  • other father:we give out thanks and hands to bless...our mothers golden..chicken breast!

    other mother: (thinking) "shut up"

  • Did anyone else notice that the other mother never ate anything?

  • @thedifferent14 That's because she eats children, not normal food. It would be like a person eating bird seed or grass.

  • @elizabethnmeilson dont forget she also eats cocoa beetles. From zanzibar.

  • @elizabethnmeilson i don't think she EATS them. they just entertain her for a while, she grows bored of them and then she locks them in the room behind the mirror

  • @tangally In the movie they say that The Other Mother ate their lifes.

  • @tangally in the book she doesn't. just saying

  • can i use this for a video?

  • Coraline you only dreamed you ate all that chicken. Take your multivitamin, atleast. lol "all that chicken"? she took one bite.

  • I wonder what would happen if spiderman met the other mother..

  • @lnvaderRobyn she's eat him "it's a chocolate human spider, from ZANZIBAR!!!" *smiles pleasantly*

  • @lnvaderRobyn i think she would like to marry him ♥ *0* SPidERMAN ♥ OthER MOtHER *_________* ♥♥♥

  • When I saw this, the food always looked so good! I wanted it so bad

  • In my opinion, this is like the soundtrack of my life. I love Coraline :)

  • Didn't you guys noticed that the other mother just took coraline's food,i mean, she's not yet done eating,if i was coraline i would say "Hey! I'm Not Finished with that yet!",and plus! she never ate her cake! and she just drank up her mango milkshake and the other mother cooked too much food, but their only 3 people! so they cant finish the food! WTF? she's wasting food O.O

  • @ilovedogs1235 what a bitch!

  • @ilovedogs1235 well i guess the food is fake too. Just like all the other things.

  • what would the OST be like if danny elfman composed it..... magical? :D

  • Comment removed

  • I keep listening to this song <3

  • This is creepy!! But good!

    C☻raline <3 <3

  • this reminds me of Edward Scisornds soundtrack

  • It always annoyed me how during, her first supper at the other mother's house, she only took like, one bite of her meal and the other mother replaced it with cake, and she just WENT TO BED! I was like WTF, when I saw she left the cake sitting there!

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout

    It probably wasn't even cake.

  • @TheCassyJenelle THe cake was a lie? D:

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout and then the next day she siad she ate so much chicken

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout

    That's because...

    THE CAKE IS A LIE!

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout It would probably be pretty boring to watch her eat for 30 minutes, much less 2 XD

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout The other mother didn't eat any food

  • @blackhole73 But, remember she isn't a real person I'd assume she doesn't need human food!

  • @Finalfantasyfreakout It's because she wanted to eat Coraline lol.

  • foooooooooooooooooooooooood

  • My thought process when first meeting the Other Mother:

"Hungry as a pumpkin? What does that even mean?!"

*Gets to Other Father's ghost eye scene*

".....I see what you did there."

  • does anyone else notice the light on the L seems to be coming from the cats butt?

  • @ninjastar57 ...I think that's actually the door? idk maybe wrong but i'm pretty sure

  • @mildseven0506 The cat's butt /is/ the door.

  • @kippehkun Great now theirs two of you.

  • @mildseven0506 I'm sorry, for me it was one of those 'It seemed like a great idea at 3 in the morning' comments. XD;

  • Did the other father really said "I love dinnerbreakfastfood" in the book?

  • I LOVE dinnerbreakfastfood.

  • i danced to some of these for world of wearable art NZ

  • Here comes the gravy train! CHOO CHOO!

  • I have a few questions if any1 wont mind answering :] did Coraline realy request mango milkshake and get some from the chandalier in the book? and did the other father actualy say that chiken breast joke in it too? soz i havent read so i wouldnt know xD, one last one, did Coraline realy refer to her best friends as "her favorite trolls" ? thx x]

  • @jasmini101 No, none of those happened in the book. But the movie expanded the story, so it's normal for them to add in new minor lines.

  • @wizardwarrior713 oh ok thanks so much for helping me clear that up xD

  • A FUCKIN' milkshake chandelier?? how more awesome can that get??

  • @ScaredLaughs oy YA its cool but u dident have to say .../..

  • @twinsmomnfl -_- dick.

  • @ScaredLaughs I agree, but there's nothing like the gravytrain ;)

  • @Barmhartigste I KNOW RIGHT!!! XD

  • Who else wants a milkshake dispenser chandelier?

  • @98Clank98 Everyone in the galaxy including pluto probalbly. Unless Sweets kill aliens.

  • *welcome home*

    coraline:Home?

Other mother:We have been waiting for you Coraline.

    Coraline:for me?

Other father:Yup wasnt the same here without you kiddo.

  • " here comes the gravy train! CHO CHOOO! " xD I always find that funny!

  • Somehow, this song feels kinda sickly sweet, yet kidna creepy...just like the other mother

  • the other mothers a spider cuz remember she eats the kids and the ghost kids tell her "hurry miss her web is un whinding'' i love coraline

  • @emmaleon45 i think it's more of a metaphor than an out right spider. making the reference to her 'web' and her spider like features may be something more, not just simply a spider. i don't think they don't want the movie to be that simple.

  • @ShaiyaEylon99 she only eats the kids

  • Coraline: Mom? What are you doin' here in the middle of the night?!

Beldam: You're just in time for supper, dear!

Coraline: You're not my mother.. my mother doesn't.. have.. bu-bu-bu...

Beldam: Bu-bu-bu-buttons? Hah. Do you like them? I'm you're OTHER mother, silly.

  • @gruiz24 I love how when they said Grace, the Other Father pointed to the Other Mother's boobs with a creepy-looking smile.

  • @PurpleMysticDew Haha, indeed. It was probably a little adulterated-innuendo that Henry snuck in there.

  • what instrument is that at 0:43? i cant exactly tell. it sounds cool.

  • @zimshowfan I believe it is some kind of a zylophone. :) (If that's how you spell it..)

  • @RandomKPluver spelled with an x not z , haha. no offense.

  • @GreerRobertson Oh poo, why do I always forget the "x"?! D:

Haha, thanks, and don't worry, I don't offend easily. :)

  • @zimshowfan I think it's those tiny finger chimes Belly Dancers use : ) I agree; whether it's those; or who knows what...the sound is awesome!

  • @zimshowfan It's those finger chimes Belly Dancers use; the sound is really original...well done!

  • every time I hear this, I keep interpreting the whispers as the ghost children...

  • @wizardwarrior713

The web, the web, the web...

    This witch, this witch...

  • @PurpleMysticDew E

    It sounds like that exactly!

  • Its like danny elfman wannabe

  • I love how haunted this story is at it's core.

  • this song is scary. It makes me freaked out. But in a good way.

  • thanks, but can you tell me in less words... sorry i dont get it...

  • she is evil, and strumming her fingers shows that she likes to plot stuff.

  • Thank you! I get it now... :D

  • i just dont get why theother mother drums her fingers... can someone tell mee...?

  • Its sort of archetypal, but generally its indicative of secret schemes and manipulation. Its a subtle gesture that is often done idiosyncratically when planning something while trying to present a normal exterior.

  • i used to collect old buttons but after i saw this movie i dumped them out in the trash.

  • Above our fireplace is a big ornate glass jar with hundreds of shiny buttons. I can't go in that room anymore.

  • Coraline: (chewing) ... Got any gravy? ☻Mom: (snickers) Well, here comes the gravy train- choo choo! (gravy train pours gravy on Coraline's mashed potatoes) ☻Mom: Would you like another roll? Sweet peas? Corn on the cob? Coraline: (swallows) I'm REAL thirsty. ☻Mom: Of course! Any requests? Coraline: Mango milkshake? (mango milkshake pours into Coraline's glass) (Coraline drinks it) (☻Mom places a cake in front of her) (it says: Welcome home!) Coraline: ... Home?
  • ☻Mom: We've been waiting for you, Coraline. Coraline: (pointing to herself) For me? ☻Dad: Yep. Wasn't the same without you here, kiddo. (Coraline folds her arms) Coraline: I didn't even know I had an Other Mother. ☻Mom: (holds ☻Dad's hand) Well, of course you do! Everyone does. Coraline: Really? ☻Mom: Mhm, and I was thinking when you were finished eating, we could play a GAME! (☻Mom's button eyes glint) (☻Mom begins drumming her fingers) Coraline: Like... hide and seek?
  • ☻Mom: (claps hands together) Perfect! Hide and seek- in the rain!

    Coraline: ... What rain?

(suddenly thunder claps and it rains outside)

Coraline: Huh- but what about the mud?

    ☻Dad: We love mud here!

☻Mom: Mud facials, mud baths, mud pies... it's GREAT for poison oak. (holds Coraline's hand)

Coraline: How do you know I... (takes hand away) ... I'd love to play but... I better get back to my other Mother.

☻Mom: But I'm your Other Mother!

  • Coraline: No, my... OTHER other Mother... mom number one? (Coraline bumps into ☻Dad) (☻Dad waves to Coraline) Coraline: ... I really should get to bed. ☻Mom: Of course, darling. It's all made up. Coraline: Wait, bu... ☻Dad: Run along, kiddo. (☻Mom and ☻Dad follow Coraline to her bedroom) (Coraline hops into bed) (☻Mom rubs mud on Coraline's poison oak) Coraline: Oh... the mud... (Coraline goes to sleep) ☻Mom and ☻Dad: ... See you soon...
  • Creepy...

  • When I listened to the whispers, I sort of heard them saying, "The web, the web, the web, the web, this witch, this witch, this witch, this witch..."

  • Right when the other mother brought in the golden chicken,MY mother brought in a golden chicken too!I was so freaked out that I ran out of the room yelling,"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY REAL MOTHER!GET ME OUTTA THIS PARALLEL WORLD!!!!DAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!"LOL! TRUE STORY!!(of course I did eat the chicken with gravy and corn afterwards!)

  • 2 cents: check if the woman in question has too many buttons or not enough eyes before you freak out... or I'll send you RATS...

  • Comment removed

  • Hah! lol I, after the movie, started randomly drumming my fingernails too!

  • Hmm........you love acting like the Other Mother? Are you female?

If so, carry on! If not.......Do as you wish.

In my opinion the Other Mother wasn't quite evil enough. She was bad.....but not as manipulative as she could have been......

  • I'm a girl.

I don't know, while typing this comment, I can't really think of much else the Other Mother could have done to intimidate or ensnare Coraline. I suppose I just think she's evil enough as she is. Pretty sure that when Henry was trying to make the Other Mother more evil and creepy, he kept in mind that he didn't want to make it TOO scary, for the sake of young children or people who get frightened easily.

  • "here comes the gravy train! choo-choo!"

  • They do not have the book at my local library. :(

  • This track sounds like Danny Elfman music

  • the book is awesome! must.....buy....book!!

  • At first when people were talking about the book I kept thinking "what book?" and all of a sudden as I was listening to this I remembered seeing it at our school book fair when I was in either Elementary or Middle school! I wish I had gotten it now!

  • my sis got it and i read it b4 she tore it apart!

  • i just had a Dinner Exactly like that y'knw except the milkshake chandelier.

  • "you must think this wourld is a dream come true... But your wrong!"

  • i must buy this book *_*

  • The movie is fine, but the book is twice as better and soooo scarier^^

  • if you notice in the movie every time they eat the other mothers plate is always empty...

  • I didn't notice that! If I ever see the movie again, I'll watch out for that.

  • That's because Coraline was going to be her food. She wanted to sew the buttons into Coraline so she could eat her soul.

Don't you realize this? Let me explain.

You know how dolls have button eyes sometimes and kids play with them? The people in the Other World were basically dolls. The button eyes symbolize it. The Other Mother was also meant to be one of those 'dolls'. And sometimes kids pretend to feed their dolls. But the Other Mother likes it vice versa in a twisted way.

  • you everything you said was exactly what i was implying ,sorry you didnt get that

  • @12677789 Ah I never noticed that till now! I love this movie!

  • @12677789 That's why she gets so then... We have a clue!

  • @12677789 creepy.....

  • @12677789 i noticed that, its because shes a spider, and spiders dont eat real food they eat flys and in this case... souls... innit.

  • i'm SOOOO Hungry.

  • I love the book

  • Oh, My Twitchy Witchy girl

I think you are so nice

I give you lots off porridge

    And bowls of Ice

    Cream

  • I was at a sleepover recently, and flipping channels, there was a scene in a little kid-type commercial had happy people with button-eyes.

Sort of nightmare-esque after this movie, really xD

  • I love the movies creepiness....* . * It makes me want to read the book so badly...

  • They will definitely have the book at your local/school library.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm hungry now.... O___O

  • Other Father: "We give our thanks and ask to bless our mother's golden... chicken breast :)"

  • Dang, what a supper! O_O

Chicken Breast, corn, sweet peas, mashed potato, gravy train (choo choo! lol), EVEN A MILKSHAKE CHANDELIER!!! 0_0

  • I wanted that chandelier. Hahah, I showed my friend that and she was worried that the chandelier would get all dusty and the milkshakes would spoil...

  • Man Coraline was lucky in this part O_O lol

  • Yeah. then when she went to bed they left the food alone on the table +_+

  • I KNOW, I sooo wanted to finish it... ugh

  • here comes the gravy train. chooo choo. :)

  • This film is arguably so far, Henry Selick's best film made yet. Selick did a great job of keeping consistently faithful to the mood of Neil Gaiman's orginial book, whilst cleverly underplaying the humor and safety of the film. Selick did not forget his audience, but still provided a chilling adventure.

  • *sways to music, eyes closed*

  • I've always want mechanical, needle like hands...

  • I sense some Edward scissorhands music here from "Castle on the hill" sound track music.

  • Oh I've been trying to figure out what Bedlum is and now I know it's the other mother.

  • it is a belldam

  • I prefer toy animals. Human-like dolls creep me out. *shivers* The beginning made me feel like that, seeing the Beldum sewing the Coraline doll.

    Chillingly fantastic movie.

  • Yes I 100% agree with you on that one. But human-like dolls like the one Coraline was given don't freak me out as much only because it doesn't have human-like eyes. It's the eyes that really get me freaked about those dolls.

Button eyes are cute. Although after seeing this movie they scare me a bit more xD

  • why I listen to this before I go to bed. And that image is very pleasing by the way kyuketsuki.

  • What you mean the part during the opening credits? It doesn't creep me out so much, it just reminded me why I don't like human-like dolls so much. And if you like it, that's fine. I actually thought it was a great piece of animation and really got me curious about the movie.

  • These songs remind me of the game "Mindscape". Anyone else?

  • I wonder what would happen to the other world if you destroyed the house.

  • Beldum: Another roll? Sweet peas? Corn on a cob?

    Coraline: I'm real thirsty.

    Beldum: of course, any request?

    Coraline: Mango milkshake?

    yummm

  • Mmm... Supper...

  • this all reminds me of witchcraft which was based the creation of other world. Beldam sure did a good job on it. And ruined everything so fast lol. XD that was great movie. Also the cat are bonus and a link to witchcraft.

  • omg i made a mini doll of me with button eyes but then i got to scared and now keep it under my bed... that scares me more lol

  • i did the same thing but i put it in a drawer of my music box

  • hahah i tried to make one of me but i don't have any good dolls )=

hhahah this movie just makes me wish i was like her! xD

  • i have one!

  • A doll with button eyes? I don't know, that sounds a little... frightening. Think about meeting your Other parents, and them having button eyes. And sharp teeth, and pasty white skin, and trying to force you to love them... intimidating, to say the least. D:

  • I totally want a button-eyed Me doll! that would rock.

  • So do I!!

Except without.,..ya know, all the Other stuff XDXD

  • normally dolls have button eyes

  • How many kids do you think will be traumitized of their own toys. I have a ragdoll with button eyes, xD

  • I had nightmares when I saw that movie

    x3

  • aww i wish i had a doll with button eyes

  • Me to, i think i gonna do one, seriusly

  • do 1? ur gonna make 1? if u r then ur talented to be able to make a ragdoll although i could proberly make 1 wiv the rite materials but i just stick to making clothes for my bendy coraline doll

  • Yes, my grandmother can do that kind of dolls and if i´m beging her much then maybe she will help me :-D

  • i would... o.o
