Somehow as an image they where communicating as we do in big movie features, where moraly and philosophicaly based messages are given. We have raffined our languages, but we still communicate with powerful tools such as books arts and movies, that might be again more remembered in the future as real then other serious written records. That's how I try to approach what I am reading in any scriptures.
Putting ourselves in the context even if a bit imaginary. Merci.
Salut! You know that for me this story is (in our part of civilisations)the first calling to stop killing and dying for our primitive perception of god. The consiousness of Abraham (the angel)transcendeding intellectualy Abraham false perception of faith, by the aknowledgement of Love, is basicaly what we are still experiencing today, but not clearly understanding obviously. 93 Canadians soldiers, and how many Americains, and millions of civils? That story is important, merci.
You may be missing that Abraham was the begining of the Messianic Prophecy. I Think the point is that through the messiah the world will be conquered through peace. This why the Lion will lay down with the lamb. Just a thought.
As for His other he had to send him off because of a rift between Sarah and Hagar. Abraham forsake Ishmael and God took over taking care of his son. The point here being that eventhought Abraham did things differently that God had asked God would still bless the child.
If we are talking about Rashi it is interesting to note that he was convinced that Issac was mentally challenged. This idea is suported by the story of how Issac met his wife. It would also describe why it was so easy for Jacob to fool him.
??? bible stuff?
