I found alan cumming at virgin megastore (when the branch in SF was still standing) and it was just me becoming alice following the white rabbit with him in there. What I did not know was he was searching for the bathroom that most of the time I could not find at the Virgin megastore and never been in it. It turned out he still remembered me some time after , whenever I see him here He says hello, he even ran into me with my mom twice some other times. Wish I could hang out with him someday
@TheXxERRORxx Well, the play is actually about the rise of the Nazi party. It's sort of like that movie "Swing Kids." But with a seedy dance/sex club instead of swing dancing.
why was Natasha Richardson in the production for so little time? i didn't think she was in great demand in '98 (and i mean no disrespect). Was she just too expensive to keep longer than a few months? Well, Alan Cumming only stayed about a month afterwards anyway. I'd think you'd want to milk out a hit on Broadway as long as possible.
@dmfahoome I wasn't aware that Jane Horrocks appeared in the Roundabout/NYC production. I know she did the Donmar production, but this is not a commercial for the Donmar production. I know that when this commercial aired, Jennifer Jason Leigh was in the production, hence my educated guess.
@englishlit I understand your guess. But the woman in this commercial, I'm almost positive, is Jane Horrocks. I think this was just footage from the Donmar production because Alan Cumming was not in the B'way production for four years.
@dmfahoome Interesting. This commercial aired during the 2000 Broadway on Broadway. I wouldn't think that the American Roundabout production would use footage from a London production from 1994 (for a commercial 6 years later), but what do I know. =) Seems to me Roundabout would "own" footage of JJL or Natasha Richardson (but not Horrocks) if they were using their archives. Looks like JJL to me, but by rights, it should be Lea Thompson who was playing Sally at the point (Sept. 10, 2000).
Wasn't Natasha Richardson Sally in the revival?? I'm almost positive she was
