Its a real shame but all good things come to an end.
I saw Kansas at the local college in 1974,the tickets were $4.50!
And we were maybe 20 feet away,it was great!
I really them for many years, seen them too many times to count and still listen to them, but maybe they should retire and save face.
Phil has a bad attitude anyway,we tried to meet him after a show and he treated us like shit! I'm a drummer and from what I saw that night...I could have played it better.

Then I don't know what happened. Phil is usually a very nice approchable man. Steve was the one that treated his fans like shit in the 90s but that was only because he was wasted and didn't know what he was saying/doing, but he's clean now.
Just check the performance of Robbie on the 2006 posts of Kansas live in Chile! Not only does he sound bad making many mistakes he looks terrible! It was heartbreaking for me because I loved Robbie's playing and nobody could harmonize like that man! He will be missed but in the meantime Rags is an awesome replacement!
Likely he did, but sometimes things could get tireing, expecally when you havn't released new materal in a long time. Then stuck singing the few hits you had over and over. I bet Robby was all "Carry on Wayward Son for the trilliant time!?!"
The reason robbie got the boot is because he and steve were not getting along.Steve said it was VERY HARD to keep his sobriety while robbie was in the band. Also his playing was not consistent. But, it was robbie in the end saying to phil-I JUST CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.
saw them in 77.. this isnt kansas....the originals is.. and i payed four bucks LOL.. thanks for posting

Reading Phil's side of the story, he was pushed into "retirement" because he was phoning in his performances. He sounds great on the DVD though.

what do you mean phoning in ???
seattleskies13 4 years ago
It means giving mediocre or poor performance not because of lack of ability but lack of effort.

Really? I cant imagine, I always thought Robbie had his heart into Kansas!

Phil said the DVD is where Robby peaked. After that it was rough.
