  • Very Nice.

  • omg i have the same guitar!!!

  • Great skills man! You really make that guitar sound great! Awesome playing, and an awesome guitar!

  • Hi. Great sounding guitar you got there, and great playing too.

Could you tell me please if these PU`s are a big improvement to the stock ones.

    Are they worth the replacement?

    Thanks, keep the nice playing.

  • @19bluesguitar72 I get asked that question constantly in youtube comments, and I really have no idea, the previous owner changed them

  • @19bluesguitar72 I can tell you that these gibson pickups have a richer and bassier tone to them. I would recommend them in the dot to bring out its true jazzy tone

  • had this guitar for 6 years now. amazing deal. scary when you crank the distortion you can get an almost les paul like tone. amazing guitar with very nice stock pickups. unfortuantlyey my neck pickup broke but il have to fix it soon:P

  • OMG I have that backing track !! Sweetttt :)

  • horny

  • I can tell you express your emotion in your blues. Sounds great man keep it up!

  • You play Damn Good Blues brother!! Well done, keep it up!!

  • Really great jam....you are just amazing...

im thinking of buying this guitar...can you tell me what pickups you are using...

  • wat pickups ru useing

  • U like Warren Hayes dude??? Sound a wee bit like him....

  • @scottishsanny never heard of him lol...

  • @tojwonkle LOL.. Its coolman.... Ure a shit hot playe... Keep it up

  • Getting this guitar soon. I like the start. It sounds very bluesy.

  • the backing truck is created by guitar pro?....if i am right can you send it to me with some way?

  • @rbnephos i found the backing track on youtube, this is a video response to it

  • I'm feeling those blues! Buying me an Epiphone Dot with Vintage Sunburst this week - can't wait...

  • dude jump around on here alot. this held my attention. very nice playing and sound. keep posting.

  • i got a question, i got a strat and i like to play metal on it but, can you also get a metal tone if you plug it in a regular amp with overdrive? will is sound the same as my strat or will it sound like bluesy you have

  • @lronMaidenVEVO despite its appearance, the dot will actually be more suitable for metal than a strat as it has humbuckers instead of single coil pickups. Just crank up the distortion and you're sorted

  • sounds amazing have u had any problems with hardware switch knobs or something like that ? and can u pls tell me the pickups ? cheers great job man

  • Sounds so good, thats some technique you got there pal.

  • Jesus Christ! The guitar must have been built fairly nicely to sound like that. The bridge pickup sounded almost as good as the real thing. Clearly you have a nice amp and good finger tone though.

  • great sound! what is the setup on your amp and what are your tone settings on your dot. i have one coming in this week. can't wait to get it.

  • Finally! Someone makes a good demo with a Dot. Thank you!

  • @GoldtopSam

Yeah, but it's got custom pickups.

    Still, awesome jam.

  • Hi tojwonkle! Wunderwar! I own my epiphone es-175. How do you find the difference between Epi pick up &

Gib? Of course,Epi sound is still my favourite at this moment.

  • Excellent!!

  • Gibson pups? What ones?

  • I just got a 2004 used at GC, did you upgrade yours to Gibson pickups?

  • With your skills, and that guitar, it's a win-win situation!

  • Am just starting out in the guitar world and got me an Epi Dot. If i ever get it to sound like yours and your fantastic playing i will be a happy man. I keep checking this clip for inspiration. Thanks! Great tones!

  • great playing!

  • Very tasty licks. Nice work player!

  • ei there,,nice blues playing there mate,,i would like to ask something, does this guitar have high action when out of the box?i mean do you repair the action of your guitar?thanks man,,GOD BLESS

  • i am trying to decide between one of these dots or a fender tele, i just want to play blues, clean and distort, any advice?

  • you replace only the pickups? by the way Nice playing.

  • great playing!!

  • Great video, great playing! 5 stars!

  • is that a deluxe player's strat at the back.

    how is it

  • @VladimirBostob nope just a standard mexican strat. i've just changed the scratchplate and some of the hardware on it

  • @VladimirBostob which gibson pickups do you have in there?

  • probably the best copy epi makes

  • Well done!

  • Great playing. NIce tone, too.

  • @minpinful it also has to do with it being a hollow body guitar. It's not as rigid as, say a Les Paul, so every time you move and put any tension on it , it will get a little "pitchy".

  • nice playing man and lovely sound from that guitar. Thing I'm gearing myself up to get a epiphone dot. Mind you if i win the lottery I'll go for a late 50's 335. Guess i can dream lol. Nice playing again

  • @minpinful i've got standard 10s on it. The problem you describe sounds like the intonation is out which can occur when changing string guage. It isn't quite perfect on this guitar, but thats just cos I just never got around to setting it up properly!

  • very nice, If you play blues you cant beat a 335 style guitar with the right pickups in it. I had a 59 335 reissue and I had to sell it. I'm kicking myself to this day, that was the best guitar ive ever owned. Also what amp // effects are you using?

  • @vcc1965 sounds like it was one hell of a nice guitar!

I'm using a Blackstar HT-5 Combo with a Marshall Reflector reverb pedal in the FX loop

  • ROADHOSUE STRAT!

  • @GuitarBoyA7X haha never heard of a roadhouse strat... just googled it now to find out what it is! Mine's just a standard arctic white strat with a replaced scratchplate, just so happens to look very similar to the roadhouse model

  • @tojwonkle ahhh sad times!

i have a roadhouse strat and its a lovely guitar :)

nice scratchplate on the standard though dude, looks awesome ;)

  • @GuitarBoyA7X yeah i just looked up the roadhouse on the fender website, looks like an awesome guitar!

  • you have a great deal to offer as a player, please don't let it go to waste, people need to hear you! thank you

  • you have a great deal to offer as a player, please don't let it go to waste, people need to hear you! thank you

  • too bad you're not playing the guitar.

  • Nicely played! I have exactly the same guitar as you (also in black; -)), only I am possible not yet such solo' s ;-)

  • I never realized that epiphones could sound this good. But, it's the player that makes the sound ;) My compliments.

  • great , very close to bb king lucille sound on the clean chanel. and like clapton's beautiful sounds with overdrive. great.

  • awesome.

  • nice blues playing and i like you're tone ! i have an eye on this guitar i tried it in store i find it's a very good guitar for the price!

  • I wanna buy one of epiphone archtop and im interested about your dot or the sheraton II...any suggestion? :D you are a good player :D

  • no complaints from my ears ;-)

  • excellent

  • Dude you have some nice blues skills =) Love it!

  • hey niice sound man. im a guitarist of many artists and styles. and i tried out one of the dot guitars through an AXL 150HR amp at my local music shop. it has great sound both guitar and amp. and surprisingly, the dot has great distortion tone aswel as its AMAZING clean tones. and i even did some metallica on it, and it sounded better then a jackson did

  • nice playing man. i am getting an epi dot soon with updated pots, wiring and SD humbuckers.. should be good!!!! ;-)

  • how much of a difference did switching too gibson pick ups make on that guitar?

  • @tjdohner I really don't know to be honest, they were replaced by the previous owner

  • haha dang man. you prob saved some money on this purchase. i dont know if i want the dot or sheraton. i like the gold hardware on the dots.

  • @tjdohner yeah they're basically the same guitar apart from aesthetic differences, but then the sheraton is a 'proper' epiphone rather than a gibson model. The dot does look a lot nicer in real life than it does on the epiphone website though.

  • j'ai la même guit

  • Gotta say, man, that was some SWEET playing. and I agree with g1xxer600, 2:35 is a mouth-watering little riff.

Personally, I've got a Hagstrom Super Swede running through a Crate V30 2x12 tube combo, and I've been absolutely itching to get my hands on a hollowbody, but money's been real tight...I never could have expected to hear sweet sounds like this out of an Epiphone.

    Great video!

  • Nice playing! Nice axe (I have one jest like it lol) *****

  • this is a very nice tone. what amp are you playing through?

  • @dearrmoundblues a blackstar HT-5 Combo

    Great little amp!

  • smooth. nice playing

  • @tojwonkle I know the guy whos dad co-founded blackstar ;) he must be pretty rich by now! nice amps...

  • Can you play something by the beatles?

  • lol??

  • what styles are they good 4?

  • are they 57 classic pickups?

  • 2:35 sound was the best. if you get a note like that every riff then you'll have people drooling. hahah great job! blue is so easy it is hard

  • have you ever compares your dot with the gibsons-pu with the origial gibson? any diffrents?

  • no, I've never played a gibson 335 but I'd love to find out how different it is to my epiphone

  • that would be nice. but try to use the same amp

  • no difference.

    :d

  • Thanks for all the different sounds from the HT-5, most everybody is playing heavy stuff which I like but I also was curious how it sounds for other styles! Pretty good I'd say.

  • how much were the gibson pickups?

  • what pickups are those?

  • woow tojwonkle this was great perfomance, i want to ask you.. i'm going to buy this exactly epiphone without the pickups, you can tell me how is the neck it is thick or it is thin? Tnks =D

  • It's a fairly normal width, about the same as a modern strat, possibly a bit narrower. It plays like a dream though!

  • Forgive my ignorance, but what scales did you use in this improv?

  • It's basically a blend of the A minor pentatonic, A dorian and A mixolydian.

  • Thanks alot!

  • I knew this was going to immense after 15 seconds. Great playing.

  • your guitar is amazing !! price ?

  • $414

  • Where can I get these blues backtrackings?

  • there's a link to this backing track under the video (this is a video response to it)

    Thanks for watching!

  • This is the exact guitar I want. Nice playing. How much were the pick ups?

  • are these gibson classic 57's

  • The bridge pickup is a burstbucker pro, but I'm not sure about the neck (which I'm using for most of the solo) All I know is that the previous owner had them replaced and the neck is a much older gibson model. Next time I change the strings I'll take it out to see if i can identify it but I reckon it's probably some type of old paf reissue, possibly older than the guitar.

  • For real bro, you and your guitar sound amazing, great, great sound, and playing, excellent my friend.

  • very good feeling, and sound, and true bluesman !! excellent my friend !!!

  • one of the best blues improv i've heard in a long time hands down. Keep it up.

  • i got a burstbucker on the neck, sounds awsome. how's the one on the bridge ? really improved over the stock one ? thanx

  • sounds santanesqe

  • what pick are you using. looks like mine. a brain pic 1.14 mm

  • its a dunlop tortex 0.60 mm

I prefer them to be a bit soft and bendy

  • okay. i prefer over 1mm. or else too soft

  • nice video and playing mate. did your dot already come with the burstbucker pro as stock pickups ?? im putting one on the neck position. cheers

  • thanks, well the guitar is second hand and the previous owner had replaced the pickups and pots and had a full setup which has made it into a fantastic guitar. These pickups do sound great though, the bridge is the burstbucker but I don't know what the neck is apart from being told that it's also a gibson one.

  • Very Gregor Hilden If I might say. The tone is very close to his Dumble, as well as the style.

    Well played 5*****

  • Thanks for this Gerry - very nice.

  • It must be something in the water in Cumbria. Love it.

    Bluesmole

  • Really nice.

I heard the backing track the first time 5 min ago and saw your response.

Nice guitar, really love the sound.

    Keep rockin.

  • Comment removed

  • Enjoyed it very much. Nice vibratos. What kind of strings are you using?(gauge)

  • They're still the strings that came on it (2nd hand) which I'm pretty sure are 10s. I normally use 11s but it feels just right with these on this particular guitar that I'm going to stick with 10s (at least for a bit). Thanks for watching!

  • Hey, really nice playing and you've got some great tone going, too. Wish I could play half as well. One thing, though - to be a totally drop dead, gorgeous solo I would have liked to see a slight change of pace in the middle or somewhere. Just a thought. Anyway, very tasty playing. Thanks for posting.

  • WOW Mr. T, yes I'm going to call you Mr. from now on.

That's a sweet dot with an awesome tone.

Your playing is OFF scale on this one. I guess this is one of, if not THE best performance I have seen/heard from you.

    I enjoyed this tremendously

  • Hi there, could You tell me Your amp eq settings on this video. What speakers do You use ?

  • Hi, my amp is a Blackstar HT-5 combo with bass on 3 o clock, middle on full, treble at about 2 o clock and the ISF control completely turned down. The gain is on 9 o clock for the overdrive tone.

    Thanks for watching!
