Whammy Bar: When palying a long note, wiggle the stylus across the screen for the duration of the note.

Star Power: When it prompts you, shout 'Rock Out' into the mic, press the meter on the touch screen or press one of the XYAB buttons.

There is no such thing as a Stupid Question. To use the whammy you just Wiggle the Stylus over the guitar (Doesnt even have to be over the whammy bar). To use Star Power you Press A,B,X or Y or You can Blow or Shout into the mic. Most commonly shouted is "Rockout!"
