the old one was great didnt know that a new one was in production. Did u know that Q.tarentino was inspired to use colors for names in reservoir dogs because of this film.
I was watching this from my window in Tudor City and remember the stunt man actually was taken to the hospital on a stretcher after the car he was in was hit a bit too hard. Watching the police car flip was great...did you happen to catch that on film?
I was a PA on this. I'm at the top right on the street to the right of the ramp going towards the FDR. I was holding people back from going into that intersection. That ambulance hit was fuckin NUTS
rucker - do you know how many times they rehearsed the stunt? I'm assuming the comment by swell about the stuntperson taken to hospital is referring to the car that gets spun round 180 degrees by the ambulance - I agree - a great stunt!
I can't totally remember. They did it for real I think about 3 times and cued up about 5 times before hand when the car was gonna' get hit and exactly what MPH the ambulance and dump truck had to go in order to achieve the proper effect. When the ambulance hits the cop car is when the stunt guy had to go home. The first was a bit dull, the second better, my guess is the 3rd will be used. Pretty incredible.
I cant wait to see this remake. . .having said that I have to admit the original 1974 version has an extremely complicated stunt scene involving a police car, a bike, a cycle, and people running out the way - and it looks like they did it in one take!
Agreed. The 1974 is absolutely awesome. However, scripts nowadays are so-so, especially with remakes. Hopefully this'll go well. Travolta looks great as the bad guy, and Denzel was a pretty cool choice for Walter Mathau's role. I hope it goes well. It was quite the intense show to work on.
wow they actually hit they car o.0
