@gadigadigadigadi I cant lift that shit even if I was 2 times stronger than I am now. Those guys seriously deadlift 2 times more weight than I do. I'm just saying that straps are required because you can mess up your hands and wrists when lifting stuff that heavy. Straps don't even make it easier strength wise, it just reduces the pain in your wrist and hands.

@MrAssassinful u would be suprised. there is a prison documentary where u can see bodybuilders doing dead lifts more then 540 lbs without straps. i know its not strong man level but still..here is a link of the same guys doing squats and bench. cant find where they do dead lifts.. enjoy

@Nico374a It's sad that the pros' dependence on performance-enhancing drugs in various sports gives people the opportunity to belittle and trivialize anyone's achievements. I think other persons' accomplishments make someone who already feels inadequate and worthless feel even more impotent in life, and so this kind of stock criticism of athletes is just a form of bigotry, similar to claiming that weightlifters are all homosexuals or micro-brains.

In 1987, the off-year, there was an invitational in Scotland, where Capes, Sigmarrson, and Kazmaier competed. Sigmarrson won seven events out of ten, and Capes had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. He retired after that.
