This song was written about my two favorite first person shooter games at the time: Quake 2 and Halflife II. Sniper, Vanguard, Baldor, and Blackdog were the screen names of the four people I played multiplayer LAN games with the most (they were my band members and my dad!). Knowing that, the lyrics speak for themselves. ;)
Always had a hate/love relation with this song. Referring more to the original mp3 version, it had a guitar (or synth?) predominating, which, at least to me, sounded like a rooter's power snake used to clean drain/sewage lines. Sometimes that sound bugged me, other times I really get into the work over-all. First time hearing this version. Never thought of it in terms of a space drama though!
