Even though I haven't seen the episode yet , I'm one of the people who believes we never made it to the moon . I also think that there is no real way of proving it unless a non-American space agency goes there and films the landing zone .

If the US never actually made it to the moon, wouldn't the USSR (who were tracking the US spacecraft) have debated it to humiliate their competitor. Also they left a reflector up there, without which we could not measure the distance between the Earth and the moon (by the way the moon is slowly moving away.)
