The gray 08.5 is my actual car. The 2010 was brought out to a local car meet waay before it was available for purchase, by a Mazda Canada employee. I love certain things about the 2nd gen, but I'm happier with my 1st gen. Especially since it's got an upgraded turbo and just about every bolt on :)

well of course people with the old version of a car prefer their car. they own it. not many people would trade in their old car to buy a new version just for the looks, so thye don't really care. As for me, I had an RX8, just picked up a speed3 but in black, makes the front smile alot less stand out. It's a nice car, I like the looks and it's got alot of +'s over the RX8

@theHeilander not totally, man. it's not just pride in ownership, as you say... i actually just chose a garage-kept mint '08 with 24k miles on it over a mint '10 with 21k miles last month. because the '08 was so lightly used, there was very little price difference between the two and i just dug the look of the older one more... it was easy for me b/c i knew i'd baby whatever i bought and i'm sure it'll last just as long. I like how it's a little understated. dig?

ive got the 2008.5 MS3 GT and I prefer that style to this new one. The front end of the 2010 is too fat looking, makes the front wheel housing look small. The hood scoop is just gawdy, the previous gen design of hood scoop was far superior for keeping the man off of your back. The interior of my 2008.5 with the amazing suede leather is way better than the trash theyre putting into the cars now. Of course mine was more expensive than the 2010 models, but imo worth it for the amazing quality

There's only a sport model now, I went to the dealers and they said that, plus if you look on mazdas website it only shows a sport model. If you notice it's also cheaper then the last gt model and you can get the tech package for it which makes it a gt model basically

I owned a 2007, first one for 450 miles of my location here in the metropolitan area (might i add). I am very Serious about the 2010 but i have only found info on the Sport. Is there a Grand Touring, where is it. Where are the HID's and LED's. I assume this is not the Sport, so speak up peeps. The dealerships state that the is only a sport and will only be a sport. I call BS.

the speed 3 does have hid headlights. i like this car but i think if i had to chose with the same price range i would go for the new 2010 VW GTI . i think it looks better and the materials used inside are of better quality. the speed 3 will be the faster car but for everyday driving i think the new GTI is the way to go

Mt GTI lease ends in June, and I'm consdering the Speed3. GTI has been fun and surprisingly reliable, but I need more than 200hp. According to Mazda's site, the Speed3 comes only with halogen headlights. Maybe to keep costs down? Skip the tech package, and it's a relative bargain.
