actually, i myself am chinese and I love my country. but I'm also realistic about the problems that are happening in my country. I want China to take a different path than the US, and I want China to progress peacefully. However, blind patriotism will ultimately blind progress as is happening int he US now.

you are correct in pointing out the American trade in weapons, which I do not support. It has helped fuel many sad proxy wars in Africa and Latin America as well as in Central Asia.

I dont think Asians and Chinese refer to China as a superpower, or rising superpower. It is American media and politicians who wish to drum up fear among US citizens in order to get them to work harder despite a receding American economy. The US gov't is in debt up to its eyeballs, and has no way of paying off that debt. The ordinary US citizens will be responsible for paying all that debt.

It is pretty bigoted of you to think Christians don't believe in science. God gave common sense to us. Catholic Church has a long tradition of teaching, and was the first to found universities and spread knowledge.What if someone believes prayer heals? I would say it's better to, you would disagree. It is irrelevant. It is skill, not belief that should prevail in these matters. By the way, Catholic schools generally produce better results than other schools in USA.

The carrier did not know until it pooped up 1,000 feet next to it, it is proven, US technology is lagging behind, if in the real war situation, that aircraft carrier would be at the bottom of the ocean don't even know what was going on.

Countries have risen because they correctly assess their limitations and strive to overcome those limitations. That I believe, is the source of China's success at the moment. They accept their weaknesses in technology, etc and are now pursuing a path towards rectifying those problems.

I just came back from Asia and it is mind blowing how China has made "the great leap forward" in its economy and military. I agree with the speaker that China will surpass the United States economically and militarily in 10-15 years.
