2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 vs AWD Trailblazer SS

Something is definitely wrong here, SRT running 12s at 105 with no tune? And a trailblazer running 14s with tune and bolt ons??

Plz that race was a crock.... I got Snailblazer and i have a intake, tune and ill race you and run under a 14 all day.. The exhaust was prob just a resonator delete which is nothing at all and a thermostat thats hardly a mod.... And if your at us41 you gotta be local im in IL and have a couple buddies with snailblazers one even has a lic plate that says that and im sure he would love to come out NO SPRAY AND NO FI....

the funny thing is the tbss is the same price as the jeep gc 5.7 hemi which it dominates. everybody compares the tbss to the srt8 when they are not equally priced. its like racing a base model v6 charger against a pontiac g8 gt. my tbss dosent lose to srt8 jeeps and it runs a lil better then 13.9 too :) i do like the jeeps tho they are nice suv's.

Another truck that could run with both of these trucks but was made about 20 years ago by GMC Truck and was based on the Chevy Blazer concept with AWD with the 4.3 turbo charged intercooled V-6 that made 285hp in 1992 that's almost what the regular Corvette with its new for that model year 300hp LT-1 was making. This truck was the GMC Typhoon and was pretty neat for a juiced up by today's standards square bodied and un modern play truck. All 3 are great, it'd been fun a new typhoon vs. these 2.

you forgot to mention your tuned as well. i have a hard time believing that tbss has what you say it has cause mine runs faster then that with less. anyway you have a bad ass suv but you havent ran into the rite ss yet.if none ran better then 13.9 they must of all been stock. my friend has ieatsrt cai,superchips,thermo and gutted cat and runs 13.50s in a awd. im bout to do my stall and go huntin sum jeeps. nice jeep anyway and runs good. you dont live near maryland do you? ;)

@JayGeePee1 Never gonna happen, they went to that FWD biased transversely mounted engine crap.....so did gm with the traverse, the trailblazer replacement. Besides Chrysler, you'd have to go German, range rover sport or infiniti fx50 to get a v8 sports suv.

BOTH TRUCKS ARE GREAT HANDS DOWN. BUT THERES A HUGE PRICE DIFFERENCE. FOR THE EXTRA 12,000 YOU COULD PUT A SUPERCHARGER ON THE SS AND GET A VERY GOOD RACE. If the Jeep owner thinks he took around 3 seconds off his 1/4 mile time with just intake and exhaust modifications, I'd have to question the honesty of the noted modifications. Not to mention the Cherokee had a late start and still made it under 13 seconds.

Not sure where you got the 3 seconds from, its more like 3 tenths. SRT8's Jeeps run very low 13's stock.

Also, at a dragstrip, the clock starts when the vehicle breaks the last staging beam, not when the first car leaves. So I could have sat there for however long I wanted to and still would have run 12's all day.
