  • There isn't a doubt that these kind of exercises are good for whole body and not only for any specific part though it does work on specific part more. IMO, it is better to get results through these kind of slow building exercises since it involves and develops the whole body apart from specific region and hence makes you look more balanced yet ripped. Trying to build specific part through weights might give faster results but it can make you look offbeat unless one is working out on whole body.

    Im presently 72 height , waist 35 and 49 shoulder

    My perfect body would be 72, 33 and 53

    so i have to lose 2 inches on waist and gain 4 inches on shoulder width

    how wide does this make your shoulders

  • that's silly. from 2:23 he is starting to do the exercise when using inertia which is the first sign of doing too difficult exercise. using inertia is less efficient then doing it in slow-motion.

  • Good advice. This is how I learned the skill. It surprisingly doesn't take more than 2 months to get good at this as long as you were already somewhat strong. Just keep practicing & take slow steps.

    lt's harder than the shoulder press.You have to maintain balance so secondary muscles get involved which isn't the case with the shoulder press when you sit and just push the weight up.Bodyweight training always involves more muscle groups to work and concentrate on than isolated weight lifting exercises.

  • Hey man, can strength training stunt shoulder bone growth for teens(making them stay narrow)? i know a bodybuilder who has naturally narrow shoulders and his doc says its because he started weight training at his early teens

  • how much do you weight? I'm about 230 or somethin, I can do military presses with about...170lb or so, for like 8 reps, but not all the way down to my neck. But I remeber a long time ago I tried and coulnd't perfomr one full rep of handstand pushups...

    Barely. It's more strain on your forearms and triceps. I did gymnastics for 7 years, i've walked miles on my hands and I never recall feeling a pinch or a burn in my shoulders.

    You should only rest 3 minutes max, 2-3 minutes for bulking, 30 seconds for toning. Locking out your arms is bad for your joints if you hold it for awhile.

    A lot more women are starting to find bigger guys unattractive. Each women is different but most like a small toned man.
