons and volume control dials for the Clavinova.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
I tested Stagea ELS-01 and found the buttons quality is OK however when
you dial the volume control & tempo dial looks and feels cheap like a toy.
The dial does not have the solid feel like the Clavinova.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
Overall physical finish of the Clavinova CVP 509 is better than the Stagea
ELS-01 with 5 different colors from light to dark wood for you to choose
from the Clavinova.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
With the Stagea, I have only 1 option grey body and light wood side panel
finish. No more black/dark wood or white option like the earlier EL series.
With no color to choose from, I cannot match the Stagea with my other
instruments which is also in black/dark wood.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
I recalled this phenomenon somewhat similar to the hi-fi or audio-visual industry
when whole market many manufacturers or vendors previously released their hi-fi
or audio-visual products in black, then at one time switched to grey, and then now
back to black again.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
The bench of the Clavinova also looks and feels better with high quality
dark wood finish and comes with adjustable height thanks to the special
large dial beside the bench.
The bench of the Stagea is just a bench in grey. Design wise looks simple.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
Having tested the Clavinova and Stagea, it is clear Yamaha is attempting to
reduce costs of Stagea to bring its price down so as to make it affordable
to students of Electone. I believe Yamaha has done this due to feedback
from its showrooms that parents & customers may have commented that
previous Electone models are too expensive.
tomcuevas 1 year ago
In my opinion, Yamaha should continue its efforts to make Electone afford
-able and at the same time not reducing but maintaining its build quality.
You should see and feel the Clanivona CVP 509 and Stagea ELS-01 yourself.
