  • love this mans soul born to perform

  • Drummer is top, too!

  • LUCKY GIRL! O:

  • 1:34 hand brake? or def leppard tribute?

  • I bought a wireless guitar system after seeing this back then.

  • I'll never forget showing this video to my dad when this was on PBS. He was a B.B King fan and didn't know much about Buddy Guy. After he saw this he became a huge Buddy Guy fan! Makes me miss my dad. Met Buddy at Legends many years ago and told him that he was the reason I played guitar. He smiled that smile, then we drank....:)

  • Buddy is so groovy with this band set-up! Who's the bassist? Like his style.

  • @TheBlueBandYTAccount The bassist is Greg Rzab.

  • Thanks for the Blues Buddy !!

  • bwst buddy live performance evah....genius arangements of this monster hit.

  • this is makin me nervous its so fast!

  • Haha, imagine chillin in the park, bummin that you couldn't get good seats to see buddy guy, but happy enough to hear him live...than he comes walkin through the damn park playin the guitar.

  • Saw Buddy play this in Columbus, Ohio at the Newport! Small venue with great acoustics! It still gives me a chubby!

  • I've never heard Buddy go off key like at 2:14 :O

  • pure riffage

  • incredible!!!....can you witness this today in 2010 society?

    pls answer yes!

  • Is that a wireless pick up or something?

  • check out the drummer @ 1:33, drops a stick and doesnt miss a beat

  • I sometimes wonder if the audience knows how the wireless thing works when guitar player does the walk thing like this? Maybe some think that he is using a backing track and not actually playing?

  • he walked the crowd last summer at Bethel Woods too, loved his show

  • wow, smokin fast, but very cool...........ohh that bass!

  • @ModernSaxDotCom Amen to that!

  • Wow Tha's fast. Greg Rzab bass?

  • I have this song from his live album in 1967on my MP3 player, Gives me the chills!!! Everytime

  • I was at this concert, front row just off center stage. I still have a guitar string that Buddy handed me when he broke it. I also got a pick that BB King gave me at the end of his set. Talk about good seats!

Crowd seems subdued due to humidity and the fact that it was an all-afternoon, all-evening bluesfest and you can only be so wild for so long.

I do recall Buddy apologized to the crowd once during the show for being hungover but it was a great set.

  • Awesome, great perofrmance, geez I wish the crowd was a lil bit better, but uh I guess they didn't wanna be rude or get too tired out.

  • WOW!

  • Buddy is the man no body does this shit anymore. HE is the King of Entertainment. To many Rock bands think they are the shit and forget this part of the business.

  • I see the Bassman in the back ground but also a MArshall Head looks like a plexi maybe JCM 800. I can't see Buddy using a Marshall? Probably the opening act or the next act.

  • buddy uses marshalls and bassmans

he had the same set up when i saw him

i guess it depends on what he's doing

  • class bassist!

  • man when was this concert???? i wish i would have went to see him

  • Circa 1996

  • makes me wanna dance or do something that makes me sweat like crazy

  • wow he just walks.... that song is so bad ass i didn't know it's his

  • no i think it's a cover

  • buddy is the man!!!

  • Wow - I just realized that was right here in Houston!! How cool is that ?!?!?!?!?

  • Quel chanteur hallucinant!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • dang who is that drummer? he is awesome

  • that rhythm section is SO tight!

  • Buddy Guy is latin for balls of steel. what a legend....

  • @bguitaristavista buddy guy is the king of the blues ///// end of story

  • Wow, what balls! Wondering like that in the audience, bending his Fender!

  • buddy guy is one of the most amazing showmen in the blues.

  • @MrCaribbean i agree wiv dat!!!!

  • @MrCaribbean no, Buddy IS the Blues!!!!

  • WOW FUCKING AWESOME WHAT HE DID!

  • I WISH I WAS THE LITTLE GIRL

  • god damn, buddy had a hell of a band behind him, i mean, when you can actually take your focus off of buddy for a second.

  • awesome!

  • Wow, how exciting would THAT have been to be there !?!

  • Buddy Guy is so awesome.

  • That is one long cord!

  • He's wireless.

  • is this song actually called knock on wood coz ive been looking for the tab and i cant find it some one help me and iam new to blues guitar and i want to learn some easy songs/riffs

  • a good tip is that, for blues guitar you dont use tabs=) if you wanna learn a few licks to get started listen to records, and if thats hard search up Skydog46

  • yeah. tabs suck, use your ears!

  • uh yes, tabs are really really helpful for young guitarists. If you don't have any knowledge how the hell can you transcribe this, i mean good lord be realistic. If you use a lot of tabs you eventually walk against transcribe riffs which you can use in you own improv

  • Hell yes!

  • Ive only got into the blues recently. i was first listening to 'pop-blues' (john mayer) which pointed me to 'blues-rock' (SRV and Clapton) then Ive went on to listen to'blues' Buddy Guy, BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins and Freddie King. Could some real blues fans tell me wat i sud listen 2 nxt?

  • Howlin Wolf is my favorite

  • listen to some jazz-blues next - Jimmy Smith, Ray Charles, Deanna Bogart, Maceo Parker....and some contemporary blues like Shemekia Copeland, Tab Benoit

  • Gov't Mule

  • i stronly reccomend robert johnson and muddy waters.

  • SON HOUSE. nuff said.

  • Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Son House, Charley Patton, Booker White, Robert Johnson, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, T-Bone Walker, Blind Willie Johnson, Tampa Red...The list goes on!

  • Try some acoustic delta blues, and slide blues, riff blues (John Lee Hooker), and try some Hendrix; look up Voodoo Chile blues, not Voodoo Child slight return, although that is good too, Machine gun with Hendrix and the band of gypsies for some funkier blues. maybe then some New Orleans jazzier/carribean blues It's all good man, cause it's all the blues!

  • great god almighty, go buddy. was there, that knocked me out.

  • whos playin bass for buddy?

  • It looks like Greg Rzab, A very lose friend of mine, And a very talented musician.....

  • Oh man, so cool!!!

  • Only one word - great!

  • when this live was plays? In 1990 ? (excuse me for my english i'm italian)

  • Best drummer for Buddy: Ray Allison. Best album they did together: D.J. Play My Blues.

  • dude thas way tight buddy can get funky indeed!!!

  • No, he's so much more...

Maybe someone has a vid Buddy doing 'slow blues'?

  • He is a showman

  • "Awesome" Buddy is truly Awesome

  • Damn the rhythm guitarist is funky as hell bro! And Buddy still got the blues man... Peace

  • Haha, the way he walks around and plays. Somewhat legendary.

That's one hell of a wireless set too.

  • i saw him live with blinddog smokin last summer in whyoming. He has gotten old but he still has his good ol' bluesy sound.

  • So funky

  • anybody knows date and place?

  • Buddy has talents beyond where he goes.

  • damn thats one good wireless set!

  • man! Love that!

  • It is at woodlands. Great performance, too bad there are only 4 songs.

  • ah ray Killer Allison! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!Tell everybody is is so geat!

  • That is one lucky kid!

  • One of the best Blues Bands I have seen: Buddy Guy, Scott Holt on Guitar, Greg Rzab on Bass, and Ray "Killer" Allison on Drums - all of them are PHENOMENAL musicians

  • is this at the woodlands
