This version of "YOU DON'T SAY!" closely resembled the '70s version of "MATCH GAME" (with two tiers of celebrity panelists, at least), and was on at 4pm(et), only to be replaced by "THE EDGE OF NIGHT" in November '75...
I've seen an episode of the 1963-69 version and it doesn't seem all that interesting (I believe Goodson and Todman sued the producers of You Don't Say! because it resembled Password, a far superior game, too closely).
In its original run, YDS! aired at 3:30 p.m. ET against the show that would end up replacing this version: The Edge of Night.
ABC never should have cancelled Mr. Kennedy's best show, Split Second.
Do you have any from 1978-79 with Jim Peck hosting?

Too bad they never had the Kids Week, since ABC got The edge of Night from CBS.

you're right they did sue and the ruling was that Tom couldn't stand between the 2 teams on YDS.

How funny he mentioned that there would be a Christmas week in December, yet the show was canceled in November. :-P

Actually, "Password" was replaced in most markets by "Showoffs". "You Don't Say" came on a week later, replacing "The Moneymaze".
