DeathAdder is better. Lachesis' pretty uncomfortable after long hours of playing, although it have a higher dpi than DeathAdder, and that the lights can be change for one's preferences.

I own both. and by far, the deathadder is way more comfortable. If you like to change the colors of your L.E.Ds and aren't playing FPS' all the time , then go for the lachesis. Anyone else, Deathadder all the way.

What's better also, is that it's not just a simple colour palette, but you get to pick from the custom Windows colour tool (to get the specific colour you want).

@valdezapg Uhhhh yes it is. Install the Razer software, change the configuration of the light. Off, blinking, or solid. I own a Death Adder 3500. I honestly forgot it blinked. Not a big deal imo.

If u use the mouse with ur right hand then i recommend the deathadder. The design of the lachesis needs alot of getting used to, its shape is really different, its not for everyone. While with the deathadder, anyone who games with their right hand can pick it up and get used to it really fast.

And it has a really great sensor too.

my favorite razer mouse is Krait. i use finger grip so the deathadder made my fingers hurt due to the shape and the slippery gloss sides. Lachesis is the most beautiful mouse ever, but has uncomfortable shape, sensor is flawed, the buttons are hard to press - a failed design. Krait has enough dpi, the sensor is reliable and has less prediction than Deathadder, its small and really comfy for finger-grip and the rubber sides don't let the fingers slip. I use usbhack to improve pooling rate.

@nmatavka Krait has 1600dpi, and dpi is precision, not speed. how much dpi you need , depends on your ingame sensitivity. some pro cs players dont need more than 400dpi. for me 1600dpi was just right and there wouldnt be much difference in my precision if i was palying with twice the dpi.

mouse speed (reaction time) or responsivenes depends on the pooling rate. while krait has 125hz from factory, using usbhack i was able to get to 930hz, which compared to DA (1000hz) isnt much of a difference

@THISISKENNYC if you want to buy a good mouse that you will love you need to find out what mouse grip you are using and whether you are high-sesnsitivity or low sensitivity player. google "razer ergonomics guide" about grip stypes. high sens playing is when you only move your palm, low sens is when you sweep your arm long distances across the table to turn around for example. i am high-sens player using fingertip grip. the third button is the mouse wheel which you press down.

the "other one" is a razer lachesis, the problem im guessing you were having or thought that made it bad was the fact that it wasn't made just for one hand, probably the right hand i'm guessing. it's actually an ambidextrous mouse which was of course made for ambidextrous people. :P

If you're left handed, Razer offers only ambidextrous and right handed designs, so you probably know the obvious choice.

It will take a while to get used to the Lachesis. Your main hurdle will be finding somewhere on the mouse to comfortably fit your ring and pinky finger. My lachesis had a faulty aperture and the cursor would just erratically jump around everywhere, so I sent it back and got a Deathadder. I was one of the rarer cases with a faulty mouse I think.

It doesn't have to be at 4000. It adjusts in increments of 125.

But 4000 dpi would be useful for using on small tables or something where you don't have a lot of room. Like if you wanna go out in the family room and all you have is a coffee table, plus there are drinks and snacks on it that you don't want to spill.

4000 dpi isn't necessary for most cases, but it is a plus. Especially if you hate the touchpads on laptops and need a mouse you can use in minimal space.

the Lachesis is adjustable up to 4000 dpi, where as the DeathAdder only goes up to 1800. Plus the Lachesis has more macro buttons and is ambidextrous (which is the main reason I got one because I switch off).

Its all personal preference though. You can't really say one is better then the other, because to a lefty all the right-handed only mice suck, and to a right there is no reason to have an ambidextrous mouse.

I personally love how the Lachesis feels and its more customizable than the DA

dpi technically is not the same thing as sensitivity. if it was, then you would be able to crank sensitivity super high or super low on a 400 dpi mouse and have no need for a higher dpi mouse.
