I love the Xoom its just I don't care for its mobile web pages which is one main reason why I totally changed my mind on ordering a Xoom. I found the Asus Transformer and I fell in love with all its specs and quality. I have been reading more about the Thrive its a nice Android tablet but I personally wouldn't buy it. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a cool tablet but I'm tired of owning Samsung products and I want something different. And for the Ipad...... meh overrated imo.

I have a thrive and we use ipads at work... In terms of looks and style ipad hands down... in terms of everything else the thrive, for me, wins... Flexible i mean i watch amazon instant vid on my big screen thru HDMI, I transferred movie files with a thumb drive, and doubled my storage space with a 16GB Sd card.. Umm... i don't think Ipad does this... : )

The non-Apple tablet is dying a slow and hideous death. HP is eating up demand with the $99 Touchpad Tablet (next run in 4-6 weeks). The Android tablet price point is too close to the iPad. Why buy an imitation? It's not that the non-Apple tabs aren't good, they're excellent! But people are realizing Apple created a market for the iPad, not tablets in general. Just like they did with the iPod. By this time next year, most computer makers will be exiting the tablet business.

@enyownz That and the fact you use it for far more than video. That extra width allows for a far more pleasant experience when on a web page for example. They took the old pre-widescreen computer monitor approach which was the way it was for damn good reason, more usability for general tasks.

@fightnight14 I'd love to see some Windows Phone 7 tablets (my god Microsoft, why did you go with such a limiting name? Windows Mobile was FAR more genetic and future proof). This whole "full Windows on a tablet" thing is a waste of time and money if you ask me, they have a damn good mobile OS sitting there and they're faffing around doing it the hard way. They tried this approach for 10 years, they failed, move on! Only a niche market wants full Windows on a tablet, and they have it already.

@fightnight14 Windows 8 is just regular old Windows. They've just added a new interface layer for touch. The OS itself and the software made for it aren't made for tablets though, so it'll just be another waste of time in the long run. The ARM version will require people to recompile or re-write their software to run on it too, so it's no different from just making an iPad version, or even Windows Phone 7 version. Apple worked this out, hence their success where MS failed. MS just don't get it.

@mbuddenn WebOS isn't going to supported all that much either, at least not in the consumer space. HP laid off most of the WebOS team and apparently they're still considering it for their enterprise stuff. It'd be interesting seeing it used in printers and networking systems to help improve the integration between the server software and the connected hardware. Not sure they share that interest though sadly.
