Sure the cayenne has off road prowless but it's more geared toward's on road performance. The Range is still a true truck! With is long travel independent unlike the cayenne's stiff air ride. The Infiniti FX just came out 2 years ago in the UK so it only made sense at the time to introduce and put it up against its German rivals. The FX50 however I agree appropriately competes with the V8 rivals like the X5, Cayenne and Range Rover. Good thing is Mercedes and Infiniti are now partners, the soon to come IPL FX, G, M, will recieve Mercedes AMG engines and Mercedes will get Infiniti's hybrid technology.

The car couldn't go up the grassy hill because it a) had summer performance tyres on, b) Jezza just flat on floored it instead of carefully increasing throttle as soon as the car gets some grip and c) they probably put the car in the worst possible offorad settings. Even a Range Rover would fail to go up that hill under those conditions.

And anyways, the X6 is more of a street car than an offroader anyway.
