I really feel for the loss of Americans affected by this flooding but I have to say something to get it off my chest. I keep seeing 'Reporters standing in the Water' reporting. MS NBC even has this hot looking weather girl trudging thru the water & acting like she really cares. I hate to sound mean but... Could someone get a two hundred foot extension cord & throw one of these reporters a 'live' Toaster? Pleease, it would take so little but mean so much to me... Thumbs up if you agree.
I wonder if the districts under water are Republican. Ims sure you got tea party members who the other day were bitchin about too much government and sayin free markets are the fix all. Now those same people will be askin for government money when they find out that their private insurance wont cover shit. free market all right. Im sure that levee maintanence and disaster relief were on the R chopping block along with medicare and medicade.
@delreydavid I feel your pain! I live in the great state of Texas & hate hypocrisy (I'm a 'middle moderate') Our Great Governor Rick Perry always 'hints' at TX 'seceeding from the Union'!! Over the last several weeks we've had wild cat fires that burned over 160,000 acres & even clouded the West Texas sky I live under. Suddenly Kay Bailey/Rick Perry requested 'Emergency Federal Disaster Assistance' from our federal govt. Our govt. said 'NO' & I can't tell you how happy I was! Seriously.
Wow, CNN you cant figure it out? The levees are maintained by the govt and the bardges are operated by private companies. They are not gonna risk $ to make sure that a disaster is prevented. Look at BP. How can they make sure that they stay on the original river line? They prolly dont care and take short cuts over peoples homes. Who cares if they rip off someones roof. Its about bottom line.
