Everyone needs to stop downing musicians when they r doing the best they can at the time when KCS is up singing. Do u all think u all can do a beeter job,, if so y u all not there right my point so please keep ur negative comments to urself and stop talking bout one another and we call ourselves church folks, I would hate to attend worship service with half of u all on here please pray for one another & stop talking bout each other.
Everybody that are musicians can't play every gospel song they hear, if they not use to hearing songs more than once they can't keep so please before u go judging people give them a chance & we call are self church folks, I would hate to see how some of you'll act in your own church. this is a good example of anointing, even when the surroundings of a person sound bad, they still shine!! god's glory shines thru messy situations!! This music is the pits...
2. We need to get out of the idea that only a specific person is anointed to bring the Word, God can use anybody He desires to bring forth to His glory (He's not a respector of persons) and so people need to come with their heart already prepared for the Word instead of waiting for a "big name" to come and stir it up. @Kilowatt16 It's not so much that as it is her being there and not singing..he's basically saying that when people knows that she's there they want to hear her..some people only come to hear here..I know I've gone to church events only to hear her and ended up being blessed by someone else..i'm sure he doesn't have that problem when he's traveling alone
Also want to point out that Pastor Drew should not be concerned with stirring up the audience before he preaches. 1. be confident that the Lord is with you as you preach and that God has already anointed the Word that He has given you...
Well God was certainly in Karen, love her voice - anointing is on her life, unfortunately I couldn't feel the same power through the musicians, the issue isn't just about playing church chords because it's not even the concept of "church chords" which makes a song anointed. When you play you must play with the heart of God and not just skill, that is what breaks yokes of bondage and sets the captives free.

They could have the best hearts of any musicians you ever met... just because they can't play as good as the best yet does not mean it's because they don't care about hymns or old songs. God only requires our best and nothing more.

If I was Karen, I would have been musically frustrated and upset w/those musicians!! Just plain angry!!! %#!..She probably wanted to step down, get over there, and play the song herself, if it wasn't for Bettye...:) I betcha she would have done it too!!

@bemaniac2 I agree. Even though I know the songs, I am a church musician. I like to play for the service and the preacher, not gospel artists. But these kids these days don't know church music. A lot of them are too busy trying to play EVERY other genre of music. Get gospel down first...SMH
Soooo let this be a lesson to all of you church musicians who just want to learn the new stuff. Learn how to play behind and compliment a singer. Learn the standards and hymns of the church so you won't sit there and look/sound stupid like those musicians did. That really upset me this morning.
@DaHotNig You are ABSOLUTELY right!!!!!!! Alot of so-called musicians thinks its about who can create the craziest cords and shouting music. The key to being a good musician is reading hymns, know how to follow a singer and not "MAKE" the singer follow you. How to be humble in your gift and flow in the anointing.
