i tried that at least a dozen times, kept doing the leap of faith. there's there's a haystack right in front of the platform.

There actually is another way to get it, but u have to be careful about where u jump from. took me 6 times to get it right. You can jump down from the top of the tower onto the platform, but you'll miss it by a mile if your aim isnt spot-on.
