  • Not the greatest sound quality, but a treat to see, just the same. I would be cool to hear McGuinn join R.E.M. on a song or two or R.E.M's, like maybe "Green Grow the Rushes" or "Driver 8", songs which, to me anyway, sound like they were influenced partially by the Byrds' sound.

  • nice to see this, pity the sound isn't very good.thank you

  • @irish66

    you are very welcome

  • One of the things that first attracted me to REM (especially on their early IRS albums) was how much they reminded me of the Byrds (not just in terms of the sound, but also in terms of their boundary-less creativity), so how cool is it to see them jamming with McGuinn?!!!

  • Was this at Passaic? It looks like the same concert, but I dunno. In any case, great performance.

  • @Dynamic2Duo

    yes i think so :)))))

  • This is Neat!, but , I think it was played to fast a beat, should have played it in its normal time .

  • superb artist...superb talent...

  • Love it. McGuinn is givin' it a jittery New Wave feel to keep up with the kids.

  • way way way way way too fast. Ruined. Way to go, Stipe, you spazz.

  • in awe

    ty for this vid!

  • They should just replace Stipe with McGuinn and go on tour! Well, at least for one tour. It's like jamming with God, but more fun.

  • Top class. I wish this were available in better sound quality though.

  • McGuinn + Guitar = Rock & Roll Star

  • McGuinn always looks a bit like he's in pain when he's singing.

  • or a little bit wired

  • Can anyone find the Patty Smyth version? Limewire and Frostwire don't have it. Even though they used to.

  • This is too awesome. I had the preasure of seeing McGuinn at Fort Lewis College in Colorado in 2004. He was awesome on the 12 string.

  • I also very much like this video :)

You are very lucky to see Roger McGuinn play his 12 string :)

  • Yes, it was good show. I kind of wish he would have had a band for some of the songs, but just seeing Roger McGuinn guitar work was impressive. The Byrds are definately one of my favorite bands of all time. You are awesome for posting this.

  • You are very welcome for this video :)

I too have always like The Byrds. I am surprised not more people watch this video, I like this video alot. I especially like how REM seem so impressed to be playing music with Roger McGuinn! :)

  • Thanks for this video Heidi. :~)

  • Funny to watch Michael & Mike both trying to watch Roger McGuinn play his guitar. :~)

  • I also notice Michael & Mike watch Roger McGuinn. I think they are very impressed with Roger McGuinn. :)

  • @heidigretel McGuinn must have enjoyed playing with them. I went to see McGuinn in a small venue in Athens Ga. in about 1988, He played solo with his 12 string Rickenbacker for the first half of the show, then Buck, Mills, and Berry joined him for the rest of the night. It was an incredible concert. Thanks for sharing this.

  • @HumGuitar you are very welcome :) thank you for share your experience :)

  • Wow, all those Rickenbackers! Great add, Thanks!

  • You are very welcome. :)

  • and when you make the charts the girls will tear you apart! ;)

    great. thanks.

  • You are very welcome. :)
