i am SO SICK AND TIRED of people who do this!!! It's not cool, it's not clever, it's not funny. so stop! Just use an actual BOWL and not a record! Records are music, not bowls!! Dumb. If you want a bowl that looks like a record so badly, just buy a PLASTIC one. Don't be insane and make one out of a record. moron.
@JohnnyLovelyMusicVid If the record wasn't playable, who cares? It the same thing as using an unplayable cd as a frisbee. Why is this such a bad thing?
@Rabbyadam exactly... if you go to any op shop you will find hundreds of poor rejected albums and you will look through them and go... hmmm no wonder they are here,. i use old cd's that don't work as coasters :) why not records for bowls :) of course the john lennon collection will not be used for this but maybe some other poor lonely sod.. lols
@EnnisEduardo The bowl is a piece of art that is worth about $20 the vinyl record is worth about $1. A person could just throw the record away and fill the landfills with old unwanted records but, this method reuses old trash and created art.
You are correct that records produce toxic substances when heated over 250 degrees. that is why in the video he shows setting the temperature to 100 degrees.
If you don't like them thats cool and all to each their own. but, why dis it? Just saying.
gee you get around with the criticism don't you! have an appreciation for reusing and diversity in tastes. It's not my thing either but why be so rude about it?
Ugly because you are destroying music for doing a bowl, with a hole in the bottom. This is one of those creative ideas that begins with destroying something more valuable, maybe not for you but for somebody else. If the record is so messed up that is completely unplayable, anyway wax contains toxic substances so it is not recommendable for doing this. There most be other kind of resins out there.
And is not a matter of tastes, is what I think, in simple words.

I like the videography. This style is simple, effective, and self-explanatory. No need for obstructing language. One up.
