  • Was this song actually on that album? I remember the TV ads for it, with the "sound-alike" singers singing "Brandy" and "Heart Of Gold" by Neil Young, and "Horse With No Name". This song was from Spring or Summer 1971 and originally done by Motown session guitarist Dennis Coffey (yup - a white guy playing guitar for Motown).

  • @elc1960 I have the dennis coffey 8 track, the only still intact one I have

  • @moxie96 This song always sounded to me like a theme from a long-forgotten TV cop show: "Scorpio . . . a Quinn Martin production . . . starring Tony Musante . . . with James Franciscus as Capt. Stack . . . tonight's episode: 'The Wages Of Sin!' " (Sorry, just trying to evoke a mood.)

  • Thanks for posting this!

I absolutely LOVE the fidelity of it - sounds just like it's coming out of an AM transistor radio circa 1971!

  • WOW! Never thought I'd see this on the net. This is one of the hardest compilation LP's to find. Thanks!!!
